I really love this series. I obviously can’t do the pro ones. But I can probably pull off the intermediate. And the pro one gives me ideas to change up the intermediate a bit. Please continue doing these.
The pro isnt a far stretch from intermediate, its just a little more involved in the joinery, but once you try iit once you'll feel like its amateur hour and be looking for the next thing!
First, love the progression from shop cabinets to bathroom cabinets to kitchen cabinets. Fantastic. Second, yes teach Sam and Jordan dovetails cause I would watch that video. Third, that squirrelly push stick is now my favorite thing.
Starting a job at a cabinet shop tomorrow, nervous as hell so I'm glad there are resources like this just to familiarize myself with some of the methods since a lot of my experience with these tools is from decking and framing
I own a custom cabinet shop. You'd be surprised how difficult frameless cabinets can get when the clients start adding premium features. Primarily if you are gonna have a perfect 1/8" gal between all doors and drawers. Everything in fine frameless cabinetry has to be dead on square and perfect or it won't work right. Also, you don't need space balls. You can just put some 23g pins on the back inside the edge of the door. Like each 2" off the vertical center line of the doors. The 4" of spread isn't enough to break the pins, and it won't move from it's alignment.
I'll be self building my entire kitchen in my home in the next few years. Videos like this are very helpful. I'll be going to get them all to the intermediate level standard at least. Edge banded, skaker doors, frameless full overlay, full pockethole construction. I'd love to be able to do the pro level, but not with my limited tools in a 8ft x 12ft workshop.
This is my favorite style of video - 3 Level Builds. LOVE the squirrelly Push Stick!! YES, teach the boys then do a 3 Level Video on the "Way of the Dove" haha!
@@christophermcnaughton6113 it's not a matter of laziness; it's a matter of consumer convenience. People want things "custom" but they also want them cheap and fast.
Face frame cabinets aren’t my favourite but a solid vid! Y’all should try doing some European modular style some time! I’ve found them easier for longer banks of cabinets.
II dunno, the intermediate (full overlay) looks the best out of these 3. While I do prefer inset doors and drawers, I’m not a fan of raised panels as they can often date the furniture. Just my opinion. As usual, awesome video though!
Any way we can get Travel Coffee Mugs in the shop? Wouldn't mind a Squirrelly Squad Yeti style cup!!! Please and thanks!!! Let's get this upvoted to make it happen!!
Question for the level 1 cabinet: Any tips for preventing the large bottom door from warping or twisting over time? I know plywood is pretty stable, but I've had some issues with warping on larger plywood panels in the past.
Love this series and think it fills that space when people wonder how they can complete a project without all the same tools as the video. One suggestion though would be to structure the video by step in the process and then go through each build. When it’s time to make the drawer, here’s how Jordan, then Sam, then John make the drawer. Rather than each persons build all the way through. I mention this just because by the end of John’s build, the connection between how he just stepped it up a notch from what Jordan did is a little lost. John’s is obviously more advanced visually, but the impact of why gets muddled a little I think.
I’m a complete novice and I’m wondering if it’s best to paint the cabinets before or after assembly? Any advantage either way as far as achieving the most professional, polished look possible?
It's like watching a father and two sons. Sam is the oldest who wants to be jut like dad and follow in his footsteps, and bosses the youngest around. Jordan is the youngest who is like, I'd rather be playing video games but were a Woodworking family lol.
@John Malecki Got a big question for you guys and I hope you reply. I built the intermediate cabinets but I have no clue which hinges to use. I tried a couple of 35mm soft close hinges but they seemed crazy big for the doors......am I doing something wrong or do I need some different style of hinges? Hope to here back.
As a professional Custom Finish Carpenter I hv to make several different pieces flawless to include cabinets , kitchen and bath! Islands, hutches, sofa cabinets, tables , crown, base, built ins window trim, build doors , install doors (a lot of them) you get the picture! I am trying to figure out if I should subscribe ?? To learn dove tails? Why they take to long and my Lee jig will do & has done fine? For the slap act? No I think none of what I seen could be something I sell maybe the last one but truthfully I sell my customer on time tested flat panel shaker doors! Or shaker with a chamfer ! Anyway kind of a kidding around channel I get it?
I love these series, but I always find it unfair that the pro wood gets to be better wood, with finishing touches that makes it shine. But really useful to know some good tips anyway. Keep on the good stuff !

You definitely can't with that attitude! Patience & Practice, that's it... oh and a lot of tools, and wood.
Glad to see Jordan open up and show his personality a bit more!

How is it going!?
How did it go ?
Congrats on the new addition to the family!
This is my favourite series on your channel, always fun to see the different approaches.
Fantastic work boys! Keep it up!
Love the 3 level builds! Really liked John's build.
That’s so funny I was like I wonder if there’s a new video from John and as soon I I opened TH-cam the notification popped up
Love these three way builds !! But I need Jordan’s safety glasses !
Yes! Show them the ways!
Love the squirrelly push stick 🐿
I’m actually going to use this video to try a build in the next couple of days! Best videos I’ve found! Thanks for the share! Very entertaining
All are good looking but SAM is the man
I would love to see a three stages of carpenters toolbox video. Every woodworker should make one at some point.
I dig the very squirrely push stick for the table saw
This is such a cool series you've got goin on. Looking forward to seeing more
As a minimalist, I super love the Beginners's design.

More 3 levels videos! Great concept for woodworking videos.
Can I get a link to where you got that awesome 7 degree blade from???
Best woodworking chanel on TH-cam!
Thank you Michael!
Awesome video from start to finish - all three variations turned out great! I always enjoy the "3 Levels" videos. Keep it up!
Love the 3 level series. Thanks guys keep it up!

Beginner actually looks best to me
Need to get those get squirrely push sticks on your website immediately
Working on it
Agreed! I'd pay for the SVG file.
I sometimes realises how Scandinavian I am. My thought was something like "Ah, so you go from sleek and nice to tacky and overworked?"
I have to say, I absolutely *hate* the first cabinet.
Great video. I wish you guys would be more in depth for those of us who are new to cabinet builds.
Definitely going to build a few of theses
Is it just me or did the cabinets go from modern to traditional to ranch house
Right?
Edit: I like them none the less......
More classy more expensive lol
Ok i’m not alone
That's because over the years people got lazy and that's why the "modern" look is the easiest to make.

I would like to know how long you spend building each type on these 3-level series.
Jordan , 4 hours, Sam 8 Hours, PRO , 16 hours
All three cabinets look great. I say yes to teaching your guys to cut dove tails. You made a great lunch for your guys as well. Have a great day.
it is 00.06 in my country, gonna watching your video you just upload 1 hour ago. salam.
FEED THE BEAST!!
Yes dovetail class
I like how they clamp the 2 side together and cut the toe kick at the same time
Every now and then there's a glimpse of the PPE you're using. I'd love a video on this. There's almost nothing on this in the YT woodworking world.
Any way we can get Travel Coffee Mugs in the shop? Wouldn't mind a Squirrelly Squad Yeti style cup!!! Please and thanks!!! Let's get this upvoted to make it happen!!
We have regular mugs, maybe we'll do some for the summer!
fantastic 😀👌
Sams is best design
I do love sams!
MORE OF THESE PLEASE!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘

This video was super informative! What are space balls though? I don't want to start a project without vital information like that :/.
Great video! On the pro version I noticed you attached the face to the carcass with a central biscuit slot. Wood love to see that process of layout.
Great work guys 🇧🇸🇧🇸🎖
Good job guys! Really inspiring, keep up the good work!
Please teach them dove tails and us too!! Such a cool joinery but looks daunting
You got it Matthew!
I think if you teach Sam and Jordan you should teach us all!
Pretty fantastic work, guys! Really nice! 😃
Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
Awesome Squirrel Push stick, why is not in your shop
Would love to see a grill station build for a kamado grill done on this series! The bells and whistle buildings would really set the levels apart!
Love the Nick Offerman portrait.
What router bits did you use to make the door panels for your cabinet John?
-Cope and Stick bits for the door frames (they’re manufactured and sold in sets)
-Raised Panel bit for the door panels
Congratulations are in order! Enjoy Annie Elizabeth!
With Summer coming up, you should do a "3 levels" for yard games. Maybe cornhole or ladder ball.
You should sell those Squirrelly push sticks, I for sure would want one!
Oh they’re coming
I love this videos!!!
Saw the flag in the background. Semper Fi, my brother! Nice cabinets and video!
3:07 is what made me subscribe to this channel
Jordan is my spirit animal
Dude, like you, I like to transfer zero knowledge and show off my tools. Awesome job of teaching no one anything.
Dang, those tacos look amazing!!

John my friend I need that squierly push block!

Sweeeet work 💪
Where can I get the plans for the squirrel push-stick!?!
You cant, its an actual petrfieid squirrell!
@@John_Malecki I didn't realize "get squirrely" was literal. Thanks for the info!
I like how Jordan even used the squeeze clamp as a beginner would.
Please let us see you attempting to not kill these two while teaching them to do dovetails.
Cool Shot at 11:50💪💪

I’ve been waiting for this.
What about building a separate base instead of the toe kick? Isn't that easier to level?
sound track list would be nice.
“You jag” I love catching the small Pittsburgh slang😂
Love these 3 level builds! 🤘
What spray were you using for these projects? Thank you
What species wood, stain color and top coat did you use for the pro level cabinets. Thanks!

Downloaded the pro plans for a bathroom vanity.
Lol. “It’s gonna kill me”. I really enjoy this channel.
You should do a work bench build next
You guys should do 3 levels of pocket doors.
What finish are you applying for both the raw plywood and your stained hardwoods?
Hello, watching your channel from rural Scotland ... I'm curious what finish you're using that you apply with the spray gun? Thanks a lot.
Simple but could be fun 3 ways challenge. Bird houses!
What's the brand and model of that disk sander with dust collection? The one I see you using on the professional doors?
“And even though I can’t eat them, I can still play with them.” John Malecki 2021
Which is structurally better - an integrated toe kick cut out of the side panel, or one where it’s added onto to main box?
What's with not using Robertson screws? Especially on the pro cabinet.
We ran out of 1.25” so we used star heads
