This is one of my favorite Mood MK2 videos on YT! So great! I know the delay might sound vanilla at first, but when you turn the clock way down and adjust time/modify, you get some really lo-fi pixelated echoes. It's actually one of my favorite delay sounds. You can also turn time all the way and use it as secondary looper and sync it the micro-looper. Oh, and latch mode basically turns it into a stereo blooper! Thanks for the wonderful demo!
I think Mood in tandem with Chase Bliss' Habit could yield some really wild stuff. I know for sure I'll be getting both soon as I can afford it, haha. Excellent video! Subscribed and looking forward to seeing future reviews! ^-^
amazing videos!!!!!! Pls Pls Pls .... If any statement is followed by "Im not going to name names..." please keep it to yourself. Its effect is worse because it stirs skepticism of most if not all big brand companies. Your opinions and experiences are your own and that is why we are here. WE TRUST YOU!!!!! lol cheers.
Great video, almost sold it to me ;) Just curious about sync when combined with beats. Is it clocked, do you have to tap it or is the beauty in the unsynced stuff?
I’m probably gonna pick this up at some point and I own the mk1. I won’t get rid of it either. There is advantages to the mk1 in terms of noise. I like that it distorts more on some settings. I use this a lot in my ambient jams. But the stereo & overdub on the MKii is definitely a nice addition. I guess what I’m saying is I see a reason to own both.
I used to think the same before these MK2's started to come out and finally decided to pull the trigger. I now own Mood MK2 and Gen Loss MK2 and in my opinion both are worth the money and extremely versatile tools, also sometimes quite surprising ways. For example the delay and reverb in Mood are pretty unique sounding ones as a solo effects. I actually am using Mood now often also just as a delay and reverb for synths, which is something I didn't think I'd be doing, when I bought it. You can also play Mood MK2 as a synth, so you can grab something into the micro-looper and then play it with midi-keyboard chromatically, like you'd had some sampler synth and then even overdub stuff on it and what ever, which is WILD. (You can check the Chase Bliss' own "Synth Mode" demo video about it on TH-cam). I also think Mood MK2 is not only for ambient stuff, even though most videos are demonstrating that side.
I agree..The Mood 2 is not only an Ambient powerhouse but the actual delay and especially reverb are very very good and wide ranging..all the way from slap back to infinite Soundscapes..@@jkoo6528
How do you get your tracks to seem so big and seperated. I cannot get this much seperation with my mood mkii. Are you post processing? I assume so. So much clarity im so curious to know how you do it lol.
@@YukiTheSynthDragon man no compressing, eq or stereo field work. Well congrats man that was a very good recording to me ear. All the bits and pieces sound nice and clear. 5:15 Turning Spread on isn't what gives you a stereo image from a mono input. That would be the "MISO" dipswitch, (Mono In Stereo Out). The Spread dipswitch changes the dynamic of the stereo imaging, making it more pronounced, and depending on what effect you're using, will bounce the panning back and forth instead of preserving whatever original stereo input there is.
@@YukiTheSynthDragon Well I guess the manual is wrong then. "If you have a mono input and want to split it to stereo output, turn on the MISO dip switch. And if you want unique stereo processing, turn on the SPREAD dip switch."
@@YukiTheSynthDragon also the hidden options let you route the spread on some effects but not others, "SPREAD SOLO Lets you engage SPREAD on one channel but not the other. This might be helpful if you want to keep your micro-loop mono, but have it pass through a ping-pong delay."
@@YukiTheSynthDragon "SPREAD does not enable stereo, MOOD is stereo by default. What it does is use the pedal’s various modes to create or change a stereo image. DELAY mode is good for illustrating the difference: With SPREAD off, the stereo image going into the pedal will be preserved. If you have a sound panned 30% to the right, for example, that’s where you will hear the echo. This is great if you don’t want any extra stereo movement and just want to loop a stereo instrument. With SPREAD on, your incoming stereo image will be altered and exaggerated. In this case, a sound panned 30% to the right will alternate back and forth between 30% to the right and 30% to the left with each echo: a ping-pong delay that mirrors your panning depth. This is great if you want to turn a mono signal into a stereo signal, or use MOOD to create a more dramatic stereo effect that’s different from your input signal."

honestly if you had to only have one or the other, I would go with the Microcosm because it can do far more. It can act as a normal delay, reverb, modulator pedal. It can be a normal phrase looper, and then all the other stuff, which is.....vast and unique. I'd say that each pedal can do things that the other can't, but the microcosm can probably do a little more that's usable in typical song writing/performing. But both are about equally awesome pedals, it's a hard choice.
It looks interesting, and I like Chase Bliss but the MK1 left a bad taste in my mouth. First MK1 I got was also defective. Then once that was resolved, I really had to go out of my way to try to use it. About 70% of the clock dial was pretty much useless on the MK1. The effects side was underwhelming and the mono was a real issue. This seems to have addressed the issues but I'm far more skeptical this time around. Ive also got the Blooper and that would be easily my favorite pedal if not for the mono. On a looper, especially, that is a real problem.
FYI, everything you mentioned has actually been improved in the MK2. The clock dial now has no noise anymore, they improved the reverb and its entirely in stereo plus the spread options which give you a wider stereo image. And if you ever wanna go back to the sound of the MK1 temporarily it has a dipswitch on the back that lets you put it into MK1 mode with all its flaws and quirks.
Have their analog pedals: warped vinyl and thermae. Magic happens... thank god I have them set up w/ midi or the magic would never happen again. On the fence w/ the mood. Great review, though. I am so sick of the same reviews over and over of the Mood. Yes... we know it is a looper and you can play a few notes on the guitar and....

27:57 The Atmo soundscapes here sound amazing
Sounds like it is the perfect pedal for your music. Glad that Chase Bliss worked with you on the return of the defective pedal.
Why do you need options isolators for midi? What happens if you don’t do that?
They provide isolation from ground loops in the case of midi
@@YukiTheSynthDragonthank you! I had no idea that midi could introduce ground loops!

I have both..Get them..U won't regret it.. Infinite amount of soundscapes with even just the 2 of them..

Great video, almost sold it to me ;) Just curious about sync when combined with beats. Is it clocked, do you have to tap it or is the beauty in the unsynced stuff?
I completely use it unsynced you should be able to feed it midi clock though. I feel it works best as an improvised ambience machine.
Microfreak and Mood 2=match made in heaven..
Very nice pedal music mixing

You can switch the new pedal into the regional mood mode. I think it retains all the noise and limitations.
Price is on the high side
Yes, i would love to buy this, but I don’t think it is practically affordable

Can you control that lower left knob, when in slip mode, via an expression pedal?
yes, any knob can be set to expression input via pedal or cv.

No post processing of the stereo image at all, just limiting and some normalization in post. I have the spread mode turned on the mood.
