    This is a great boat for taking back and forth to my home towns of Duxbury and Sarasota. This boat is perfect for it's shallow waters and makes a great gunk hole micro cruiser. I like it.

    Would it be possible to live on one of these and sail around the world as one person. Just wanting to know if it can handle strong wind and big swell.

      The issue you’d have with such a small multihull would be overloading. You could do it *very carefully* if you went backpack style.

      Realistically the design brief was never to either design the required strength nor materials into this boat (hull and rig) to enable such a voyage. This is a lightweight flier for inshore waters.

      @@RHP-pw8xt Seems to me that if you can drag race that on SF Bay and outside the Golden Gate Bridge (like many do with F boats) then you could cross oceans IF you sailed with caution and reserve (go backpack style and reef often and reef at night). But again, the real danger would be overloading it to the point of where it couldn't yield to the seas like a good light multi should. I would be totally wrong though if this design was built more fragile than the older F boats. Is it?

      I have a 37ft corsair and my thoughts are you could but you would have to pick your passages and do it in 3 to 4 day stints if possible As said already 2nd every night all night no matter what

      @@chrisocallaghan9193 Your 37 was designed to cross oceans, right?

    Gorgeous! I WANT ONE! Serious question for a moment: where do you put the anchor? And by "anchor" I mean Excel or Spade, since those obsoleted everything else. Thank you!

    Can you one man sail it around the world?

    • @angela1984a
      @angela1984a 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would depend on what kind of ocean grading it has. I just spent a couple of minutes to try and find out but unfortunately I couldn't find it. But Corsair would know, so why not just ask them...

    I have heard these 880s have a tendency to want to heel.

    • @claytonjohnson3828

      If you look closely, you will notice that the amas are raised higher than other models. That will mean that it can heel to that point easily. With the amas closer to the waterline, the boat would heel less and probably give slightly lower performance.

    These are coastal cruisers, one person could live on one but it’d be very cramped, as for blue water... not recommended but island hopping the top of Australia is fine but you need to watch the weather: Australia to Fiji would be chancing it though Bass Strait would be ok? they won’t carry enough weight in provisions even for one person to circumnavigate anything but an island, maybe a big island like Australia but you’d be stocking up at every stop... they’re weekenders: you need to go to 32’ or larger and even then they just don’t like carrying weight and the earlier 36’ Corsair, had too many issues full stop. People go around the world in bathtubs but?

    • @joeblow1942
      @joeblow1942 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. It’s a small multi so payload is crucial. What were the issues with the 36’er?
