Apparently Kong and his family ended up on Skull Island because they were in exile after losing a war. 7:22 I believe that the skull crawlers killed her family and Ilene basically became her guardian so Jia is allowed to stay on the island with Kong. The reason they put Kong in the dome was to keep him and Godzilla from constantly fighting cause neither would submit to the other being the alpha. The little girl Jia is played by a deaf actress from a deaf family. I love they were able to use a real deaf actress and not just someone that learns sign language. 27:16 if she would’ve kidnapped Jia Kong wouldve let the ship go. In Skull Island, if you remember, there is a natural shield that is a storm surrounding the Island. In this film, that storm decided to make landfall. Monarch had to contain Kong to protect him at the very least because Monarch believe his existence is essential (and for research purposes) Also, Jia is the last of the Iwi tribe.
As others have said, Skull Island was close to sinking into the ocean, with most of the ecosystem dead with Kong and Jia as the last remnants (the novel states that it was due to Ghidorah causinf a cataclysmic storm across the world at the climax of KOTM). So in the end, they needed to find a new place for Kong or else he'd die. Also, Mechagodzilla was haunted by Ghidorah's consciousness. Each time the Mecha was activated and letting out a signal, it was actually Ghidorah's roar hence why Godzilla was so agitated and pissed off because his old nemesis is still alive and provoking him (Apex even used this as a smear campaign to make people hate Godzilla because his attacks seemed random). Mechagodzilla was essentially Ghidorah reincarnated, which is why Godzilla is so mad at it, and why the Mecha was so focused on and sadistically brutalizing him; it's Ghidorah reeking vengeance and torturing Godzilla before killing him.
A bit of backstory on why Kong was in the biodome: the bat Titan Camazotz brought one of King Ghidorah's storm remnants to merge with the storm surrounding Skull Island to create a permanent superstorm that wiped out all of the natives and most of the other life on the island so he could take over. Kong and a military team managed to defeat Camazotz and banish him back to the Hollow Earth, but the only way to save Kong was to build the biodome.
Even more horrific, it's not the robot becoming sentient, the robot was literally possessed by the evil spirit of Godzilla's arch nemesis King Ghidorah.
I knew you'd like this one, Kong and Godzilla are Iconic they both are the most entertaining part of these films I'm really looking forward to the new one coming out soon.

The fight between Godzilla and Kong, they roar each other. Kong showing that he's not gonna surrender by roar back on Godzilla. Illena said in the beginning that Kong bows to no one and he's also considered as an Alpha Titans. Even nearly death also Kong didn't surrender. That's Kong. Even in the second round win for Kong and the third he lost. It shows only Kong stand in front Godzilla. Kong species fought Godzilla before.
The REAL reason they couldn’t let Kong stay on Skull Island long term is because the island was completely consumed by the constant storms (which wiped out the native Iwi tribe) that hid the island until it was discovered in the 70’s in the movie. The containment facility did provide Kong a habitat, but not a long term one. So it was either use Kong to lead them to the Hollow Earth, or let him die on Skull Island.
Ghidorah took control of MechaGodzilla to destroy Godzilla and Kong but not the robot thinking for itself. What makes this scary is that we don't know if Ghidorah is truly dead since his mind is literally a supercomputer. I won't be surprised in future monster verse film we see him planning something huge against his enemies while living within the internet.
Watch the movie again they couldn't leave Kong where he was and the reason the containment was built around him is because the storm that was surrounding skull Island started moving inland

For the first time I'm watching your reaction to a film I haven't seen. But I'm intrigued by the new Godzilla and Kong movie, so I figured I'd catch up with you guys...at least it makes it fun!
King Kong never submitted to Godzilla. Godzilla respected Kong for not backing down and instead roaring back so he spared him. I mean Godzilla was just going after MechaGodzilla the whole time until he sensed Kong (another alpha Titan) on the boat and challenged him.
I so love, how they've, even in the old movies, how they conveyed that these creatures are highly intelligent, not just obviously how Kong, as a primate, and in real life been primates have been found to be adaptive, intelligent, using tools, to tackle problem solving,..but also Godzilla,..in that he realized he could power up the ax with his atomic breath, and that there was a sense of fair play, when in stead of killing Kong, Godzilla just wanted him to yield,...as has been done in human fights, sword fights, or some hand to hand battles,..you the opponent, when you know your opposite has bested you, and you admit your defeat, in honor, respect of the battle,..not all animals in nature fight to the death,..many yield their position, give up their territory, to live and fight another day,..just love how that was done here,...they, the titans are enormous creatures, destructive creatures, but they're not stupid mindless animals,..love how they're emotions are more translated in these cgi characterizations, it's brilliant,.so glad you injoyed it, so enjoyed watching it with you,..I highly recommend going to see the new one,.or are you gonna wait to see it with us om here😉, ..Godspeed, Peace ✌

Directors commentary for King Of Monsters says that Outpost 32 was a nod to Outpost 31 from The Thing. I believe the pouring alcohol into the computer to short it out was another nod to The Thing, as McReady does this to the chess computer at the begging of The Thing.

Kong was in the biodome because, after King of the Monsters, Ghidorah's storms mixed with the storm around Skull Island. This wiped out the natives of the island and the rest of the ecosystem on Skull Island, with the exception of whatever Monarch could put into the dome. Godzilla and Kong's species have a long blood feud. We don't know how it started (In the movies anyway) but Kong and Godzilla kinda buried the hatchet in this movie.

Overall, Godzilla is the true Alpha. They really made MechaGodzilla omnipotent here, stronger than Godzilla. In the past, Godzilla was able to take on MechaGodzilla no problem. I kinda wish they would have gone the way of the past, where MechaGodzilla appears first with a Godzilla skin, and people think, why is Godzilla acting like this, and then the real Godzilla shows up and burns off Mecha's Godzilla skin, exposing the robot underneath.
While they were chatting, they missed a few best shots, like the one when Godzilla was laughing and Toying with Kong until the charged axe was boned on him 😂. Also that Kong knows the art of making and using tools so Kong's ancestors used to hunt other Godzilla's for power tools. Also Mech Godzilla took over OG because OG dug an entire hole through earth, fought muscled up Kong and then the ancient similar energy with Gidhora and modern weapons against OG made him weak at that moment. Kong charged the axe with Ghidora being removed (major thing) was able to dismantle Mecha (What I think is with Gidhora removed, OG would have also settled up the Mecha) but hey it's okay, Kong was also to be redeemed 🔥. The chain for me is like Ghidora, Godzilla, Kong, Mecha, Mothera.
Kong 2 idea Kong: The lost King Enemy: Biollante In this movie kong get's god of apes title and he will have new attack: Stone Pulse -- He will knockback titans, also covering them in buildings/stones. -- He will be 25ft. taller and 3x more stronger, his glove will have attack similiar to mechagodzilla punch, he will also one shot Jet Jaguar in movie Kong will also have new weapon called Titan Sword: Titan Sword is as strong as Atomic Breath from Godzilla 2021. I loved these movies and cannot wait for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. Also Godzilla Minus One is one of the best Godzilla movies ever made along with the 1954 movie, I highly recommend watching the original movies

Seeing Godzilla and Kong fight is awesome enough especially after seeing the 1962 king Kong vs Godzilla film but getting Mechagodzilla as well just spectacular. Also the reason why skull island is pretty much destroyed is thanks to Ghidorah storm also the skullcrawlers waking up thanks to Ghidorah. Also you don't see the other titans from the last movie cause they're asleep. Also no Godzilla and Kong are not friends at the end of this. It's just mutual respect. Well it wasn't really the human's fault. Just the Apex guys, but yeah, Godzilla does have good reasons to be pissed.
Mechagodzilla has always been one of Godzilla's deadliest opponents. Practically every appearance he has, he nearly kills Godzilla one way or another.
And almost each time Godzilla isn't in his prime before the fight starts whereas Mecha is in Tip Top Mint condition 😂.

Mechagodzilla was essentially Ghidorah reincarnated, which is why Godzilla is so mad at it, and why the Mecha was so focused on and sadistically brutalizing him; it's Ghidorah reeking vengeance and torturing Godzilla before killing him.

In the novelization, Ghidorah transfered his conciousness to Ren Serizawa's brain the moment his Mechagodzilla-body was destroyed.
A bit of backstory on why Kong was in the biodome: the bat Titan Camazotz brought one of King Ghidorah's storm remnants to merge with the storm surrounding Skull Island to create a permanent superstorm that wiped out all of the natives and most of the other life on the island so he could take over. Kong and a military team managed to defeat Camazotz and banish him back to the Hollow Earth, but the only way to save Kong was to build the biodome.
Even more horrific, it's not the robot becoming sentient, the robot was literally possessed by the evil spirit of Godzilla's arch nemesis King Ghidorah.
I knew you'd like this one, Kong and Godzilla are Iconic they both are the most entertaining part of these films I'm really looking forward to the new one coming out soon.
The thing about this is that kong was young in skull island. Hes fully grown in this. Which is why he is a lot bigger

The fight between Godzilla and Kong, they roar each other. Kong showing that he's not gonna surrender by roar back on Godzilla. Illena said in the beginning that Kong bows to no one and he's also considered as an Alpha Titans. Even nearly death also Kong didn't surrender. That's Kong. Even in the second round win for Kong and the third he lost. It shows only Kong stand in front Godzilla. Kong species fought Godzilla before.
Ain't no way y'all thought one of them was going to die knowing they're both in the sequel.
The REAL reason they couldn’t let Kong stay on Skull Island long term is because the island was completely consumed by the constant storms (which wiped out the native Iwi tribe) that hid the island until it was discovered in the 70’s in the movie. The containment facility did provide Kong a habitat, but not a long term one.
So it was either use Kong to lead them to the Hollow Earth, or let him die on Skull Island.
You guys should check the evolution of Godzillas atomic breath. That way you can see the different Godzilla designs

Ghidorah took control of MechaGodzilla to destroy Godzilla and Kong but not the robot thinking for itself. What makes this scary is that we don't know if Ghidorah is truly dead since his mind is literally a supercomputer. I won't be surprised in future monster verse film we see him planning something huge against his enemies while living within the internet.
If it was, then Apex Cybernetic are fools to bring Ghidorah's head.
In the novelization of the movie, Ghidora is still alive and has taken over the mind of Serizawa(the one in the seat that got shocked.)
I think Ghidorah and the AI used to help the operator fused into mechagodzilla. It did have a mind of its own in a few previous versions

Always Team Godzilla but Kong got my respect in this movie. This feels like the Phase 1 ending of the MonsterVerse
King Kong never submitted to Godzilla. Godzilla respected Kong for not backing down and instead roaring back so he spared him. I mean Godzilla was just going after MechaGodzilla the whole time until he sensed Kong (another alpha Titan) on the boat and challenged him.
I so love, how they've, even in the old movies, how they conveyed that these creatures are highly intelligent, not just obviously how Kong, as a primate, and in real life been primates have been found to be adaptive, intelligent, using tools, to tackle problem solving,..but also Godzilla,..in that he realized he could power up the ax with his atomic breath, and that there was a sense of fair play, when in stead of killing Kong, Godzilla just wanted him to yield,...as has been done in human fights, sword fights, or some hand to hand battles,..you the opponent, when you know your opposite has bested you, and you admit your defeat, in honor, respect of the battle,..not all animals in nature fight to the death,..many yield their position, give up their territory, to live and fight another day,..just love how that was done here,...they, the titans are enormous creatures, destructive creatures, but they're not stupid mindless animals,..love how they're emotions are more translated in these cgi characterizations, it's brilliant,.so glad you injoyed it, so enjoyed watching it with you,..I highly recommend going to see the new one,.or are you gonna wait to see it with us om here😉, ..Godspeed, Peace ✌

Regarding you saying since when does those firecrackers hurt you Godzilla. I believe when he’s charging up his atomic breath his back fins become super sensitive so when those big missile’s hits him it does hurt
I thought the gills were his only real sensitive spot and the missiles any other time mostly just halt the charge up of his atomic breath..

Directors commentary for King Of Monsters says that Outpost 32 was a nod to Outpost 31 from The Thing. I believe the pouring alcohol into the computer to short it out was another nod to The Thing, as McReady does this to the chess computer at the begging of The Thing.

Mecha-Godzilla is a classic well known character from the old Japanese Godzilla films just like King Ghidorah and Mothra
Kong was in the biodome because, after King of the Monsters, Ghidorah's storms mixed with the storm around Skull Island.
This wiped out the natives of the island and the rest of the ecosystem on Skull Island, with the exception of whatever Monarch could put into the dome.
Godzilla and Kong's species have a long blood feud. We don't know how it started (In the movies anyway) but Kong and Godzilla kinda buried the hatchet in this movie.

Overall, Godzilla is the true Alpha. They really made MechaGodzilla omnipotent here, stronger than Godzilla. In the past, Godzilla was able to take on MechaGodzilla no problem. I kinda wish they would have gone the way of the past, where MechaGodzilla appears first with a Godzilla skin, and people think, why is Godzilla acting like this, and then the real Godzilla shows up and burns off Mecha's Godzilla skin, exposing the robot underneath.
While they were chatting, they missed a few best shots, like the one when Godzilla was laughing and Toying with Kong until the charged axe was boned on him 😂. Also that Kong knows the art of making and using tools so Kong's ancestors used to hunt other Godzilla's for power tools. Also Mech Godzilla took over OG because OG dug an entire hole through earth, fought muscled up Kong and then the ancient similar energy with Gidhora and modern weapons against OG made him weak at that moment. Kong charged the axe with Ghidora being removed (major thing) was able to dismantle Mecha (What I think is with Gidhora removed, OG would have also settled up the Mecha) but hey it's okay, Kong was also to be redeemed 🔥. The chain for me is like Ghidora, Godzilla, Kong, Mecha, Mothera.

Kong will also have new weapon called Titan Sword: Titan Sword is as strong as Atomic Breath from Godzilla 2021. With this weapon he will kill biollante.
This weapon also have power to shoot lighting ( as strong as Ghidora's electric or smth breath). This weapon can also heal kong and regenerate itself. Kong will het this sword after killing Anguirus.

Just three days away from the new empire release and I can't wait 😁🔥🔥🔥. Seeing Godzilla and Kong fight is awesome enough especially after seeing the 1962 king Kong vs Godzilla film but getting Mechagodzilla as well just spectacular. Also the reason why skull island is pretty much destroyed is thanks to Ghidorah storm also the skullcrawlers waking up thanks to Ghidorah. Also you don't see the other titans from the last movie cause they're asleep. Also no Godzilla and Kong are not friends at the end of this. It's just mutual respect. As long as they put their egos and beefs with each other aside especially what's gonna happen in the next movie. 29:33 no that was monster talk... Godzilla was saying either submit or die Kong was like kill me I'm here kill me I dare you. He basically rather die than submit to Godzilla. Godzilla showed Kong some respect so he left him to die a peaceful death.
I mean the little girl was the only one from the village still alive and maybe you forgot but Kong was friendly with the people who lived there. Also as bad as you might feel, they put the dome up to hide him from Godzilla who would have showed up already because he basically did a tour and put all the titans in check.
