    A colour analysis session is a once-off experience to discover your colours for life.
    A palette is a collection of colours that emphasise your natural chromatic characteristics, making you look radiant and healthy. Colour analysis identifies your personal palette by examining your natural characteristics (undertone, intensity and value).
    A colour analysis session will make you discover something new about yourself and give you the knowledge to shop less and better and to improve your wardrobe and style.

    These ladies are amazing! I loved my virtual color analysis session so much. I had the pleasure of working with Alessandra and she is so knowledgeable and warm. I was able to fully see and understand why I fit into the palette she assigned me. I was absolutely shocked to learn I have a cool undertone but once you see it you cannot under it! 😂 I am loving diving into my winter deep palette. It has been especially helpful in choosing makeup that flatters my natural coloring. Thank you again! I wish you much success in your business.

    It’s always so nice when someone’s partner is supportive like this 😊 I can see why people were confused because some people are used to determining someone’s colour season by the colour of their features, but the spring colours really suit him! It was helpful to see how to incorporate your colour season into your wardrobe more realistically

      I agree! He looks amazing in his Spring colors. He is too bright/clear to be Soft Summer. His skin reacts to grays like mine does and I am a Spring. It either looks red, yellow or just dull. The brighter Spring colors bring out his intense, clear eyes and makes his skin look healthy. They match his intensity. I love him in the brown that was described as his best neutral! It’s one of my favorites, too, but I only have t-shirts in that brown. It’s harder to find brown dresses and blouses, for a woman. I have many in the yellow-gold he looked good in, the orange and the light sky blue, though! 🤎

    As a recently confirmed soft summer, it’s so enlightening to see someone else visibly dulled by the same colors that make me sparkle. Meanwhile, those bright colors would make me look pale and tired. It really is that simple-your best colors make you look more like YOU, and you can’t argue with what’s in the mirror. Errol looks so bright and alive in that yellow shirt! A summer could NEVER.

      Yes! It is very interesting. People have given me unsolicited advice that my clothes are “too bright.” It was validating, when I was determined a Light Spring, with Light, Bright and Warm being my characteristics (in that order). On the other hand, some people say certain colors are “too dull/too muted).” There is no such thing as colors that are objectively too bright or too “dull,” for everyone. A lot of people stick with a medium intensity or muted tones…whatever is socially preferred in their group or profession. However, in terms of color analysis, muted colors make some people look lively and bright colors make them look ill. The exact opposite is true for some and still others can wear some clear and some muted colors, as long as they are all the same temperature. I love that color analysis shows the beauty of diversity. It has been very affirming to me, as a person of mixed ancestry!

    It's crazy how his face instantly lit up when the spring drapes were placed on him! And Alessandra was right, the rosyness on his cheeks popped straight away!

    • @caroline__0148
      @caroline__0148 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i see what ypu mean but having more rosiness from a color is actually a sign that it doesn't work because redness, even if we don't view it as an imperfection like acne, shows up even more in our less flattering colors. if his rosiness was rosacea for example, we wouldn't see it as a good thing.

    • @prostheticballerina
      @prostheticballerina ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@caroline__0148 you’ve misunderstood. He has pink cheeks, regardless of what he wears. With cool tones, his skin was pallid. In spring colours, his skin was warm and glowing, and the pink cheeks added to the golden appearance. The issue is not whether the pink is visible but rather how the many colours of the face interact harmoniously.

    • @caroline__0148
      @caroline__0148 ปีที่แล้ว

      i actually dont think he's a true or soft summer so i think thats probably why his skin looked duller in those cool colors. he may have pink cheeks regardless of what he wears, but when the rosiness is more visible, it means the color isn't connecting with his undertone (and btw pink is an overtone, not an undertone). it's hard to explain why but it's for the same reasons that acne is more visible in your worst colors. i think what makes this tricky is that bright colors are better on him, which gives spring an advantage. but i just see redness and a more muddy complexion when he wears fully warm colors. when they compared the bright warm vs bright cool colors, the only difference is that the rosiness disappeared. his skin still looked just as bright. i think the brightness is why people think he's a spring.@@prostheticballerina

    • @SueRosalie
      @SueRosalie 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@caroline__0148 no, we are talking about the rosiness that is a sign of good health, not a rash or medical condition like rosacea.

    • @caroline__0148
      @caroline__0148 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SueRosalie I see what you’re saying, but redness is still redness whether or not it’s a sign of good health. The only difference is that the color is less visible when it’s healthy. But if something brings out redness in acne, that same color will also bring out rosy cheeks. Rosy cheeks and acne both have the same red undertones, therefore if something brings out one, it will also bring out the other.
      If redness is more visible, it means the color isn’t connecting with your undertone. So if you have cool undertones, redness will be more visible in warm tones, regardless of whether or not that redness is healthy. This is because that warm color is conflicting with your undertone, making it less visible, therefore, drawing attention to things that aren’t connected to your undertone like acne or rosy cheeks.
      I’m not saying his rosy cheeks look bad at all, he looks great regardless! But the goal of color analysis is harmony and to do that, you need colors that flow with your coloring and perhaps bring out the subtleties of it. Colors that bring out redness will make the rest of your coloring less visible, and therefore, it won’t harmonize.

    I love that you revisited this and tackled a lot of the misconceptions people have about color analysis. The mistaken focus on eye color from those comments is connected to an even bigger issue that has led to many POC being mistyped; this is why in-person draping (or virtual with a skilled analyst), color by color, to see how the SKIN reacts is the way to go. I know it’s difficult for people trying to type through a screen, but hyper focus on individual features isn’t the answer either. Otherwise people are too quick to categorize light-eyed people as Summers or dark-featured people as Deep Winters without nuance.

      Yes! Wouldn’t it be great if every city had an exchange, where people who had just received a color analysis could swap clothes? Or a seasonal color consignment store? Hey, a person can dream! I am happily gifting and donating many clothes I rarely wore…and now I know why. They are beautiful colors, but they are not my best colors. A few still had tags on! Color analysis pays for itself, before long. Now, I virtually drape myself in anything I’m thinking about purchasing online, if I’m not sure. I’m getting better at predicting what will look good, but have had a few “What was I thinking?” moments! Thankfully, BEFORE the money is spent. Now, if we could just get advertisers to post garment photos that are true to color! I look for reviews with photos or descriptions of the color of the item received and stick with brands or companies that post accurate photos, whenever possible! Thankfully, my mother is Soft and Cool, whereas I am Bright and Neutral. Between us, we can wear anything light.

      So true! It’s definitely the overall picture that needs to be taken in consideration, not just the parts of the whole. My skin is so neutral it’s difficult to tell my season, based on that. However, my strawberry hair, green eyes and freckles add a lot of warmth, so I look better in Spring than Summer colors. In most cases, the skin would be considered before the hair and eyes. With very neutral skin, the hair, eyes and how colors affect the skin’s appearance are important pieces of the puzzle. Hair and eyes give important clues, even when the skin “decides.”

    I think people are confused by it because of his eyes - blue eyes and people immediately think of summer. Secondly, I think it's the camera lighting and set-up, and the different calibration of color on screens that confuses us - I just viewed this video on my laptop, my TV screen, and my iPhone, and it seemed slightly different. It especially appeared cooled off on my TV screen, while on my iPhone I could see the warmth in his face more.

      @@to_ru_kw Excellent points from both of you. When we look at things, our mind is doing SO MUCH that we are thinking necessarily conscious of, if we even knew anything in the first place about the complexity of vision. There’s nothing like trying to make something - by photographing, filming, drawing, or painting, &c - to discover the limitations in representing the richness of what we perceive. Interesting that those moments when a particular colour _vibes_ with someone can be almost shocking in how clearly they register, even through the - not necessarily calibrated - screen.

Also like that they brought out the blues in the spring palette. I’ve learned from them that every palette has ALL of the colors in them (with the exception of black and orange) just different types of the colors.

    It's so nice to have him back with his colors! For me, the yellow shirt was proof enough that he is a Spring guy, but the explanation was awesome for anyone who wants to learn more about the subject! Also, it was so cute to see how supportive he is because we can clearly see how much he embraced his palette and Giulia's work.

Like Julia's partner you can see some yellow in his skin surface , brown hair plus the blue in his eyes is very light and poping ! Has a lot of brightness and contrasting colours ! I can clearly see he is a Spring !

    Also I feel like amature colour analysis comments over type people as softer than they really are it's something I've noticed in a lot of comment sections or some people get too focused on the eyes and haircolour.

      I've found the past couple of years, the winter offerings were full of muddy browns; beiges; mustards and khaki, but in summer it got no better, with just more warm beiges and even orange and it's been almost impossible to find cool colours in basic items. The cool blues and greens and pinks were mostly in swimsuits and novelty handbags but not clothes! Just the same shades of light blue, which most people already have plenty of.

    11:19 Another thing that I am learning as I watch your analysis’ is how the colors react next to the skin is important as well. I’ll use the word “pop” for lack of a better word. If the colors pop next to the skin then that shows harmony. Colors that don’t pop themselves next to the skin are not your season. So pretty much what I’m saying is the colors themselves are dulled by your skin if they are not your season. You see it a lot in this video.

    You are a very cute couple. I think his characteristics kind of reminded me of your friend Jess where she had those stunning blue eyes, but was a warm undertone. I think if he wore the Spring light palette for dress shirts with the camel pants it would look very nice on him. The light periwinkle shirt from the Spring light would look stunning with his beautiful eyes. The suit with the orange/ coral tie looked really nice on him. I think for men it is hard to find colored suits, but maybe an olive suit would look even better, but suits are expensive so switching ties is probably more budget friendly. I enjoy your process so much and I have learned a lot about what you are looking for. He really needs to wear more purple IMO.

  • @franziskani
    @franziskani ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Handsome people can get away with wearing the wrong colours (only the black fabric next to his face washed him out, but a black suit with a light coloured shirt might be O.K. already). And it is all about how the face looks (the skin being the largest factor). He has a larger face = surface (compared to a woman). Naturally good contrasts - a tan, a bit of a blush on the cheeks, and fairly pink lips, good skin, the beard gives some more contrast, the very bright eyes, and brown brows - so the wrong colours will not wash him out like they would with a more dull face, and a less nice complexion.
    And while the blues and greens of the summer palette might not be ideal to show off his skin (but his complexion is so good, it is hard to ruin that impression) these summer colours compliment his eyes so well that this effect compensate for what he misses on skin effect.
    I too liked some of the typical summer colours (the blues, the bluish green, even the dusty pink - she tried that at the beginning of the first session). However the yellow, the warm brown, especially the burnt orange are the giveaway: He must be in the warm family these colours would not look good on a summer type.
    I wonder what colour would be good for a suit. A rather dark brown, or a blue or green that has a yellowish hue in it. Or maybe taupe could look good. I wonder what tweed would look like on him (that is of course country chic and not formal office wear). Maybe there are some grays (leaning into brown) that would be O.K. for him. As long as he wears them with the right shirt - a creme shirt maybe ? or a periwinkle tone ?
    Regarding leasure, sports and streetwear he is fine. Brown leather. Bright sports jackets. The mustard and brown would be nice for knitted sweaters.

    He has such a cool style! You two are adoooorable together and this video was so fun. I was convinced he was Spring by the end of the first video and it actually helped me see that I wasn't warm-toned because I got that sickly sallow yellow in my face, instead of looking healthy like he did. I get total Spring envy! Even though I'm DIY-ed Winter. I would wear Spring colours every day if CA wasn't a thing, haha.
    But I can see why people think he's Summer. Video and photography don't fully capture what we see in person, so I trust your own words in the video rather than my eyes. He's also TOO BRIGHT to be a Summer -- and a Soft Summer? Good grief.

  • @schatzip
    @schatzip ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really love your demo's on how you do analysis. Especially the striped drapes which confirm strongly the final result. I was analyzed as a Clear Spring and honestly was in denial for a year. I had to do so many at home confirmation tests! :). But if someone did the striped drape comparison it would have really helped me to embrace it from the start. As a bright spring who is also an hourglass (Soft Dramatic) and who has a personality which is quite reserved, imagine the style journey of making all those three qualities harmonize. My advice: If you can afford it, get your style done too!

    I found it a bit hard to see, but I am a summer myself and I realised when I try to wear those spring colours I look yellow and sickly, not radiant. He doesn’t look awful in the summer colours, but I know he’d look awful in the spring colours if he had been a summer. So I agree with your analysis. • @blueice011
    @blueice011 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think I figured out why it's so difficult for many of us with untrained eye to see why warm is the way to go for Errol and not cool. His undertone is very warm and his complexion reacts beautifully to warm colors. At the same time he has cool and very bright eyes and cool hair color - which make many cool colors work well for him as well. It's not just the fact that it's hard to see how his complexion changes depending on temperature of the colors if you don't have something to compare to instantly, like it's done here, during analysis (switching between cool and warm drapes), although that moment, inability to make comparison in real life contact, has a lot to do with people thinking he's Summer. It's also the fact that his eyes, which are not just cool, but very bright and prominent on his face, draw attention and everything in cool range that goes well with his eyes is perceived as good choice for him. His cool hair helps that impression as well. People are rarely focused on skin, if they are not professionals and with such cool and bright eyes and cool dark hair, he truly looks like he leans towards cool palettes. I dare claim that he doesn't look overall bad in cool colors - precisely because they match his eyes and hair, and his complexion is not on a bluish, olive or grayish side, so he never looks truly bad in 'male', cool colors (blues and grays mostly). Only when your eye is trained and you do quick switch between cool and warm grape - his skin reveals the truth. If his hair was on warmer side, maroon brown, or with ginger cast to it, it might be more obvious. But only his skin being warm and his eyes and hair being cool and bright - no wonder his coloring can be deceptive. And, IMHO, he can safely wear many colors from Summer, even Winter palette. They'll look good on him - as long as the eye is not trained and there aren't his right colors next to him for comparison value. Great job, guys! Love your videos! XO

    I am a warm spring and it was a real challenge to find neutrals that felt at home and didn’t wash me out but I have found that golden tan is my absolute best neutral and sometimes a light olive green has been nice to replace darker neutrals. I do think golden tan is in men’s shops fairly often and also warm olive greens but yes just my experience, it’s about striking that balance between very warm but also not too deep/rich/spicy it’s got to still have that luminous springy note. At least that’s what I kept finding with me. Well done you guys so nice to watch you 🎉
