    We are expecting the entire stretch to be ready by mid 2025, and not merely phase 2A. Yelahanka needs metro desperately.

    Kempegowda International Airport was opened in May 2008 and nearby there's a 107 years old British era Railway line which connects from Yelahanka Jn to Bangarpet Jn via Devanahalli, Chickkaballapur, Kolar and there's a MEMU train which runs from Bangalore to Devanahalli and stops at KIA Halt railway station 🚉

    The Blue line should have been the first line to be constructed by BIAL. this would have de-congested the ORR traffic. the Green and Purple lines hardly save traffic. I believe most people will agree to this idea.
    Nevertheless, lets hope by 2030 we will have all the lines active and with sub-urban railways and BMTC network, bangalore should see a steep decline in road traffic!

    • @mysteriousbillionaire7349
      @mysteriousbillionaire7349 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are right, most of the traffic these days are at Silk Board and KR Puram. This would have solved both and also covered the Airport.

    • @arvindwild
      @arvindwild 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hopefully. But I'm concerned, if people would still prefer the comfort of traveling on their own bikes and cars. There has to be some additional merit of using the Metro, like a tax exemption or free passes/goodies by respective companies. Ppl may only then choose to travel by metro. :(

      Correct. Who can forget the nightmare of silk board signal!!

    • @AnvitasDiaries
      @AnvitasDiaries ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was no traffic on ORR in 2005 when metro was first planned there were hardly any companies there, mostly Whitefield and EC. DPR happened by E.Sreedharan who studied the most traffic prone zones and rightly started at city center, if you do not travel in those areas doesn't mean they do not have traffic. Between metro is a transport solution not a traffic solution., there will be traffic even after metro brace up. Bangalore has not increased buses and 40 years center did not start suburban rail while 2011-2015 metro phase 2 was not approved so half of the blame goes to the babus working in center.

    • @hhppecit
      @hhppecit ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong! ORR already has good bus connectivity. Different public transport modes should complement each other…not compete. The way I see it, now bmrcl and bmtc will be a logger heads and directly competing with each other for ridership at least along Phase-2A.
      Phase 2-B should have covered untapped upcoming areas instead of going parallel to the existing airport road. City planning in India lags by decades in India.

  • @arunkumarm18

    Electronic city Metro station near Infosys should have been the first metro track in Bangalore. But because of local Politician who had so much of property in Hosur road made the project delay by strikes and unwanted issue and later the central govt gave 10k to 12k per Sq.Ft for all the people due to which govt faced huge loss. Then only the work was started it took more than 15years to start the work only. Dont know when they will complete.

    • @AnvitasDiaries
      @AnvitasDiaries ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know where you got this info but this is 100% false, There was no traffic on Hosur Road in 2005 when metro was first planned. Ofcourse BETL was a bad idea for saddist people driving fancy cars while people under it suffer. Land is a state subject and center is nowhere involved in any kind of land acquisition. How will work start when there was no DPR for EC Metro? Looks like Whatsapp University Graduate.

      No issues, as long as interchange stations like Silk Board, K R Puram, Nagawara, and in later stages, Hebbal, are seamless just like other metro stations. And also, fares are ordinary fares even if a person boards from Yelahanka to go to other parts of the city, not the airport.

    • @theglobaltransitsofficial
      @theglobaltransitsofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion, they should make the line as a 2 separate lines. SilkBoard-KR Puram route should run as a Metro and KR Puram-Airport Section should run as a Airport Express Line due to less stns. But I wonder why BMRCL decided to run a regular metro route all the way From SilkBoard-KR Puram

    • @jj2000100
      @jj2000100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@theglobaltransitsofficial i don't agree with that because,
      Just like SilkBoard-KR Puram section, KR Puram-Hebbal-Yelahanka section is a commuter belt which has many residential areas and IT parks. Only beyond Yelahanka, there'll be very less commuters. Hence creating an express line only to serve Airport from K R puram means loosing the revenue from local commuters on these sections.
      And the suggestion that i mentioned can co-exist with regular services. Although it needs good amount of planning and execution to work like clockwork.

    • @vijaysrini27
      @vijaysrini27 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jj2000100 Right. Now a days, there are huge traffic jams on Airport Road as well, especially within the city limits I e upto Yelahanka Airforce Station. Hence, we cannot run express services from Hebbal to Airport with too few stops. Currently, beyond Afs there is less crowd, and it won't be much of a pain if people drive to the nearest metro station and then take a metro. But that may change in future.

Air Traffic of Bengaluru has grown so unexpectedly within a decade that they have to build new terminal and runways , since they already had land outside they can work faster on the extension and they are already planning to add more terminal for future expecting 60-80 million footfalls in next five years. Imagine such huge Airport inside the city , how you would grow?
