In her defense (and as someone who has suffered with bad acne my whole adult life), I wouldn't look in the "bad skin" comment too much. Bad skin is another way of saying problematic/misbehaving skin... which it is, let's face it. The skin is acting up in a way that affects people negatively physically and mentally - therefore it is bad in that sense. People are beautiful despite their breakouts, but it's just a simple way to refer to it. I take no offense to this comment.

Isotretinoin saved my skin and my confidence in my early 20s! I tried everything and I was lucky to have a good dermatologist that helped me on this journey, way before all the information was available like it is today on the internet. My treatment took 8 months and on the first month my acne was almost all gone, my face was clear and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’m grateful for her. Treating inside out is the best way for severe cases.

It’s horrific that she is being made to wait so long for a referral when her acne is so severe. The mental anguish this causes is no joke! I took a course Roaccutane in my late 20s and unfortunately my acne did return, although not as bad and has been managed since with Dianette. However I am due to come off it as I’ve been on it a long time. Looks like I’ll be going private if I need to see a dermatologist again!
After a few years they refuse to give you dinette again. Was on it five years then refused to ever be given it again even private derms won't. Get off it now its worse when you first do, I'm 4 months on spirolactone and it's moving now x
@ng00ntol14 100mg has virtually cleared it after 6 months. With small flare ups. I don't feel the need to increase my dose I think it'll be gone entirely in another few months. It's been the best non birth control acne medication I've tried. You cant get pregnant on it and please use appropriate protection- it causes birth defects.
Roaccutane is the answer, It's a miracle for the treatment of acne. I spent a lifetime trying everything under the sun and that was the only thing that shifted my adult acne.
I also think we need to talk about the aftermath of getting rid of the acne because the scarring it can leave behind can be even worse than the actual acne it self and it’s important you have a good skin care to help fix that damage or reduce it when having active acne
I started getting acne at age 11. I’m 31 now and still get spots. I started using Epiduo gel from the doctors about 3 years ago. It has helped a lot. I don’t have big breakouts anymore. It’s a very strong cream though so it does dry your skin out, and if you use too much it will burn your skin and leave you red and peeling. So I’m careful to only use it when necessary. All those years I never went to the doctors assuming it would just go away eventually. My mum never took me as a teenager either. It massively affected how I am now as an adult. I am very very introverted. My teen years I had friends. But I avoided at all costs talking to anybody new because I didn’t want anybody to look directly at me. Now, although I’ve got better over the years, I’m quite shy and not the chattiest in the room. So I believe it had a massive effect on the way I am today. Those important years developing my personality were hindered by me just wanting the ground to swallow me up.

The thing that worked for me was the supplement DIM. I had terrible cystic acne all along my jawline and neck for a good year or more. Big painful cysts that just couldn't be drained or ever let up. I started taking DIM, a cheap supplement like $15/month, i ordered on Amazon. I started taking it and within ONE week, the acne started to improve. With ONE MONTH, the acne was almost completely healed and it hasn't come back for the past two years. I still take the same 400mg/day i started with. Wait actually i couldn't get the same brand a few months ago so i switched and got a 300mg/day brand and it's still been working. It may not work for everyone but I've read many success stories and my own experience being a reason to at least try. Bless this gal for sharing her journey and persevering. zinc gluconate and vitamin d3 helped me so much
I’m 35 and still flare ups mainly my t-zone back of my shoulders and few on my chest
Highly recommend trying the Liz Earle cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser it’s a miracle worker I also have mentioned it to friends family members and customers at work . If only I’d known about it in my teens and 20’s
Do food allergy and tolerance test. Why doesn’t any one tell people that food intolerance/allergies like milk, milk products and peanut can cause acne? They just want us to keep buying products and drugs so that they can make money.
Try the some by mi body wash trust me
This drug nearly killed me both physically and mentally.! Its so dangerous….
How?
@@SarahMelissaJones physically I lost my left eye and was unable to walk/move for 6 months, mentally i struggle with PTSD, severe depression, panic attacks and major OCD's...
@@AllanMilla-h7g I'm so sorry to hear that. I had also bad side effects from roaccutane but not at this level. Altough I was depressed and mentally unstable too when I took it
I’m a male and I had it as a teenager. Clearing up in my early 20s but then came back in my 30s. Still have an issue now and I’m 42. What the heck! 😅 It has caused me significant anxiety in the past. I refused roactuane as the side effects are quite extreme
I went on roaccutane, for only 2 months. It did work, my hair didnt get greasy it was bliss! But then i got joint pain (potential side effect) and got taken off it. My acne slowly came back, but im not willing to try roaccutane again.
Zineryt was a game changer for me
... and me!
I wouldn't use a long term antibiotic. Only treats the bacterial infection
Excuse me. I used it for a year and it changed my life. My GP said it was absolutely fine. Stop trying to be a Dr.
Oh yeah and that was 26 years ago. Zineryt was amazing. It was a game changer. It changed my life. I had a superb GP. Job done.
@acquiesce100 I've been using it for around 2 years now under the supervision of my doctor & it's been a Godsend. Whenever I take a short break from it my acne returns, so yes, it's been a game changer for me too & it not also deals with infection it keeps the type of acne we suffer from at bay 😊
I get rid of my acnes and skin infection with fruit fasting no joke my body odor and acnes all gone

Plz share details
My acne cured when I stopped consuming dairy and I also use sudacrem
Sudacrem is fab
The acne doesn’t detract from her prettiness.
I had excruciating acne, it hurt so much. It was swollen. Nothing anyone said worked. Dr said it was cystic acne or hormone related. If this sounds like you, try and have a baby and breastfeed haha been clear ever since! This acne didn't happen until adulthood but i did stop the combined pill after having since i was 13. No GP has ever given me roaccutane
What to do if you're male? 😂😂
Ive had acne since i was 8. Im 34 now. Right now its so painful. Im so depressed 😔
also in my 30s and also suffering! well, suffering much less cause i started using tretinoin and so far thats the only thing that works
which one?
@@lolavang9432 Altreno, i use 0.05 which is the smallest amount and it absolutely works
Her acne looks a lot like my pustular rosacea, which after several months cleared up within less than a week after starting an antibiotic.
Sometimes its hormonal.
Hoping this Dr helps her and puts her on accutane
I took minocin for bad acne and it worked and a roll stick called dalicin which burns when you put it on but it works 👍
I remember those. Had both those drugs.
@@jaynekittycat9252 hope you are ok now
Parasite also cause it, after 4 dermatologist failed to cure me. I used sulphur 10% cream to cure mine. It even spread on neck back and chest.
Let food be thy medicine
I stopped eating sugar and decreased fruit consumption to two portions per day- acne gone entirely. Also my thyroid condition got cured.
I wish the doctors said that before prescribing hormones
not all are food related. cystic acne like hers could also be hormonal, they’re tons of factors for having them. easy for you to say
@@jee492 i agree. I just feel food plays a part to an extent, having lived with eczema all my life. Its not always the answer but I feel its crucial maintain and stick to a strict healthy diet.
Food has nothing to do with it in some people.
@hobo1704 well, if you vla it ne to be hormones then food always has something to do with it.
What was the name of thing he mentioned for rebalancing the microbiome? Filobioma??
Most of the time it acne shows up on the one place you don't want it is your face I know I had it when I was a kid as the years went by it cleared up but it could destroy your confidence with women.
My acne sadly came back 2 months after taking roacutanne for half a year. Not as worse this time but I guess i need to do a second treatment for it to be fully gone
Does roaccutane also clears up acne marks?
No it doesn’t. Treatments like microneedling and laser can help.
@@jessicasinead2410 Thankyou
I don't agree with how much they are promoting roaccutane in this video. It is not the only answer and its side effects should not be underestimated.
So tru
There's no need to struggle with this type of acne. Isotretinoin will definitely solve it.
Ive been on accutane twice, am currently on Dianette, spironolactone and using topical antibiotics and i STILL dont have perfect skin. So annoying 😢
wait same i’ve been on accutane twice and still have acne!!! ive got a dermatologist appointment soon so hopefully i can get on either spiro or tretinion cream
What you wash your hair and conditioner s you use effects your skin a cold tar shampoo helps (polytar) excellent
look like Jess from love island ❤😂
2% BHA salicylic acid and 14% glycolic acid = amazing results
Hi can you help me by naming the product you use ❤
@@Wen00.4 Of course - there are many out there so the choice is yours but the ones i like are Paula's Choice 2% BHA and Alpha Skin Care 14% glycolic acid. Don't use together - i cycle them - usually Paula's (PM) and Alpha (AM). I may give them a break too - and shop around, prices vary quite a bit
@@saintetienne755 thank you sm. Very much appreciated

I had it no problems ever since
I didn't know the body made grease
Accutane has no bad effects at all at very low dosage. Not over - dryness or suicidal thoughts
Sorry but it does have terrible side effects that is why the MHRA are tightening up the rules.
Agree
It’s a hormonal imbalance in her natural system (without contraception), likely lifestyle/diet and psychological stress/issues.
Is roaccutane and accutane the same?
If they're both isotretinoin then yes
Giving up gluten saved me as an adult
Use salicylic acid plus benzoyl peroxide
could be dietary. for many it's dairy
Diet for sure. No dr. will ever talk about that . why not?
I’ve been vegan 3 years to combat acne unfortunately I still get it :/
Yes, it can be this. The skin is what can be termed "psychosomatic." It's connected to the mind-body - especially the gut. Gut and psychological issues often show on the skin. The best approach is a holistic one, in my opinion.
@@zak_taylor1233 It isn't always just dairy. It can be gluten and other inflammatory foods, too. You may want to look into taking digestive enzymes - and see if this makes any difference?
@@zak_taylor1233 Sometimes going vegan does the opposite.
Well they didn't really give much advice and detail there
Shirlest's Hidden Acne Healing Secrets are the real deal. I’ve seen such a transformation in my skin, and I no longer worry about breakouts. I encourage everyone to try it!
Please do hormonal blood tests and investigate gynaecological causes if you are a woman who suddenly develops acne in your twenties. There is a cause, the medical profession doesn’t bother to investigate. Easier to slap on creams and stick someone on drugs.
What eventually helped you?
To have a nice skin; No sugar intake, eat clean, exercise and get good sleep
I had horrible severe cyctic acne abd folliculitis my entire teenage years and into my late 30s.
I was terrified of using isotretinoin (roaccutane) so avoided it.
As a male, hormones were not an option, doctors prescribed me every topical under the sun along with antibiotics which really damaged my gut microbiome.
In the end the only thing that resolved it was roaccutane, i did a 12 month course, 20mg daily. I had my last pill in June and havent had a pimple or cyst since. Unfortunately my folliculitis has returned, ill have to go back to the dermatologist but im thankful my face is clear!
Have you tried Nizoral for the folliculitis?
This is acne. It's so insulting when people with spots and the odd bolder say they have acne. Poor girl. So unfair
