Oh my God, I just can't stop watching him. He was a genius. He has a great fantasy, a great ability and a wonderful energy. What about his inteligence? a clever beautiful mind. Thank you for sharing, Clondyke!
Jednostavno fenomenalno! Inspirativno!
Min.19. Great . Fascinating. Min.27 ...You walk toward a heavenly paradise. How superb tempo! Celi loved rehearsals. I can understand why now. Rehearsals with him could be amazing.
Dumnezeu sa-l ierte!
It is almost like a rithm conceved as the variant for the time of peace, of the military march. It is a parade of the humanity, in time of peace and total understanding of the each and every single member of it with each other, in a supranatural harmony.
@Bautisnemo - answer: Yes, they did so at that time, 90% learnt it at school then. It wouldn't work as easy today because too few people learn german nowadays.
This is a true rehearsal, not staged. Somewhere further along in the full process, I would think, still adjusting several bowings and adding nuances to the parts. Celi never seems to get frustrated, he just keeps working away toward what he wants. In the final moments the trombones fully apply his direction to sustain their slurs. It's interesting to see so many relatively young players and several women. That was certainly not the case with the big American orchestras in 1965.
Damn difficult to get the right dynamics out of the orchestra. What sounds simple and natural to the listener is the result of the highest precision and concentration. Wishy-washy and dramatic are closely related here.
That's a pity nowadays kids learn mostly English as a foreign language in school. In the good old days you learned Latin, Greek, French, English and sometimes German (particularly in Northern and Central Europe countries).
Sergiu Celibidache, one of the greatest romanian conductors in the world!!!
Of course!
No, the greatest in the 20 th century amongst all nations !

Magnificent. The genius of Celi!

tequiness061 you can’t compare Dudamel to Celidibache who was a genius

real great pleasure to watch - thank you for posting :thumbs-up:
The concertmaster at that time was Jelinek, he was from the Czech.

Concertmaster is the American equivalent to, in Britain, the leader of the orchestra - front row first chair left.
Man blir lycklig!

Also the best at conducting with his hair

It so god-Best inclas.
@thompsondean; "Spara" = save (ex. do not go too quickly into the "forte")
Tako je!

Pure genius. Lots of patience. Not like the lunatic Toscanini who had big meltdowns

Of course they understood German, and English and Italian and French. They did.
Oh dear, so not: very good, then, or superb, or fantastic, but Holy Fuck, now that's some accolade.
does anyone know what Spara means in engilsh thanks
Spara=to save, to economise, to economize, to keep, to lay aside, to nurse, to reserve, to salt away, to scrape,
Wrong. He says in German: "sparen" no "spara"! It's mean "not too much and no immediately", "save", "think the long phrase".
20:43
We can see his secrets here, it's the work behind the wonder, what about English, I can't catch a thing... :(
Sau română.😊
M
a scos unt din ei :)))
Debussy.jeux
I love all classical music except Ravels Bolero can´t stand it.
OckenHåle one of my favorites. To each his own
Nobody feels that's absolutely ridiculous?
A lot of thanks !
