    Pretty area, nice water & fish, and even clearer videoing.

      Thanks Bill! I'm really aiming to create a visually appealing video along w/ the fishing so I appreciate that!

    I recognize that River. Fished it many times never when it was frozen over. Great White Water kayaking.Stayed at Sportsman's Lodge many times when the Schenks owned it.

      It's a lovely little spot close to town, for sure!

    Nice video, and it's crazy to see that area so iced up & the parking lot empty! I did fish upstream, at the day use area back in late December, and saw similar conditions. I'm not sure what the reasoning is for tenkara vs. a proper euro setup. A euro setup would have likely eliminated your need to step into the pool early on, along with providing a number of other advantages.

      Thanks for commenting! Imagine how iced up it must be now with the cold weather we are having! I’d like a euro setup for when I’m fishing tailwaters with the potential for large fish just to get a reel. Along with being able to make long casts in bigger rivers for streamer fishing and dries farther away. For the poudre I’d probably still choose the tenkara rod half the time, unless I just wanted to change things up. Love the extra reach of a long tenkara rod, and I genuinely enjoy fighting fish without a reel. Thanks again!

      Thanks so much dude! Lets fish together this year. I've been researching a ton of places in WY I wanna hit. Probably gonna pick up an annual license.

      @@FlickyFlies we should! I am moving back to Lander in May, so if you wanna fish the Wind River Mountains or the Wind River, we should do it!

    Sweet video! Looks like tough winter conditions to fish in. So ready for spring and summer! How do those crocs do on the ice??

      Nothing exists that are better than crocs. Deep down you know this to be true.

    Beautiful video. What length of line where you using?

    • @FlickyFlies
      @FlickyFlies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Chris! The rod is just shy of 12 feet, line is about 13 feet with maybe 3 feet of tippet attached to that. It’s a bit long, but gives slightly better reach when using flies that aren’t crazy heavy (so that they can drift in the current vs just bomb back towards me).

    Hey man! Great video. What’s the line you are using?

      Thank you! I'm using the Uzaki nisshin #3.5 level line.

    Is this close to Boulder. Looking for something close :)

    • @FlickyFlies
      @FlickyFlies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s close but not in Boulder. Seems there is open water along a lot of the front range rivers now. Get out there before the giant snow storm hits in a couple days!

    you standing on the ice, isnt dangerous?

    • @FlickyFlies
      @FlickyFlies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely a little, I know this spot really well though and I was mostly standing on a rocky area with just a foot or so of water. Gets deeper out in the holes I was fishing.
