It’s bad coaching from grassroots up. They absolutely hate flair. Too flashy. Its the English working class mentality. If you can do things with the ball others can’t your flashy and the amateur coaches hate it. It’s also a purely working class game in England. A lot of foreign players have a higher IQ and degree level education. They train smart and play smart. England is all about heart but no brains

As an american who plays soccer I think their is 3 reasons 1. It really depends where you are because there is a big difference between different states because i live in Oregon where soccer is the most played sport by a decently large margin but in other places they are big football players 2. It is considered a p**sy sport here because alot of people dont think that you cant make contact with your body 3. American like strong people not agile and fast people like soccer players 4. Alot of americans still dislike it because it was made in Britain

Getting to back to back Euro finals is hardly a bad thing, it's much better than what Roy Hodgson's England (and Fabio Capello) ever did. I'm not a huge fan of the England team compared to other teams, but for many countries getting to a final would be seen as a good thing, even if you did not win that final. That makes me wonder if this argument is in good faith. People conveniently forget how bad England were as a team in the 12-15 years before Gareth Southgate took over. In truth England had not played well at a tournament since 2004, and they had not won a knockout match since 2006.

Now post Euro24, I don't think England will ever win against Spain. It's almost impossible. The English players simply don't have enough talent or the technical ability of the Spanish players like Pedri, Yamal and Barca's La Masia. English academies do not prioritie technique and ball handling. Gonna need a really good coach like Klopp to win because teams like France, Spain, Argentina, Portugal, Germany or even Italy have them beat. Man-for-Man, they are just NOT upto elite standards in technical ability.

The players are talented but mentality and constant media saturation has skewed our evolution terribly, factor in the huge contribution of foreign talent in the form of Managers & players at club level, and you have a football nation that has not yet fully developed it's own identity and elite level brand of football internationally (it has not evolved as quickly as we have wanted it to since the days of kick and rush, long ball) I do believe we have improved greatly but the other nations have also continued doing so, particularly the big guns, who have continued developing from a starting point that was already ahead of us. Realistically we are still playing catch up when it comes to intelligence and tactical nous, I personally feel that's what has cost us in the last two finals, but it shouldn't be discredited because the evidence is there for all to see in the results of the recent previous tournaments. Our grit and determination have got us to finals which is easier said than done, (greater teams than us have choked in finals against lesser opponents) I believe that with the younger generation of players (and managers) brought up on a more modern style of play, with time can come good and win something..it will just take longer than we all want it to, people easily forget that for decades teams like France, Spain and Netherlands fell short, and trophies were dominated by the Germans, and South Americans .. I bet nobody in the comments ever expected in this day and age that Brazil would be in the current situation they are? but times change and in reality it can only be for better or worse..as long as we keep working on our weak points, we will get there eventually.

England dont care about titles enough. If you think i'm crazy, look at their performance at the euros, how they played despite getting easiest route to the final amongst all the favorites. They lack that motive(at this point i truly believe in that) hence this poor result. Also, not to mention the arrogance that must come with the players constantly being called the best and so forth. They must truly put themselves above the nation. Given how beautifully they played at the euros, no matter how good their team gets on paper, i'd never count them as favorites going into any tournament. If they win anything, i'd consider it only as an upset(even greece had more passion to win than the English)

Here is the thing. Team spectator sports really got dug in and influential in the cultures of societies in the era of the radio. For the first time you could experience a sporting event without being their personally. The sports that took off at this time in societies around the world tended to be ones where they could be explained clearly over the radio. Baseball here in the states fit this need like a glove and exploded to unseen heights. After World War II with a supercharged economy the United States became the first country in the world to use newer technologies on a society wide scale. Sure, other countries might have had TV's, but America was the first to have TV's in nearly every home. This meant that, like baseball before it, there was a chance for a new sport to take advantage of the television and it was here that Soccer might have had a chance to really break out if it wasn't for one thing. Football (American Football, don't @ me). Much like the slower pace of Baseball worked great for radio broadcasts the more static starting formations and mostly predictable path of play of Football allowed larger and more cumbersome cameras at the time to capture the action more easily, while the bursts of activity that were then captured made for great television. This meant that if you were a young child in the 1970's there were two main sports you would likely be able to watch as the technology to watch (or listen) in many ways developed with and for the broadcasting of them. Football and Baseball. Now in any population there are only so many really stand out athletes and if, in their formative years, they watch and consume information on mainly Football and Baseball those athletes will be more likely to choose those sports when they are older to play professionally. Soccer at this point was basically crowded out and relegated to a "children's game", fun to be sure but not something you could base your life around. In the rest of the world advances in radio and television technology meant that when they were able to catch up and reach saturation points in society the limitations in them had been reduced. There was never a hand in glove relationship between the sports in these nations and the technology to broadcast them that existed with Baseball and Radio / Football and Television so they just broadcast the sports that people were playing at that time. And at that time in most of the world that sport was Soccer. After all you don't need much to play soccer: a ball, a few fence posts and two nets and you are good to go. So instead of creating a sport around broadcasting technology as the US did the rest of the world figured out ways to bend the technology that was perfected here to air Soccer (and did so quite well by the way). The end result of all of this was that in most of the world when broadcasting of sports was viable they saw soccer, and their star athletes chose to play soccer as a result while in the United States those athletes chose to play Baseball and Football. Basketball also played a role in the 90's of crowding out Soccer as the replacement for Baseball as Baseball's lack of action didn't play well on TV, but hopefully the point is getting across and this is already too long. PS: Also flopping is absolutely deplorable and it's abusers should be thrown into the center of the sun :P

I'm an american from Brazil, and you need to forget about football been the most dominant sport in just South America, it is the overall first in the America continent, to Patagonia to Alaska (or some glacier of Canada . . .). Take all Latin America, just Venezuela, Guyana, Nicaragua, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Bahamas football is not the main sport, apart from small islands ( West Indies). And even there, football is the second and growing. Soon will be the second in Canada and third in USA. The only continent where football is not the number 1 sport, is Oceania !

Do England team have at least 2 midfielders with dribbling abilities ?? What about skills ?? We need 2 to 3 midfielders with those qualities then we can talk about winning trophies. Any manager will still struggle to win us something until we get EDEN HASARD & ZIDANE types of players. Football is not only about power, shooting and tucking I’m sorry that’s a typical English gave and you expect us to beat FRANCE 🇫🇷, GERMANY 🇩🇪, PORTUGAL 🇵🇹 & SPAIN 🇪🇸 ?? That can never happen
