    Hey man it looks great, just so that you know, I put mine together before installing in on the car and what I did to prevent the joints from coming apart I did put 3 M tape then screw it pretty tight , going that rout it actually looks as one piece...

    You didn't use the 4 small screws to join the 3 pieces so it sits flush. You should also have used a bond such as tiger seal or it's likely to tear off at speed from the immense downforce as my first one did.

      Yeah your spot on. The splitter flew off after a few weeks as i didnt use the extra screws or tiger seal. I’ve since got rid of the golf but i would highly recommend this 👍

    Are you worried about the screws pulling out of the soft plastic? It would be a shame to run over basically a spike strip lol

    I’d pull that but down that’s not flush and just fit a few things in the small gap lol just so it sits that tiny bit lower

    Hey, is the splitter still holding? I had the same one with way more self tappers and it flew off in the rain haha

    • @RobLaneYT

      Yoo, not good haha, the exact same mate. Was absolutely hooning it on the motorway and hit a few bumps and that was the splitter gone. Luckily no one was behind me and had to go rescue it on the hard shoulder, totally scratched to pieces. Definitely going to have tl invest in a maxton splitter to prevent that from happening again! 😂

      Exactly, using bond such as tiger seal is a must if you ever plan to go above 90 mph and Abs plastic compound, UK made is a must too rather than cheap Chinese plastic.

      @@markwatson5166it wouldn’t fly off if you used tiger seal correct?

    if your going with this splitter.. id definitely head over to your nearest hardware shop, pick up a few extra screws, and definitely use 3M tape as well to help keep it on under higher speeds. aside from that its actually not a bad looking splitter considering the $ .. realistically if you drive ur car alot these parts get abused by rocks, scraping and just overall wear n tear so its good when its cheap bc youll eventually replace it anyways.. doesnt matter what brand .. rocks will destroy it lol

    • @mazyd4091

      also i might add.. he installed it completely wrong but hey

    • @RobLaneYT
      @RobLaneYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, i installed it to the manual, i understand there should be more screws in the centre piece to make it level etc. This wasn’t a tutorial it was more of a this is what it looks like so installations might not be perfect.
      Cheers
