English is my native language. I've studied Spanish, Czech, French, a little German, and Portuguese. I speak Portuguese as my second language because my husband is from Brazil.

I have a full-time teaching job at a college in California, so I don't currently offer English lessons online. However, I may do that in the future, so check back!

I hope this video cleared up any doubts you had about how to use "wish." And thanks for providing the Portuguese translation. To be honest, I don't know how to use "wish" in Portuguese. The subjunctive or conditional structures in Portuguese always trip me up. :)

Hello Steeban, Thanks for being here! notice that if you're talking about a past wish, you need to use past perfect in the second clause: I wish I had watched your video.

I wish I were scientist.
I wish the poverty would finish soon in the world.
I wish you more happiness in your life.
Good examples!! Note that the past one needs this verb form to show past: I wish I could have met you in the past.
These all are mixed conditionals
Correct and can you understand all those are those have excaly the same meaning what I've texted in bracket???
1. If I had known about your birthday , I would be with you right now .
( in past I didn't know about his birthday ,and right now I'm not with him)
Past condition ---- present result
2.
If I had got the job , I'd be moving new York city next month.
( in past I didn't get the job , and I won't be moving to new York city next month .)
Past condition --- future result
3.
If I were taller , I would have been selected in base ball team.
( in present I'm not taller , and in past I didn't get selected)
Present conditional ----- past result.

If I were taller ,I'd play basket ball with you next week .
( in present I'm not taller , and in future next week I won't play basket ball )
Present conditional ----- future result .

If I wasn't moving to LA next month , I would have accepted that job .
( in future I will be moving to LA but unfortunately in past cuz I knew that I'd move to LA that's why I didn't accept the job)
Future conditional ---- past result

If were not getting selected next week , I wouldn't be looking for dress right now .
( I'm getting selected next week , I'm here to buy a dress )

Mam can stative verbs be used with passive progressive tenses and progressive models cuz we know we don't use them with continuous ,but here they have been used in continuous but in passive ,if those were in active , it wouldn't be fine ...
It was being agreed .( agree is stative verb but still it is being used with passive progressive )
Cat was being loved.(love is stative verbs still it is being used passive progressive )
It wasn't being meant.
It would be being hated.
It might be being guessed right now .( guess is stative verb and it is used with continuous in modal but cuz it's in passive it is correct)
It should be being looked .
Lecture is being heard.
This religion was being believed .
It would be being remembered .
Here I uses gerund verbs + ing and gerund verb + for +ing
