Tarik is amazing and his confidence is awesome, but I could tell from watching him on Lights Out with EE & Cosmos, he was overconfident and would drastically underestimate Sparg0. Sparg0 is just different
The better character won.
I don’t really see how you can just be so sure that he underestimated spargo. He just unfortunately didn’t make the correct plays at every opportunity, it happens to the best of us.
If anything, he seemed very nervous to fight spargo. I saw him missing moves that he normally rarely misses.

I'm basing my opinion off of what he said and his demeanor on Lights Out. Not really the set itself. But it's just my opinion.
Great job Tarik! You might not have won the entire set, but you did super well! You made all of us Greninja trainers proud ^.^
Never realized how bad greninja air dodge is
monke
monky
There were so many moments when Tarik could have kept his advantage state going with quick reactions. One thing I don't get is the lack of dragdown up airs.
As a gren player myself, cloud down air demolishes setups for that since cloud can then make himself safe afterwards. but yea they're so rewarding
Compared to the bracket sparg0 was playing hella off day one huh. Like movement wise it looks nothing like how he is the next day
SPARGOAT

Anyone know what song is playing here?
It's called "Lament of Innocence", it's from Castlevania
Anyone know what song is playing here 8:28
Lament of innocence
Tarik taking all the L's
took a game from sparg0 tho, not bad
Tarik
what happened to clouds up b at 1:45?
so greninja’s up-B Hydro Pump is like Mario’s FLUDD, where it basically pushes the oppenent with water. for some reason certain angles push oppenents who are recovering SUPER HIGH and i don’t understand it. maybe it’s like riding waves idk?
weird water physics in this game... been a greninja main and I got used to water shooting up people when they do certain up-b's. still a good option to kill confirm tho! (kinda like Mario's FLUDD)
I'm no greninja expert, but couldn't Tarik have used counter in some instances to avoid reversal?
Counter, as a move, on every character, sucks. Joker’s Arsene counter is the best one and still it’s rarely used. They’re only used against recoveries mainly. If you know your opponent will hit you, which I assume you do since you’re using the move that only works if they hit you, just move out of the way or hit them first. Don’t use a move which will make you more vulnerable than you will ever normally be during a match, even defensively it’s better to just airdodge than risk a counter. And they don’t hit that hard, since at the top level it’s so much more common to use medium or light hits against your opponent at high percentage instead of using a slow bit hit and counter scale with how powerful the hit is. It’s high risk low reward
@@turntech4776 then wouldn't that have made the perfect mixup during those last hit moments? To seal the deal? I know Greninja's counter can be very versatile since you can choose the direction of the attack
@@jimmydjomo1767 because you just die if you’re wrong, and you mayyybe kill if you’re right. Gambling like that doesn’t get you to the top level
@@turntech4776 ok but Cloud has some go-to kill options like that shotgun bair. I'm definitely a novice but a hard call-out from all the pressure can make the opponent think twice
@@jimmydjomo1767 it’s worse than just, playing an attack, if you’re confident they’re gonna hit you, just play an attack lmao. But I’ll tell you what, just go play against a lvl9 cpu even and see how often counter gets you hit
Cant you parry Cloud aerial spam?
gren has a wack parry game
@@SuperAaron360he does not
Space bair is pretty safe even on parries. It's also not really worth the risk if you aren't confident because Cloud gets so much off of hit/advantage.
