It's times like this that having Jeff Bezos' wealth would come in handy. Fun fact: The Venezualian cover for "Maiden Japan" was supposed to be the original album cover. Shortly before it's release, Di'anno left the band, and Rod Smallwood didn't want to give the impression there were hard feelings with Paul, with his decapited head. So they changed it to the Samurai sword, which I liked better anyway.
Just FYI a typical complete 1st press near mint/mint in & out IM vinyl only collection, today goes for about 8-9k €. If you will add pieces like Japanese promos, the 2013 picture discs box set, uncut picture disc singles, the twilight zone brown UK 7", the 2 minutes to midnight Japan promo, Maiden Japan Venezuela alt cover, Soundhouse Tapes and a couple more then you are looking for over 20k €. I know because i own (an incomplete) one that is in the 15k range. I didn't know how much a collection like this costs as i hadn't done my research first, if i knew i wouldn't start one but if you will jump in the train there is no way back. Beware and happy collecting 🤘
Wow! Insane indeed! The money that the previous owner invested in all that, getting some things framed. And then I'm sure an even better price for selling it all off. I'd so love to have the Eddie's Archive tin box with the scroll etc. inside, and that single - it looked like a Japanese promo for Evil That Men Do.... that would be so cool to own, but I couldn't afford those prices right now. That tin box with the scroll was really cool, the whisky glass is a nice item! I know the owner is always quite generous when he knows it goes to a good home, so the prices are pretty good and not overpriced. However its still quite a lot of money, but I'm sure you'll find it one day. Teeth are fine, the chipped one eventually has to go but that is a problem for later, haha. Cheers Bev 🤘

@Mercyful Metal Apparently the story with Ripping Corse is that the engineer/producer owns the rights to it but there was some dispute with the band and now he won't sell them the rights so they can reissue it. Pretty fucking petty if you ask me! Whre did you find one? I've never had the chance!! £4,40 on Discogs!

Haha yes, we are the world capital of bikes! Mine has a little rack in front of it, so I could put the bag with the frame on there safely. You are lucky with the box man, all of this stuff is so expensive nowadays! I would've loved to pick up the Number of the Beast Japanese press but it was way outta my budget. Nice choices - well done. Been a Maiden fan around the time of the first LP, they used to play in my local pub (the Ruskin Arms, as featured on the "Killers" and "Somewhere In Time" LP covers). Just an FYI - "Muthas" is pronounced like "mother", except with a "u" so it's spelt "mutha" - as in Muthaf**ker !

Did you know Dennis Stratton still plays; I live in Canada now, but at least once a month he performs in another of my old local pubs on a Sunday lunchtime in East London as part of a duo - “Den and Dave - the other being another guitarist Dave Edwards (all of the other instruments are on tape). He always finishes the set with “Phantom of the Opera”! Oh - and Steve Harris used to have a season ticket at West Ham football club, five rows ahead of me!

So much Iron Maiden , in one place , it’s crazy . Looks like the guy had been collecting Maiden stuff for 30+ years, no wonder he had a little cry. If he bought most of it at retail price, then at least he got a good investment return. With all the bullshit reissues Maiden have done, some fans are getting pissed off. Even during a pandemic they go and release another BS live album. Cool vid and well done for getting your framed item home in one piece. You should have got the biscuit tin, doubled your money on Ebay and gone back to buy extra items.
I can understand bands releasing different stuff because they have no income from concerts etc. I could go for profit but the owner is an honest man and keeps prices not to the highest when he knows it will end up with a good music lover, I really like that!

I started my Maiden collection (approx 150 vinyl pieces) in '83 and finally gave up in 2016. I've supported them through the high and low times of their career, but they keep treating their fans as cash cows by rereleasing everything over and over (something Steve said he would never let EMI do). I feel sorry for any new fans that want to collect the original stuff, they're going to have to be as rich as the Maiden boys. Yeah, supercool for the shop owner to keep his prices honest, he could certainly make a lot more. Love watching vids about Maiden collections, hope you've got more to come?
Nowadays bands like Maiden, Metallica or Megadeth are more brands, just selling ridiculous stuff for crazy prices and the hardcore fans keep buying it anyway. I don't know if I will ever come across something like this again. I could do a video on my own Maiden collection but its not that great.

I was lucky enough to be 10 in 1980 and able to buy Iron Maiden on release and go to the record fairs to look for their records and cassettes.

Guess it depends on what you're looking for and how much you're willing to pay for the music you love. I recently bought a record for 120 euros.
