    Cool pedal, but it seems a glaring omission that it's not got a momentary switch, only latching. I'd love it if it would sweep from A to B on a hold, and B to A on release.

    Excellent and straightforward explainer on these - these look like instant inspiration devices. Not even sure my use case yet, but knowing its possible opens a lot of new doors.

    Heck yah buddy. Nice video. Love Obne and that's where my expression happened. I haven't been the same since. But I never look back.

    Oh man that Expression Ramper is incredibly versatile! I was planning to get an expression pedal for my Bliss Factory and you just made the choice a whole lot easier. Great demo as always!

      Dude yes! I bet an expression controller would be so fun to use with the Bliss Factory! Thanks for watching as always, Conor! You’re the best!

    Personally, I don’t use expression pedals much in my rig, but I always appreciate the application of one when they’re used in the right context!
    Great demo and explanation, Eric! Cheers!

      Thanks so much for watching Zach! Honestly, I’m the same way. I really enjoy the expression ramper because it’s “hand and feet off” 😂 which is pretty convenient and way fun to play with!

    Utilities are a current obsession of mine. The most interesting implementation of CV/Exp functions I have access to is in my Malekko Industries Scrutator. It's a bit crusher that allows you to simultaneously us CV on like four parameters, even which go up and down, or down and then up. I don't use that one on guitar, that one is for pretty much everything else, drum beats, synths, etc. That slider looks delicious for my Malekko pedal! Thank you Eric, both of these boxes you've demoed are sweet.

      That sounds like a super cool setup!

  • @ryanmperry
    @ryanmperry 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ok these are pretty awesome. I’m sure a setup like this exists somewhere, but it would be cool to see a kind of “double decker” pedalboard with these pedals. For example- having your normal pedals on the floor with the expression controllers connected via a board that’s up on a stand so you don’t have to bend down to reach them. Could get pretty crazy with it.
    Thanks for this vid man, loving what Old Blood is putting out!
    Take care!

    These are soooo important. And about 30 years late!!! So many times have I wished I could park a setting. Now, I can!!!!! Wowzers! How expensive are they supposed to be?

    • @EricMerrow
      @EricMerrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can check out the Reverb link in the description or even head over to the Old Blood website - but I think the expression slider is ~$40 and the ramper is ~$60

    Cool demo Eric!!! I’m on the fence with expression pedals, they seem cool, but being the borderline terrible guitar player I am, they can be distracting. Gimme my fuzz/distortion pedals and I’m good. Thanks for all you do man!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

    • @EricMerrow
      @EricMerrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally understand man! I tend to not use expression controllers as well. But it always seem like when I get the idea to use one - the sounds are super cool 😂😂 I hope your new year is going well Chris!

    You think it would be ok to use your foot carefully with the slider?

    • @EricMerrow
      @EricMerrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it would be possible, but you’d definitely want to be careful as the slider is mounted directly to the pcb and isn’t made to be particularly extra robust.

    I'm imagining strapping the slider onto a guitar, using a wireless transmitter and running the output into an AB/Y box of some kind.
    Does anyone know if that would work because having a tactile control on my instrument that can control multiple filters at once or individually would be really exciting

    • @EricMerrow
      @EricMerrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s such an awesome idea! So the main thing would be that you’d need a stereo transmitter since the expression signal needs to be stereo to work. With that being the case, you’d also need a stereo ABY pedal. But! If you could find all of those, I think your idea would work!
