Great to see The Style Council at the end. Shame about The Jam. Always sad when bands break up like The Police. Similar to Sting, Weller went on to became a successful solo artist. Watching your video is a great start to a sunny October Sunday.

I came across some Weller solo records at Camden market yesterday for good cheap prices. I stood firm and resolute and didn't buy any but who knows how long it is before I totally cave in !!!

I wasn't a fan of the style council, trying to achieve something that didn't really need to be attempted and didn't succeed in my book, like you say a tad pretentious. I can take it or leave it but it does have a bitterest pill kind of feel!
There's a definite Jam feel I think to some of the early Style Council stuff 🤔🤔🤔 and yes I don't really know what they were trying to achieve either 🤔🤔🤔 Were they better than The Jam ??? No they wearn't

Hello there Mike,Bowie is ok but if I'm honest I'll stick with the hits LP and the odd 7" single they'll do me fine 👍👍👍 As far as the Style Council goes,I've grown to like and tolerate them I suppose but The Jam will always be best 👍👍👍 I love all that pageantry and pomp and circumstance music. I'd love to go to the last night of the proms and hear it all being played and sung 👍👍👍
So patriotic 😂 Style Council have some good songs hidden underneath all of that 80's super glossy production sheen & it was impossible to follow the Jam. 80's Bowie is shite...well not anything before Let's Dance. Kate Bush scared me as a kid. All that freaky dancing & those unblinking wide staring eyes! On paper Japan & solo David Sylvian should be right up my alley, but it just doesn't click for me. I tried getting into the style council. I had home and abroad but traded it in as the shop had funnily enough a Bowie album I really wanted. I might re buy it, really liked walls come tumbling down. I also used to have the human league album with don’t you want me on it but traded in too. I liked it but there was some other record I wanted and plus having such limited space. My bedroom is tiny. Iv never listened to Jethro Tull, there’s bands like that, that people consider mandatory listening that Iv never herd. Iv never listened to a full album by Pink Floyd, or Led Zeppelin, deep purple, Neil young, bob dylan, Ect
All that mandatory listening and you must own this album etc... is one rabbit hole i don't want to go down. I've only listened to one and a half Floyd albums and that was enough for me....they ain't for me !!! I've never listened to a Zeppelin album in my life and probably never will. The Style Council are ok but I'll never listen to them as much as The Jam . All the best matey 👍👍👍

Perhaps Jethro Tull should be saved for when I've grown old and decrepit 🤔🤔🤔
