The hate for City's success is so biased and the hate for Arabs is even worse. Nobody cared that Redbull did this years before city. Do your research on Uefa and their obligation to protect the traditional big teams: Barcelona, Madrid, Manchester Utd, Liverpool ect.

Red Bull does the same thing and no one blinks an eye. There's nothing wrong with good management.

Weell, the issue is actually the lack of regulation and existing rules enforcement to stop these groups from exploiting the system in the way they've been doing it. Federations should immediately react to these types of situations 'oh you're loaning from a partner club to dodge FPP, yeah you can't do that give him back or you get points deduction' (or some other penalty that doesn't involve only a fine as i imagine they don't really care about those). Otherwise i guess its also the 'your club is funded by a country you don't really agree with on certain fundamental aspects like human/women/gay rights' issue. Can you forget about that and just enjoy your team doing well, which i guess many can, and probably if my team that's now almost relegated for the second time in its history would suddenly start doing well in the league and on european competitions, i'd say oh well go team after a while. We will have to see the outcome of city and those over 100 counts of accusation the EPL has against them to know for sure.

So basically, it's a minor league system, similar to what sports leagues in the US have. Don't try to deny it.

I don't have any problem with this business model. It's just an example of a good management. Your hypothesis seems correct for short term. See the long term posossibility. ManCity has limited amount of players to register. But, there are a lot of talents out there to develop. They even have club at small countries in football. The most important thing is having a lot of good talents doesn't necessarily make you a champion. It helps you to be a champion though and it's part of outstanding management. Looking forward to City Football Group to purchase or build a club in my country. FFP never has a clear purpose. What's truely important is sportsmanship.

the fear is that a monopoly would be created, taking away the competition

@@Ballers.Finesse I don't think so. I like their idea to develop players at smaller countries in footballing world. Besides, this business model also gives clearer career path to the young players. Imagine La Fabrica and La Masia have branches in a lot of countries. Let's take Odegaard as an example. He was recruited by Real Madrid at very young age and played few years at junior team and was on loan few times before joining Real Madrid senior team then Arsenal. Long story short, his peak is not at Real Madrid. Human being is not as simple as your explanation. In this case, I'm on potential young player's side. And I always put sportsmanship above FFP. I never trust money can buy trophy, but money can provide better life for the players. I'm never against proper wages for the players. What I'm against is crazy transfer fee only.
