  • Shiranui Flare and IRyS (even though she's officially on a break) get together for this limited 1-day only Splatoon 3 event where all weapons special ability is the Trizooka! Aki Rosenthal joins them for the final few matches! With this many Splatoon addicts in the same stream, things gets wild and hectic! Not to mention, they can talk about this game forever! Apparently IRyS is clocking in some serious hours off-stream! Exciting comebacks, Clash Blaster hate, Flame backseaters and armchair experts in the chats, and more!

    I did a longer compilation this time, but as a result I neglected any "fancy" video editing. It feels like these dorks can talk about Splatoon forever!
    Tell me if this "summary" style video is a format you enjoy! OR, are the more targeted, smaller clips on a single talk topic easier to digest?

      I liked this more tbh. I don't need any fancy editing to enjoy Flare, but I definitely appreciate the work you put in on other clips.

      this format was absolutely great, i'd rather get to see them talk longer than have fancier editing. thank you for your hard work and showing everyone how precious flare is.

      this format is also great to show off the banter between Flare and others. Much appreciated as always

      thanks for helping the english crowd get to know Flare more. I think this style is pretty good though it will take a long time and people not as invested in Flare won't want to watch a 13 minute video. I think videos like these are good for compilations where she's always doing something or talking about specific things and posted every once in a while. The shorter clips would keep more peoples attention and be able to get out faster with more editing techniques thrown in.

      depends on the topic/etc; though with this a longer one was better.

    Pointy ears are adorable.

      Now that you say that, I noticed the three of them have point ears but Aki is only seen in her Gothic outfit.

    Kiara could probably explain this to them, it's similar to the German "Gesundheit", which means "health/be healthy"
    "Bless You" is basically just a way to say "God Bless You", and came from medieval Europe and sneezing being seen as a sign of plague or in some folk tales, sneezing opened the body to evil spirits.

    Damn, I didn't look at the video length before watching and was wondering why it never ended. I enjoy both styles, because you can never have enough Flare. And seeing Irys interact with JP and more of Aki is an added bonus.

    Spinners = Splatling class weapons
    These event matches (Challenges in English) are scheduled to take place over three rotations of 2 hours each
    10:13: This isn't relating to the Splattershot Nova (Space shooter in jp) but the Luna Blaster (Nova Blaster in jp), hell of a mixup

      Very helpful! I don't actually play Splatoon myself so I appreciate the help in getting the details sorted out!
      The Nova though, oof. I got played.

      @@nuiguruminiclips You did great tbh, especially considering not playing Splatoon. All the niche lingo must be hard to follow at times. I really appreciate the effort and the chunky clip. Love that these three got together by the end of the stream.

      9:35 スシ here is short for [ス]プラ[シ]ューター, the Splattershot. Which does happen to be all 3 of them though.
      9:41 I always got the impression くらくら was more "dizzy." Was surprised to see "giddy" in the JMDICT gloss. None of the three definitions in Daijisen seem to correspond.
      Was gonna mention the Nova too but @Willsky got it. I'm surprised you don't play Splatoon, with how down in the weeds you managed to get with the translation. Good work.

    This game took ownership of my life for a good bit (and even now to some extent) I have never been an FPS player my entire life, nor have I ever had interest in it. Splatoon 3 is the first of the series I actually played, and that was because I saw so many holo members play it around launch and I decided to see what the hype was about.
    And man, this game is so deceivingly addicting. Very fun, and very begginer friendly for people who dont play shooting games.
    I remember last year in Fall I would play this whenever I could in my past time during school, and I started watching Aki because she was grinding for s+10 around that time I believe.
    I remember waking up really early to finish assignments and have her streams on since she was live during those times.
    That semester was hell, but those moments were honestly very fond times.

    Gonna comment for the algorithm. I don't know if the rest of the world is ready for longer Flare clips, but a collab is a nice way to ease them in.
    Don't worry too much about the lack of "fancy" edits. Good cuts can make up for them most of the time.

    kinda frustrating that I can't understand them

    [3:32] IIRC, there was an old wives' tale that one's soul temporarily leaves their body when they sneeze, so the exclamation of "Bless you!" was to ward off evil spirits.

    Wish Mio can join these Splatoon addicts too. Might be difficult considering how much she played long time ago.

  • @Fishman465

    Aki's addiction is infamous, to the point of becoming known in splatoon circles as the girl who got -2000 points (provoking discussion on the system) who then got herself out. I still dread a repeat of the Splatoon Arc as that Arc hurt her growth.
    Splatoon is a rough stream game as there's no lull in matches and it's not uncommon to see someone like Aki die multiple times in succession. That and the inability to make a proper team for ranked produce more salt than APEX or VALORANT. I mean it can easily seem like you're up again an organized team with a bunch of misfits.
    The best in HoloPro is Fuma without doubt, but among the girls, Mio may hold the title would her playing as reduced since she actually damaged the cartilage in one hand from overplaying. So IRyS taking the spot is possible, though I hope she doesn't do the same thing.
    I do wonder if something about doing decent in such a game causes a talent to focus excessively on it. I mean, it's not a secret that most girls weren't gamers before joining (see the Mario tourney for proof). Other examples would be Choco-sensei and APEX or AZKi and Geoguesser. Though AZKi is an exception as she's godlike at the game as opposed to decentish.
    Also off stream is a real advantage as less possible lag/pressure/etc. It's why in a FPS collab, Mumei doesn't have a PoV.

    • @s07195
      @s07195 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Personally I think that it's not that they focus on it because it does numbers, just that a lot of gamers tend to just find one game they really like and go all in.

    • @Fishman465
      @Fishman465 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @s07195 I wasn't talking stream numbers but rather doing rather well in the game itself.
      Others seem more prone to variety even if it's trend influenced for the most part (Sora and Nene are more inclined to their tastes than trends)

      @@Fishman465 Ahh hmm well, them really having fun with the game probably means they will play it more often, pretty much then lmao
