i remember there was a theory back when this first came out that Tyrian, being a scorpion faunus, is highly sensitive to vibrations, therefore when his opponents are swinging their weapons through the air he has a much easier time fighting, but when there is no weapon he cant react as quickly... therefore hand to hand is his weakness, but fighting groups of opponents is his specialty.
Its a consistent theory, he struggles when in environments where sight is required (Scorpions have bad vision), but overperforms relative to himself in areas where sight is useless.
That's a fair assumption to make really, despite only ever having one physical animal trait we know that Faunus also get the benefit of less obvious animal abilities, having night vision even when their Faunus trait isn't their eyes is one that is pointed out to us, but we have also seen fangs, the ability to roar and growl, extra agility and/or strength depending on the main Faunus trait, etc.

I like how early on, they would show characteristics of the animal the faunis were associated with in their personality. Like the way Blake acted around Ruby and Yang's dog in volume 2, in the dorm, or Sun's mischievous personality, like a stereotypical monkey.

For maidens, if you're thinking of someone as you die, and that person happens to be a young woman, then she's the first candidate for the power to go to, but if it's a guy or an old lady, then it's a random young woman. In cinder's case, it was double stacked in her favor because she already had half the power, and she's a young woman, and her attack practically ensured she was the last person in Amber's thoughts better she died. But, if you're aware of that rule of "last thought" and you know you're about to die, you could have some control in ensuring it doesn't go to someone by thinking of someone else

Honestly. Tai comes off as a know nothing dick in this season that means well but is pretty much as uninformed as he is out of the field. I blame him for Yang getting bodied all throughout V5 because shes too afraid to attack when she should because apparently shes not supposed to use her semblance she rarely uses, meanwhile Weiss and Blake may as well be chucking glyphs and shadow clones even after it doesnt work rather than doing some buildup. Its like watching an FGC champ being told no after losing once and getting bloody while amateur lower rung players are being encouraged to keep doing stupid shit and get wrecked rather than hold the ults. Kinda treats her more as a nerfed for the sake of developing other characters just to have them kinda fail by comparison when they should step up in a big fight. In my opinion V6 forward fixes this really good. Really brings back her normal fighting mentality while also focusing on the actual exploitable issue that even Winter mentioned in Volume 3, her emotions.

I don't think Qrow's bad luck directly affects him, just everyone round him. The Beowulf we saw him kill was stalking team RNJR. Qrow does probably attract more Grimm then most, but that is because of his feelings about his semblance rather then the semblance itself.
Spoilers for V6 I don't know if anyone has put this together, but I just did. The reason that the power of the maidens transfers to another person instead of just fading away, is because they came from Oz. Since the God of Light gave Ozma the power to reincarnate, his magic also goes with him. The Maiden powers are just Ozma's power in another person, so they can also be transferred upon death. My mind is blown.
Never thought of it that way but makes sense. He says his magic is diminishing, so "Ozma" is a finite volume of magical energy that can't leave the mortal world now, no matter the form he gave it.
Who else thinks that little punch combo from Qrow was one of the highlights of this volume? Just seeing him go bare knuckles was so refreshing considering we’ve had countless fights where people use their weapons and seem defenseless after losing them (in various anime mind you).

It's detailed in World of Remnant, but he convinced the Schnee Dust Company's founder, Nicolas Schnee (based on Santa Claus), to mind his dwindling health (from constant Dust-mining) and let him lead the company. - The Schnees have had different reactions of Jacques's abusive domineering. Weiss: "Fight" - snap back and be as rebellious as possible, lending to her harsh attitude in the first Volume. Winter: "Flight" - just getting away from Jacques by joining the Atlesian military. Important note on qrows semblance, it affects him as much as everyone else, more even, which means he effectively fights with not just no semblance, but a negative one. Hes just better at dealing with it than anyone else.

Winter: "Flight" - just getting away from Jacques by joining the Atlesian military. Whitley: "Fawn" - act however he can to appease the abuser and mitigate the hurt. Oh, and don't worry, I'll tell you what their mother's response was...
- The thing about the Misfortune Semblance is that Qrow can't just disable it - it's always passively active.
- Tai raises good points. Aura can only protect you for so many hits, and activating Semblances like Burn can whittle that Aura down faster. Yang has been taking a lot of hits throughout the first three Volumes, and that mentality bit her when she tried to go for Adam.
- What Whitley commented about Huntsmen...I think this is a mere prelude to seeing how Atlas typically views Huntsmen.
Wait, Jacques dyes his hair??? I thought he was just older and it turned white since we do see him with dark hair in the family portrait.
There is a theory Winter dyes her hair that I knew of from the RWBY fandom since her eyebrows are black where Whitley, Weiss and mom are white. So, possible confirmation???
Important note on qrows semblance, it affects him as much as everyone else, more even, which means he effectively fights with not just no semblance, but a negative one. Hes just better at dealing with it than anyone else.

Whitley gets way too much shit. Hes as trapped as the others are and you can see it as far as fis first appearance. All in all Weiss and Winter being indifferent or negligible to him is just as bad as the other way around. Double props for the fact his father wanted to groom him to be am heir so it seemed to Weiss and Winter moreso like he was the honoured one. Triple props to how much of an unbearable obnoxious asshole Weiss was in V1 with her title as opposed to Whitley NOT being a piece of shit to Weiss 3ver and only condemning her actions the moment she accused him.
