    Step 6 really hit hard for me. I tell everyone ‘no’. My closest friends, my family, everybody. And he’s right. Eventually, after you say no for so long, people just stop asking you to do things. And that is the loneliest feeling in the world

I come home from work, watch porn play video games and go to sleep 😂 and one of my friends will ask me if I wanna go out and I’m like ‘fuck no I’m tired.’ Idk sorry I’m ranting. I think my issue is that once I get in a rut, it makes me more introverted, which drives me further into the rut and it’s an endless cycle

    4.) Look busy.
    5.) Wait for opportunities.
    6.) Be default no.
    7.) Be suspicious of people. Never give anyone the benefit of the doubt.
    8.) Never fix the things you dislike about yourself.
    9.) Focus on things you can't control.
    10.) Use fear as a motivator.
    11.) Only do what is comfortable.
    12.) Believe you're special.
    13.) See life not as it is, but what you want it to be.

      @@DogBiter3000 starting when I was 20, I was diagnosed with severe Crohn’s disease, and stage four intestinal cancer. I’m now 55. I’ve had 37 surgeries removing 95% of my entire gastrointestinal tract, which led to kidney failure. I’ve been clinically dead three minutes, the cancer came back three more times, I barely survived each time, I’m just an empty shell of who I used to be, and it’s a lot more than my brain process. God knows I’ve tried, people tell me I should be thankful to be alive, but just to live isn’t enough, not when you can’t go anywhere or do anything because you’re daily medical regime takes up almost all your time. Sorry to be a downer, but that’s the truth.

      You are a hero! 👑️ Don't worry about your age! You are never too late! Do anything you think which would make you happy, even tho it's a very little thing.
      And don't be sad or worried about your life, because you already won! And I think the reason you overcame death and heath problems is you deserve to enjoy ur life. May be reducing overthinking, constant negative feelings and doing any little thing which bring u joy will help. I know its hard at first, but it does a big impact
      (Eg- watching sunset, having dinner in your favorite restaurant, giving food to birds, watching a plant grow, meditating, having a little convo with a stranger or a neighbor, watching ur favorite tv show, dressing nicely, wearing ur favorite perfume) I know they are very little things, but they bring joy.
      Plus get rid of phone addiction and social media addiction. They mess up our mental health and happiness. Removing social media accounts and reducing screen time is the best decision I ever took.
      U are same age as my parents. I don't want to see them unhappy, neither you.
      I know you will definitely feel true joy. Waiting for happiness to come to you won't help. It must come from within you..because it is how you feel. So be happy!!! You got this. Love you! ❤️

Just got out of High School, and, sometimes, it feels like I'll never make it and dying would be easier, since living is too much of a chore for someone as lazy as me.
    It's like a cycle: I get motivated, I start doing stuff, I get distracted with something and then, hours or days later, I completely forget what I was supposed to be doing, indulging in something that won't bring me a better future, and then, I reach the state I'm in right now. Rinse and repeat.
    Despite that, I'm still not giving up. I know someday I'll be able to leave this cycle and be someone fully productive and happy with myself. It's not easy, but I'm gonna make it, somehow. The same goes for whoever is reading this, the first step is to realize that you're in this state and probably try to create some small habits and better your life slowly. The hardest part is the beginning.

Don't rush it, spend some time with yourself and answer this question. Then, and believe me, this works! If you have instagram, twitter facebook and other garbage, please do this. Delete your accounts, complete DETACH yourself from this garbage. The reason why I'm telling you to delete your accounts instead of just ignoring them is because, you won't ignore them, you already have it in your instict to open them. After you did these 2 things, now here comes the hardest fight yet. After you know what you want to do, or at least, if you have an idea of what would make you accomplished and proud of yourself, you need to do start small. Do it a little now, a little tomorrow. But here's the catch. Consistency is key, not how much you do in a day. Don't overpush yourself, do it a little each day, and have patience, you won't become amazing next week or next month, but you sure as hell will become better next year, and the years ahead. Also remember, do not waste time thinking about shit that you have no control over. Politics, economy all that other garbage, when you think about it and how unfair it seems, push it out of your head ASAP. Good luck stranger from youtube!       1) I need to work on that. I wake up at a decent time but I don't get out of bed for 2 hours, just sit on my phone.
      2) It's not that bad, I'm comfortable in it.
      3) Oooof, big time. My problem is, though, I get tired so quickly of just the simplest stresses, like literally tired, it's almost like it's impossible to stay productive for long (and people will tell me, oh you just don't WANT to...) but really it seems almost impossible.
      7) This is something I can't help. After over 20 years of mental abuse in my life I have become severely paranoid and unable to trust anyone.
      8) I simply accept what I cannot change. I used to be a better person but it's definitely slipped in the recent years.
      9) Thankfully I don't focus on those things
      11) Life is short. I do put effort into things, but minimal. I might need to work on putting more into it, but I still believe it's important to stay comfortable and happy. I'm a moderate hedonist.
      12) It was actually a recent revelation, a few months ago in fact, where I realized I am not special. I'm glad I realized this, it helped me a ton. I'm not happier per se, but a lot more realistic.
      More of a note to self and venting.

    This was an eye-opener. I'm so used to seeing how people say "you can do it!" and "believe in yourself!" It feels so shallow. They mean well, but when you have chronic depression, it feels like telling a drowning person to swim. My entire life I've been saying to myself "this time, things will be different. I will change," and failing every time, sinking me lower and lower into the belief that it's *me*, inherently, that is the problem. That I can't get better. That I won't get anything accomplished, because I'm not like everyone else. Everyone will surpass me, because they always have, because I am incapable of change. I've watched the world around me grow and change while I am trapped, because I am inferior.
    But this video wasn't telling me what to do to change my life for the better. It was, instead, telling me what to do to make myself miserable. It was not preachy or shallow. It felt like having a hand to hold, eyes that saw pain and grief and understood. The video along with all the comments starts to loosen the grime that has built up in my psyche from repeated failures and idling as everyone else's successes had seemed to prove my own worthlessness and inferiority.
    I wouldn't call this video life-changing. Hell, I'd only first watched it an hour ago. But what I can say is this: this has helped me feel more human. I'm so thankful I've stumbled across it. I'm gonna keep this as a reference for a long time.

That idea of entitlement is what he's referring to, that nobody else can be like you are, nobody else suffers like you do, that you're unique. The point is that other people have gone through what you've gone through, and that other people are similar to you. There's always someone else out there that's gone through what you have and made it out the other end.

    This was an eye opener, I have issues with procrastination, being uncomfortable with anything that requires real life social skills, and just being downright lazy. Not giving a damn about what I should be doing rather doing what I want to do giving myself excuses as to why it’s okay like having more time down the road to do it or some other lame excuse or just having trouble giving myself an image to others thinking they’d judge me negatively for that so I wouldn’t do it in the first place. It brought up a whole bunch of unnecessary anxiety, which was all in my head. I keep telling myself I want to change and become a better person, I’ve started going to the gym regularly which is a start but I still feel like sometimes I make it an excuse for people not to judge me or an excuse to not be lazy I don’t know why, yet after watching this video I feel as if that shouldn’t come across my mind as an excuse because it isn’t, it’s just something I want to do and that I shouldn’t use it as a reason to not be lazy and do my daily tasks. Because for one, being lazy gets you nothing in life, no accomplishment, no productivity, just dragging yourself into a deep hole of missed opportunities. Which this video helped me realize all of this, thank you for making this.

      If you tick most of the boxes, y probably should het diagnosed for ADHD, sometimes it's impossible tonget out of the miserable life without help. I found this video extremely toxic cause most of my life i tried to be like the other people, and this self help stuff puts all the burden on you.
      The senescence "get up late and be already behind everyone else"
      Everyone else in the rat race i think.
      Get up any time you want, and and try to use what you are good at to live your life, also i only recently discovered that i can say "NO" and don't feel bad about it.

      It doesn't. It made me feel worse. And I'm in this ongoing shit hole since 8 years now. I thought this was like a video on giving tips in reverse psychology. Instead this video just told me to stop every aspect of my life immediately and I dont feel comfortable with that.

      @@David_99778 Hi , thanks for your reply. I feel like I still don't find my answers yet , I try to stick to small habits for now like practicing how to write with my left hand and try learning some vocabulary with the "word of the day" method (I like learning languages) in hope that it makes me feel a bit proud of my achievements in the mid term. So to answer your question , no I haven't really made an improvement ; it still feels like I am stuck in a boring routine that doesn't benefit me that much with only few minutes of actual "lucrative work". I mentioned that I like learning languages but I feel unable to commit and that's why I am learning at a very slow pace right now (I happen to have times when my mood is high and I feel very energetic where I spend hours but that's rare , I wonder if I have BP). For the past days , I haven't been feeling too well but yesterday my mood got better and I am hopeful for today.

I'm angry, I'll yell at my wife. I'm horny, I'll masturbate to porn. But if you're disciplined, you have the freedom to do what is right and beneficial in the long-term regardless of your current mood or carnal passions.
      Personally, I don't think anyone could be a slave to discipline. It's easy to be undisciplined. You can walk away anytime, call it quits with one drink, or maybe one unethical move at work. To be disciplined is to put in a portion of yourself toward discipline in order to have the freedom to do the best thing for yourself whenever you can.

      I don't think it's about being career driver, just about simply making an effort in every aspect of your life. It's about a mindset that doing hard things and making an effort is the only way forward. You don't necessarily need to be career driven, just do the work you chose as good as you can. That's what I find. And entertainment, vacations and fun feels much better after you know you've already worked and did all you needed to!

    Watching this makes me realize I'm not as miserable as I thought, while I do half the things listed, it makes me wonder how much of my sub-conscious has been fighting back at trying to not be miserable, my mind can think all the bad thoughts it wants , but my sub-conscious will always be there being buried deep in the back fighting the good fight against absolute misery.

    For people who do not want to be miserable for the rest of their lives:
    1. Wake up at the same time everyday.
    2. Make sure your house is always clean and tidy.
    3. Don’t procrastinate. As soon as you think of something you need to do, do it.
    4. Keep busy doing tasks you need to accomplish.
    5. Always be searching for opportunities. Be proactive.
    6. Be default yes. Say yes most of the time.
    7. Always give the benefit of the doubt.
    8. Fix things you dislike about yourself; that are within your power.
    9. Focus on the things you can control.
    10. Use potential success to motivate you. Visualize your ideal self.
    11. Leave your comfort zone on a daily basis.
    12. Be humble and resonate with others.
    13. Be a realist. See life as it truly is. It will show you what you need to do to improve.

      Umm if I may, for 6, say yes especially to the divine call that you should serve and not be served. Say yes to the call to serve people even if you know they don't deserve it. Because you yourself received undeserved privileges. Because you yourself is the same as them. Undeserving of the privilege that you've received and that you will now share(-the privileges) to them, to make the world a better place before you leave.

      You know what's happening around the world, what are you doing? You can look away. However, you can never say you did not know. Serve and not be served. That's how life should be. We know people are suffering right now, what are we doing? What am I doing?

    Took a while to watch this video and it hurts that I've met all of the steps especially procrastinating, doing what is comfortable, and look busy.
    I just realized that I've been miserable for almost 5 years since I decided to stop my academic career and never went to college since then. Until now, I still keep playing video games whatever I want because it's my comfort and scrolling to social media to look busy when my family see me to avoid them encouraging me to go to college and improve myself.
    For 22 years my life, I'm at the point where I'm so hard to myself. I feel that I'm special because maybe I have undiagnosed ADHD (step 12), and everything is fine (step 13) since still have time to do something to improve my life and fix my bad habits (step 3 and step 8). Until the day that I have to do something or else I fail (step 10).
    I don't know, maybe I'm still miserable even after this reflection to myself. I hate this.
