Thanks Jenna! This was a breeze for me, but you know what wasn't? Reading the Wager! That's right, I just finished reading the book and I loved it! Ngl, I'm not an avid reader but I chose to read it on your account. The story behind the book caught my attention when you shared it in a video. However, because I'm too lazy to read I kept waiting and waiting, hoping that the movie would come out soon. Well, it hadn’t, so I rolled up my sleeves and started reading. It was difficult at first especially with all the technical vocabulary about ships and sailing but I learned to skip over those words and continue reading. Some of the horrific details were unbelievable. I also enjoyed the part where you get to see how some common English phrases came to be, like "under the weather" and "in the air".
Next up: The Lost City of Z

Oh, I'm so happy to hear this! I'll admit that the start of the book was slow, and after a while, I skimmed some of the details leading up to the launch of the expedition. But I had read so many good things about the book and like adventure stories, so I knew I had to stick with it. I agree about the incredible details.
Did I also recommend Lost City of Z? Or did you decide to read that next because you saw that the same author wrote it? It is SO good. I think I enjoyed it even more! Let me know what you think.

@@LearnAcademicEnglish Yes, you briefly mentioned Lost City of Z when you talked about the author. We'll see! There's a movie too, but I don't know, something tell me they didn't do a good adaptation!

I am from Hiroshima in Japan, but I have written a brief essay in English about how to survive on a deserted island. I would appreciate it if you could respond to it.
I think water is the most important of the three things for survival. You cannot survive without water even for a short period of time, while you can live for about a week without food as long as you have water. The second most important thing is food. It goes without saying that without food, you would not be able to survive. The last thing is fire. Of course, it is useful in not only keeping wild animals away but also allowing you to cook a wide range of vegetables and animal meat, making them more edible. However, you can still live without it, unlike water or food.

Looks great. I would suggest adding another sentence of explanation to your second point about food.

Hello, I think 'The undersigned' is a plural noun. Therefore there should not be a 'S' with the verb 'Agree'.
The undersigned agrees to pay all debts to the bank. What do you think about that?

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish
      @LearnAcademicEnglish  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

It depends on how many people are signing the document. If it is just one, it can be like 'he' or 'she'

"I want them to go to the party with me."
"I look forward to seeing you soon."
"To prepare for my upcoming job interview, I need to learn a lot of new vocabulary words." / "To prepare for my upcoming job interview, I need to learn a lot of vocabulary expressions/phrases."
"Are you busy? Let's come to the new yoga studio."
Teacher Jenna, I have a question: Can I say "I want them to go with me to the party." instead of "I want them to go to the party with me."?
Overall, this lesson was short and straight to the point: I really appreciate it.
    Thank you!
    Regards from Ukraine!

THanks for your comment. Yes, you can say both "I want them to go with me to the party." and "I want them to go to the party with me." I would be more likely to say the second one, but both are grammatically correct.

      Adam and Sarah's wedding
When 2 people own one thing, put the apostrophe after the second person's name.

Sorry you thought it was too short! I find it people don’t watch much more than about three minutes nowadays so I try not to make my videos too long. However, I have a few other grammar correction videos that I have already made that might interest you if you’re looking for more similar content
