    Pretty sure I'm a soft summer but I'll wear black forever. I know it's not my best colour but there's something magic in black, it gives me confidence. I often do a last minute change before I walk out the door from a colour into black.

    Loved this video! Always thought you were a winter, but true autumn actually makes a lot of sense. Let's go full 80s: give us a kibbe body type analysis next! I have a feeling you might be a natural, given you look incredible in texture.

    Somebody has probably already commented this but my first thought was this also could be super helpful when looking at makeup palettes! Like what blush suits you and what eyeshadow palette actually does something for your overall hue. I want to book an appointment right now!

    I am the same season, I find that there are so many shades of black you can find one that works for you. A faded black with a warm undertone suits me much better than a harsh/cool black. Also love to pair it with coffee browns or other neutrals that really agree with me to warm it up.

      Black drains me - I'm soft Autumn - but charcoal. Wow! I love it and painted 3 walls of my living room that colour too. It's gives a warm vibe, not the harsh coldness of black.

    Great vid Anna... and you look gorgeous in that brown top. Clearly an 'Autumn'. I first went to a CMB (Colour Me Beautiful) consultant some 35yrs ago.... when all they had were the 4 seasons. I remember ditching my jacket & buying one in (the right) green & the Mums at school were like "You look SO well". I was no more 'well' than the previous week; all I'd done was changed the colour of my jacket! I recently had an update, as my skin tone has changed & I now dye my hair. I'm still the same season - Autumn - but can no longer wear those bright shades. Now it's 'soft & muted' versions of the same. Funny but the "You look so well" thing came up again after I bought a puffa winter jacket in olive green. This stuff works & you feel so good in yourself wearing the right colours. Your 'black thing' is like my 'burnt orange thing'. I adore this colour but can no longer wear it; well I could, but then it'd be a question of the outfit making an entrance, not me! I liked how Jo went through the colours of the rainbow first & the pre-consultation questionnaire sounded good too, not that I'm faulting the sesh I had. ♥

    So interesting! I am a soft autumn so black is my worst color. However, I have a lot of black in my wardrobe. I didn’t go crazy and declutter all my black stuff, but since getting my color analysis, I have done the following: 1) move black further away from my face (I have loads of black pants/ jeans and accessories like bags/ shoes), 2) I have stopped buying black clothes that sit close to the face, and 3) when I do wear a black jacket I wear a scarf in a color that suits me and when I wear a black top I wear a gold necklace. Also, in summer I find that black looks less harsh on me when Im slightly tanned

    Love that you had this done!! I had mine done over a year ago and have really noticed the benefits when shopping for new things. I also feel like I can’t stop guessing people’s colours! I know I miss the mark sometimes but it’s a fun people watching habit. I’m so glad you ended up with a warm palette since it has seemed like you gravitate that way generally. My theory (before this vid) is that you would’ve been a deep autumn and deep winter would be a sister season for you meaning you could also suit black because I’ve always thought you looked great in it in photos. I love the take away and really interested to hear about your experience. Thanks for sharing ❤

    Thank you for this! I'm also a true autumn and chocolate brown, terracotta, warm purple, deep salmon, prussian blue, hunter green, forest green, grey-olive green, and caramel are my best colors for sure. My eyes are olive green, hair is auburn and I've got lots of freckles. Muted gold is best for jewelry.
    I wear black, navy, denim on my lower half only and it looks great.
    Loving that chocolate brown on you!

Now what would be interesting is to gift Mark with a color analysis and see if he suits the same warmer tones as you. 😉😃🤔

    That’s great that you had your colors done. Even though you have green-ish veins you can be neutral leaning cool. You look high contrast and cool (Winter) to me. No red in your hair either. I’m neutral cool (Winter) and can still wear some warm colors.I actually have about the same eye color as you have (a mix of warm and cool). Of course, since I’ve never seen you in person I’m looking at what I see on my screen. I hope you don’t give up wearing black because you look so chic and AMAZING!

      I think Anna looks great in a lot of things, simply because here style and clothes work well together. But I totally agree. You can have a mix of skin tones on your body! Most people have some variations. I’m convinced she’s actually a bright winter. Because I immediately notice her brightness of her skin in contrast to the dark hair. And when I saw the warm green swatch I immediately thought it wasn’t great. And that the bright colors looked surprisingly lovely (because most people can’t pull them off)
      I feel like Carol Brailey should do a follow up consult because she always knocks it out of the park, even over virtuals. I’m probably gonna get mine done with her for my birthday 🤞🏼

    So funny, I just got my colours done this week. The colour consultant I went to uses the tonal system (which is slightly different from the seasonal system). I am soft-warm-deep, which resulted in my best colours being very similar to yours. I found this incredibly useful, it’s very freeing actually, I feel I can now focus on the colours that really fit me and ignore all the trends and what other people wear.

    • @joboydstyling
      @joboydstyling 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment, yes, many colour consultants use the tonal system, it's similar to the seasonal system, but the descriptive words used are slightly different. As a soft, warm, deep you would fall into the deep autumn category in seasonal. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience!

    I am a deep autumn with a sister in dark winter. I have warm olive undertones, green veins, deep brown hair and eyes that get cognac red in the sunlight. I can borrow some tones from dark winter like for ex. deep fuchsia (I rarely do) but I look like a 🤡 in neons, pastels, I'm instantly sick-looking when wearing cold tones and pretty much all peach and pink shades xD It is VERY useful to know what colours look best on you but I always say that colour theory is just a guideline and you should always just wear what you truly like! ❤️

    I’ve been thinking for a while that you’d really enjoy having your colours done and that colour analysis would be your thing and I was really excited to see that you’ve gone for it 😀
    I had my colours done for the first time (!) a few years ago, but the practitioner in question didn’t use the seasonal system, so I had them done again, recently, online. It was a very confusing and frustrating experience. I thought my original “result” (warm undertone) would simply be confirmed and clarified further, but instead, I received the opposite result: according to them, I was cool toned! I was so shocked by this result that I booked another 2 online appointments with different practitioners (using the same photos), and again, I got different results, one leaning warm and one, cool.
    Now, I’m trying to make sense of these different results and understand what suits me by draping myself in clothes I already own, taking selfies and training my eyes to see the impact of different colours on my ‘naked’ skin, but it’s really hard….
    I’d be really curious to see whether you’d get different results if you went for one or more online consultations: it’d be so fascinating to have a comparison of in-person and online results! xxx

    • @wakingtheworld
      @wakingtheworld 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd say you need to have an in-person consult where you're sat in front of a mirror opposite a window. Your reaction will usually tell you whether you have cool or warm undertones. I went for a CMB (Colour Me Beautiful) sesh - UK based - and like the one Anna had with Jo, she used scarves. It's not cheap but so worth it. Get your family to club together & gift one to you.

    I love color theory stuff but my unpopular opinion is that there is too much emphasis on warm vs cool. I see both cool and warm tones in your coloring. I think black is beautiful on you. Everything about your hair color screams that black would suit you. The darkness of your hair has a high contrast against your lighter skin which makes black really work on you. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

    • @joboydstyling
      @joboydstyling 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there, thanks for your comment. If a person has very dark brown or black hair or features, they can be classified in tonal analysis as deep which means they can wear both the deeper shades from the autumn and winter palettes, this would include black. It all depends on your dominant feature, if that's warmth then warm colours will suit you best and you should go the dark colours from the warm palette such as dark olive, navy, chocolate brown etc. as black can be a little harsh right next to the face

    I think there are many exceptions to the “you either suit gold or black theory”… most people of colour with dark dark brown/basically black hair will suit black naturally and can also pull off gold jewelry. Skin tone (as well as undertone) definitely plays a large factor.

    Yes, I would have said you were some sort of autumn, you look pretty warm and muted to me. However, I have to say from personal experience that draping IS the only true way to find out for sure. Surface skin colour is also no real indication of whether someone is warm or cool toned. The draping tells again!

      @@pollystye3270 yes, this is right, thank you. Deep autumn is a darker palette and has similarities to deep winter but the undertone is warm rather than cool

    I’d like makeup and hair colour suggestions with the clothing colour suggestions - is there anyone in the uk who does it all and does it well?

    I agree with the color analyst. You are more yellow toned, but prone to redness.

    I had my colors done yesrs ago. It made shopping so much easier. I wonder if you have tried turquoise jewelry set in gold? It would be beautiful with the yellow dress. And, it pops against black! Just a thought. Kendra Scott is a well known American jewelry designer. She is young and works in 24k as well as costume jewelry with her own gorgeous stores. She is currently partenering with Target in store and online sales. Good opportunity to take a peek.

    I think the word you may have been searching for at 11.00 is saturated. I'm the same as you-I look terrible in washed out or pastel colours!

    I love your videos but your mic is super distracting to someone with audio sensitivity. Needs to be held further away or with a fluffy cover to help

    I found color analyse such bs
    Everyone can wear any color it's about the tones mostly
    Like I love a red tee but if I would go for the color theory ? I should stay away from it, but on a bad day (confidence wise) but still wanna wear my red? I wear it underneath a crewneck sweater so it peeks out a bit but then on the worst days? I go for a red bag, a red sock
    Etc...
    Just 💁🏻‍♀️

      Hi there, yes, you're right everyone can wear any colour it all depends on three elements, the tone, depth and clarity of a colour, so with red there will be a shade of red to suit everyone, it's just about finding the right one for you

    In nature there is no black color, shadow also isn't black, cause black is artificial color and has no life. So I think black can suits when we were makeup with even base and blush/bronzer. On me black suits when I wear makeup even minimal, but if I wear black without makeup, it pulls dark and dull parts of my face forward. And I look ill
