The braconid wasps have been wonderful for hornworm control this year! I set up a beneficial insect patch right in front of the hoop house to attract them in and provide habitat and they took great care of the tomatoes for me.
Heck yeah! I’ve planted sweet alyssum in the understory of my tomatoes before to try and attract them. I’ll hope to incorporate some more pollinators gardens soon.
Amazing and inspiring videos. I’m new at learning how to be while working with the soil, plants, rainwater, cold composting with worms and with minimal cultivation for getting admendents mixed into the sandy soil. Wonderful to see you doing this!
Hey nice Video... No BS just get-in right to the point. Very helpful and I got to figure out what's slamming my fruit trees here last 3 weeks ... just chewed leaves on bottom 1/3 of tree's some branches..just all green gone...Anyway, big thanks for sharing!
I was thrilled to see a wasp predating a spotted lantern fly that decimated the clematis. Lace Wings for the WIN! Lady Bugs have found my place and have set up house keeping! Yay! Good video. Informative. To the point. Keep Going.
Currently I use mushroom compost. Which is made from horse, and chicken manure with hay or straw as their carbon material. But I just bought a tractor recently, so I’m hoping to make my own compost moving forward.
This spring I had the worst infestation of aphids I have ever seen in my greenhouse. I purchased live ladybugs, but it didn't work well. I ended up pulling out all my plants. Do you think the green lacewings would have been a better choice? Thanks so much for the videos!!

Thanks for keeping it real. Do you have any hedgerows? I like a row of very densely planted bird seed sunflowers. Seems to attract a little bit of everything and takes the first hit of damage that brings in the predator
@@cliffpalermo not really… but I just signed paperwork with the NRCS for a $30k grant to turn my front yard into a pollinator garden! So super excited to see that come to fruition! 🙌 thanks for following along 🙏
Any experience with the flea Beatles? They are really bad here (MN) in the spring. We just experienced a minor spell of aphids. Iv been gardening little over 10 years and never have had to deal with aphids. Not to sure how I'll manage them moving forward if they continue to be a problem. Cabbage loopers were horrible for us this year. Things seem to come and go in spells. flea beatles would be my biggest issue. They just about destroy all my brassicas every spring. Im thinking trap crop next spring perhaps...
I have pretty good success using Protek net to protect from flee Beatles on arugula, radishes, and turnips. But every now and then the insect netting will trap aphids and it backfires. There’s other beneficial insects that will help with aphids such as assassin bugs that are less susceptible to ants. But honestly I just call Arbico Organics and they helped me figure out a strategy.

I’ve never used ladybugs. I called Arbico Organics and told them my issues. And that is how I learned these methods. They just told me what to do and it works for me .
