    I like how you cut the wall studs down 1 1/2" inches below the drywall for your top plate, without disturbing the rock. Great job.

    Really appreciate your careful & thoughtful work. We need the exact cutting down of our split level kitchen countertop, after watching this, makes my mind feel more at ease that it can be done! Just a matter of finding someone to trust to do it well

    You are the best I've seen. I was a Teamster truck driver for 36 years and after retiring early I got bored and started my own handyman business. I just wish I had seen you work during that time. I am now fully retired but love fiddling around the house. Your videos still come in very handy for me to refer to. Thank you:

    Thank you so much. I have a similar "counter" that I want to cut down but although I have significant rough carpentry experience (framing 7 houses) was a little nervous about this job in my own home but after watching you I feel that I can tackle it. Thank you.

    Looked good when you got it finished. The texture matched exact looked like to me. I used that Homack spray texture when I renovated my family room (late 60's paneling had to go). Mine was just sprayed on, no knock down and it came out pretty good.

      Do it legally. Licensed and insured you will get more work then the guy in a van. Watch your pricing. Not too high. And never to low. Good luck. It’s hard at first. Just start making contact with landlord associates.

    Good work! Must be odd being the side worker on such projects especially when you are used to being the leader? Renos done by homeowner can be daunting and hard to follow at times. Good work on the plumbing and counter top. The knock down is where I expected to be the problem but it turned out perfect, no transitions!

    Great video, I am doing the same thing to a home we have in Arizona... A questions for you, what tool are you using to cut the dry wall away from the studs and also what tool/saw did you use to cut the studs 1 1/2' down within the drywall to put the 2" x 4" cap on top of existing wall studs? Would appreciate a timely response, I am traveling to our AZ home in a few weeks to prep the kitchen for the new countertop.
    Thanks in advance and keep up the great work and video's...

      Not including the counter top. I would charge $750 to cut the wall down, relocate the outlet and do all the drywall repairs. Not all are as easy as this one. It is a easy diy project you can do it if you have the tools.

    How can you fix a concrete countertop? Do to a wrong height?

  • @earlybro19
    @earlybro19 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here’s a question. What do you do about pricing when you quote a job for X$. Then you get in there such as the sink drain. And realize you have to move the dishwasher and make a new hole and add 1-3 hours extra of work for unexpected problems. Not necessarily in this situation because you make it seem “easy and painless” but in any project where you gave them a quote then you run into bigger problems. What do you do, just eat the loss or go back to the costumer. Or have something built in to the quote? Would love to hear how you handle it. You’re awesome!!!
