Since no one's pointed it out yet, in V4C2, Jaune is watching a recording of Pyrrha in a scroll. However in V3, we saw him sob and throw his scroll during the Fall of Beacon, probably breaking it (as Weiss can't hear Jaune anymore after a certain point). A theory I vibe with is that he recovered Pyrrha's scroll, and this raw footage of her struggling to tell him her feelings (probably) was something she was recording to send him later, but obviously never got to. In the end, Jaune's heart is still breaking (and MINE, JESUS), practicing together with Pyrrha after class (at night) where no one can bother them.
Fun Fact: I believe the bit between Team RNJR/JNRR was originally a fan made concept because there was a good time gap between Volumes 3 & 4, the fans just couldn’t decide what their team would be. Oh hey, Volume 4 also had a character short (like back in Volume 1) before it released. It's a solo fight scene featuring Ruby in an abandoned town. Maybe something else for the watch list. Just look up "RWBY Volume 4 character short."
The characters and animation were definitely a step up. The thing I think turned some people off (me included) was the sudden and world-breaking lore that sprang up. Like Volume 3 established some fairy tales like the Maidens and Silver Eyes were real, and fair enough. RWBY’s always been about fairy tale motifs and it fits. But without spoiling, they went a bit far with how grand the stories got. At the same time, Volume 4 was a massive tone shift that was hard to get used to. First two volumes were very happy, Volume 3 was still goofy up until the final episodes, but the rest of the volumes onward have a darker and more stressful vibe to them.
You could tell they were having difficulty animating the fight scenes from V4-5 (minus a few times), but from V6 and onwards they REALLY regained their footing.😎👍 (this is just my opinion)

Up until that point it was decently tame in terms of the magical powers/tech advancements where the most absurd stuff was the Maidens. And then they introduced the brothers and the items which felt way out of line with average Semblances and like 6 levels of power scaling above anything we’d seen. The amount of lore that we learn is definitely gradual and I liked the lack of massive info-dumps a lot of animes have. But it was still a bombshell to introduce that story that soon.
I'll never understand why people lump 4 and 5 together. There's a seriously noticeable quality drop in the writing in season 5 from season 4. Season 4 is a massive tonal shift and I love it bc it's just a season of healing after 3's trauma. Obviously the fight scenes were suffering without Monty, but I personally still rly like the big 1v1 fight later in the season. Season 3 is peak RWBY, but I still love 4. I'm guessing they had tons of notes and stuff from Monty bc season 4 still feels like his show. 5 and on is where it feels like RWBY lost its heart.
They had wanted to move to Maya for awhile since it was an actual animation/3d modeling software as opposed to Poser, but Monty was much more comfortable with Poser. But with Monty dead they were able to make the move.

Don't know how far ahead you're watching these before posting them, but I've noticed you skipped the Volume 4 Trailer. No story really, largely Ruby slaying Grimm. However, Volume 5 also starts with 3 Trailers for Weiss, Black, and Yang and those ones do have more story to it. Volume 6 has a story Trailer as well.
Not 2 years, ruby is only about 27 months younger than yang meaning summer got pregnant when yang was about 18 months old we know raven only left when yang was old enough to not need her there to survive What I'm saying is that Tai didnt waste 2 years, he was on it immediately
One thing I'd have loved to see in this, is Weiss having a longer dress. Not suited to combat because she's being forced to be a pretty princess. But when it comes to getting away, she CUTS the dress down to her official design's length so she can use it for combat, like her old dress... that would have had a lot more impact, in my opinion.
After the Fall of Beacon no one has pushed themselves harder than Jaune. But Alicia! You're supposed to watch RWBY Chibi this season! It's a palate cleanser; some levity to lessen the sting of Season 3. It's a damn necessity.

This was probably already mentioned when Sun was introduced but I’m dumb and just realized it. Sun Wukong is the name of the Monkey King from Journey to the west, which heavily inspired Goku. (Now even more my favorite character )
Son Goku's name is a literally Japanese translation of "Sun Wukong". The name Sun Wukong (孫悟空) is commonly translated as “Monkey awakened to emptiness” which is a buddhist concept of Sunyata. And the name (孫) "Sun" alone means "Grandson" so you can say Wandering Grandson as well. So Goku's personality traits as well as Sun's are based on that kind of wandering spirit. I kind of got the feeling that Sun will just end the series with reaching enlightenment in a buddhist kind of way since he's as non-committal to people and things of their world. In the original story of Journey to the East the OG Sun Wukong reached the level's of Buddha enlightenment which is the "emptiness" that the translation mentions. Freeing one's mind of wordly matters to achieve peace. If you've read the RWBY novels that feature Sun, it's a good example of the potential path he might take,

Klein represents the Seven Dwarves which is why his eye color and personality changes often. Remember that Weiss alludes to Snow White as her name literally translates from her German name to english as "White Snow"😅 And I feel bad for Yang here since she's surrounded by reminders of Blake. She's going through her "Yangst" era of abandonment by someone she cared about. 😭😭 As for Blake, yeah I remember Arryn Zech the voice actress addressing the slaps and that she was still affected by Adam's past abuse and she didn't appreciate Sun stalking her which I totally understand. The stalking was a trigger for her since Adam did the same thing. If anything this volume definitely highlights how both Blake and Sun lack synergy as he totally doesn't get Blake. And that lack of understanding started back in the early volumes if you remember. Plus wasn't it creepy back in Volume 2 when Sun was stalking and peeking in the window of Team RWBY's dorm as they were getting themselves dressed and ready? That always bothered me. 😓
He wasn't watching them dressing. They weren't dressing in front of an open window anyway. He's not that kind of stalker....lol. As for Sun following her, it kinda depends how close they were. If they were basically dating, going after a loved one after they run from a traumatic event is NOT stalking. The fact that he didn't tell her immediately is definitely weird though. And the fact that he just followed her into the boat without talking to her....and if they weren't that close then that makes it weirder.....yeah Sun's definitely at least a little weird.... He had good intentions, but there were plenty of much more respectful paths to take....

Which goes along with their lack of synergy and Sun's lack of understanding of Blake which was part of his own mini development. As for them dating no. Miles and Kerry said they weren't dating. Blake needed an ally and someone that understood her plight as a faunus. He was basically the audience playing up the role as the information sponge so she could provide whatever exposition she could fit in. I wished CRWBY elaborated more but Monty's whole "info slow burn" schtick really left me impatient LOL. So it was basically just Sun following her the whole time and Blake allowing it since she couldn't trust the humans at that time. Which is also why she expressed a lot of concern for Velvet when they came back from their mission. (Though a lot of the context for her concern is in the After the Fall novel as a flashback).

At this point in the show my predictions (pure speculation) for Team RWBY were - Ruby's red hood and scythe weapon would earn her the title "Red Reaper", eventually mastering her silver eyes and becoming a menace for the Grimm - Yang eventually discovers that Aura, as an expression of one's soul, is not strictly bound to your physical appearance. When in duress and with her mechanical arm destroyed, she finds out that she can project an Aura construct of her missing arm (complete with dragon-themed golden armor plates, similar to her gauntlets) which finalizes her journey to overcome the trauma. - Blake witnesses the death of Sun. However, as one of the few characters who can inherently manifest his Aura outside his body, he manages to give it to her as a last gift. This effectively causes their semblances to merge - his physical manifestations completing her decoy projections and creating fully functional and indistinguishable clones of her. (She keeps his weapon and one of her clones always uses it.) - Weiss eventually puts an end to the Beast of Beacon, scarring her in the process. This allows her to summon the dragon using her semblance - not only using it as a major weapon, but also a means of transport (her Glyphs keeping her and others safely on its back). Can't honestly say which are debunked or still on track at this point, because I fell off the series somewhere around volume 6 I believe...
Klein's whole deal really doesn't make any sense if you don't know that Weiss Schnee is German for White Snow, so she's Snow White and he's 7 dwarves in 1. The fairy tale symbolism in this show is not subtle, and you really can't overlook it and still get the intended experience of the show. I don't think it would be a spoiler to start talking about it more actively.

Either way it's criminal they replaced him after all that bullshit happened, most of which was made up by other dragonball VA's cause they were jealous of how popular Vic was! This was probably already mentioned when Sun was introduced but I’m dumb and just realized it. Sun Wukong is the name of the Monkey King from Journey to the west, which heavily inspired Goku. (Now even more my favorite character )
Son Goku's name is a literally Japanese translation of "Sun Wukong". The name Sun Wukong (孫悟空) is commonly translated as “Monkey awakened to emptiness” which is a buddhist concept of Sunyata. And the name (孫) "Sun" alone means "Grandson" so you can say Wandering Grandson as well.
So Goku's personality traits as well as Sun's are based on that kind of wandering spirit. I kind of got the feeling that Sun will just end the series with reaching enlightenment in a buddhist kind of way since he's as non-committal to people and things of their world. In the original story of Journey to the East the OG Sun Wukong reached the level's of Buddha enlightenment which is the "emptiness" that the translation mentions. Freeing one's mind of wordly matters to achieve peace.
If you've read the RWBY novels that feature Sun, it's a good example of the potential path he might take,

And I feel bad for Yang here since she's surrounded by reminders of Blake. She's going through her "Yangst" era of abandonment by someone she cared about. 😭😭
As for Blake, yeah I remember Arryn Zech the voice actress addressing the slaps and that she was still affected by Adam's past abuse and she didn't appreciate Sun stalking her which I totally understand. The stalking was a trigger for her since Adam did the same thing. If anything this volume definitely highlights how both Blake and Sun lack synergy as he totally doesn't get Blake. And that lack of understanding started back in the early volumes if you remember. Plus wasn't it creepy back in Volume 2 when Sun was stalking and peeking in the window of Team RWBY's dorm as they were getting themselves dressed and ready? That always bothered me. 😓
He wasn't watching them dressing. They weren't dressing in front of an open window anyway. He's not that kind of stalker....lol.
As for Sun following her, it kinda depends how close they were. If they were basically dating, going after a loved one after they run from a traumatic event is NOT stalking. The fact that he didn't tell her immediately is definitely weird though. And the fact that he just followed her into the boat without talking to her....and if they weren't that close then that makes it weirder.....yeah Sun's definitely at least a little weird....
He had good intentions, but there were plenty of much more respectful paths to take....
@@azeTrom17 Yeah his intentions were good. It just wasn't well thought out. Which goes along with their lack of synergy and Sun's lack of understanding of Blake which was part of his own mini development. As for them dating no. Miles and Kerry said they weren't dating. Blake needed an ally and someone that understood her plight as a faunus. He was basically the audience playing up the role as the information sponge so she could provide whatever exposition she could fit in. I wished CRWBY elaborated more but Monty's whole "info slow burn" schtick really left me impatient LOL. So it was basically just Sun following her the whole time and Blake allowing it since she couldn't trust the humans at that time. Which is also why she expressed a lot of concern for Velvet when they came back from their mission. (Though a lot of the context for her concern is in the After the Fall novel as a flashback).

At this point in the show my predictions (pure speculation) for Team RWBY were
- Ruby's red hood and scythe weapon would earn her the title "Red Reaper", eventually mastering her silver eyes and becoming a menace for the Grimm
- Yang eventually discovers that Aura, as an expression of one's soul, is not strictly bound to your physical appearance. When in duress and with her mechanical arm destroyed, she finds out that she can project an Aura construct of her missing arm (complete with dragon-themed golden armor plates, similar to her gauntlets) which finalizes her journey to overcome the trauma.
- Blake witnesses the death of Sun. However, as one of the few characters who can inherently manifest his Aura outside his body, he manages to give it to her as a last gift. This effectively causes their semblances to merge - his physical manifestations completing her decoy projections and creating fully functional and indistinguishable clones of her. (She keeps his weapon and one of her clones always uses it.)
- Weiss eventually puts an end to the Beast of Beacon, scarring her in the process. This allows her to summon the dragon using her semblance - not only using it as a major weapon, but also a means of transport (her Glyphs keeping her and others safely on its back).
Can't honestly say which are debunked or still on track at this point, because I fell off the series somewhere around volume 6 I believe...

it's either volume 5 or 6 that Vic was still the voice of Qrow before they changed to someone new. I'm not 100% sure. Either way it's criminal they replaced him after all that bullshit happened, most of which was made up by other dragonball VA's cause they were jealous of how popular Vic was! The replacement they got was....okay, but Vic is the TRUE voice of Qrow and always will be!
