Love your videos bro and I’m addicted. Binging a lot of them. But say one more time „right“ at the end of a sentence and I’m coming to Copenhagen to slap you with my April brewer. Love you, thanks.
Can you compare remove vs not remove the leftover under there? I heard that seperating the leftover from the knocker "makes more even grindsize." Some of us were looking for a way to make better filter coffee out of 078s so some are trying things.
No science behind it, but I would personally try to do that. I’ll collect my chaff/static/fines in a jar and occasionally repurpose it when I’m baking and want a little extra florality or I guess you could even do a cold brew type thing with it but no matter what grinder I would try to avoid the static. Usually only amounts to .1g per brew anyway so not like it’s greatly reducing your bean quantity.
@@mikeydoesit The hypothesis was that fines are more likely to stick more often than the larger particles so its the fastest way to remove fines is to not add it. its the same reason some people would remove fines through catch cup's walls.
Thanks for the great videos Patrik - really appreciate them!🙏🏻 Quick question re grind size if it's OK... If you're brewing your standard dose around 9, roughly what setting would you go up to for your 500ml recipe? (I like brewing lower TDS, April-style, so your brew guide with different volumes is a great reference for me, except that's with the Commandante etc. Be great to have a reference for the Sculptor!) Thanks!
@@coffeewithapril You rock for answering my question. I was worried you would say, “You’ll have to wait for the comparison vid to find out!” In other words, liked and subbed
It is/was a collaboration with Loquat out of Los Angeles. Not sure if it’s still for sale I know a few weeks ago they were doing early bird pricing but might be worth seeking out!
I’m using every singleVariable here . 078 and the April . But if I’m Higher than a 3 on the sculptor I’m getting 1 minute total brew so no clue how you are at 9! Is that not cold brew setting ! I like around a 2.7 with a natural in April .
Most likely the calibration of our two grinders are different. Try re-setting the burrs. If not that always consider that the green coffee, roasting style, pouring structure and water also impacts the brewing time.
Please do a comparison with Fellow Ode 2, and your preferred SSP burrs for pour over.
That is in the making and scheduled to launch later this summer.
@@coffeewithapril has this video been released? I’m very interested!
@@forwonder thank you for asking. We haven't released it as we are moving away from product reviews/comparison and focusing more on our own products.
Looking forward to your 78s review. Cheers
yes, when is it coming?

Hahaha, I have lots of love for Patrik as well + have the same sentiment around him saying "right" 🤣

Thank you for watching, we will look into it. At the moment we are not looking for a more uniform grind size. Rather the opposite.
@@coffeewithapril maybe you should try that on 078s
Hi again,
We recored a video on the comparison and it will go live sometime in July.

Most likely close to 12 - 13.

Loving my duo april dripper & k uktra.
Is this grinder worth upgrading from k ultra ?
Thank you for watching. This is still our go-to grinder in the office. And it's sitting next to some other really expensive grinders.
Disregarding the cost difference, is this generally a better product than the Ode 2?
Thank you for watching. We enjoy both grinders but if we were to choose one it's currently leaning towards the Sculptor.

Will the yellow April brewer be available outside of Loquat? I love this color, but unfortunately they don't ship to where I live.
Thank you for asking Emanoel. It's a limited color collaboration so they will be the only one selling it.
Looks like the 78mm burrs are still not being produced by SSP. I'd feel better about the purchase if they were.
The stock burrs in this grinder are great. We don't see any reason to switch them out.
Love the yellow brewer color

Thank you Canaan. It's a custom collaboration with Loquat in L.A.

I can't get this brewer to perform to save my life. Clogs clogs clogs

Why not discard those extra fines and the chaff?
We don't find them being an issue in terms of taste. Some extra fines can be useful.
