Correction: Apparently "power posing" has been completely debunked. I was unaware of this when I made the video. While I do not believe this negates the validity of the "what's good for the body is good for the mind" sentiment, there are definitely stronger studies I could have referenced to prove that claim. My apologies.

Power posing may not be real, but standing upright, standing straight and physically dominant *does* increase testosterone and (thus) confidence as well. Obviously not only for men.
Honestly the single most important thing for having more energy is having something in your life that you're excited to do. Having something you're looking forward to when you wake up makes a gigantic difference. Unfortunately, having something to be excited about is easier said than done.
Dude forsure! I 💯 percent agree with this. I’m not happy (and always tired) either and I just feel like I can’t figure out why. And I’m super introverted so I’ve actually been putting a lot of effort into hanging out with people during the week AND when I don’t feel like it. Even if I don’t have anyone to hang out with I’ll force myself to go outside when I don’t feel like it. Like tomorrow I’m going to go surfing by myself even though I don’t feel like it because I know it’ll make me feel better. But my point is with that I guess is even though you can put in a lot of effort to better your life…you can still feel like it’s missing something or you can still feel unhappy. I’m still not sure why but a BIG one forsure is having something to be excited about weekly or everyday. And it’s hard to find things like that.
This is exactly the answer especially for me, the same mundane slave driving has chipped away at me over the past few years and caught up with me this year and just gave up and now existing. With no goal or anything to look forward to that you truly enjoy and want there is no meaning or motivation. Its even harder trying to figure out what that is or to know what it is but you just cant have it. Im tired all the time and i mean exhausted but cant sleep because i cant shut my mind down and then wake up feeling like complete shit everyday no matter how much sleep i do or don't get. Its insane and shouldn't be so hard to lead or have a decent or mediocre life. Its no wonder people become addicted to drugs and alcohol and things like that. I wish the best to everyone struggling in similar ways and battling with themselves everyday just to survive to exist
Few things I did 1) Fixing my sleep was big deal, I tried to put in 7 - 8 hours of sleep and helped a lot 2) Cut down the sugar, from liquids and drank a lot more water and Isotonic drinks. ( I live in country with warm weather) 3) Increased the height on my hair ( crazy ) but having it in the lowest height made me lean back more and feel lazy , as if Im slouching on the couch 4) Journaling my work and what I do. I always seem to forget what I did the other day so I write down everything I do related to work 5) Cut distractions and work in a cold environment. 6) Cut down on heavy meals and switch to less heavy ones. 7) Workout 6 times a week and take a off day on sunday to meet friends / play video games to destress 8) Do something competitive , I do Sim racing and also powerlifting/ strongman. Accumilate small wins that you can look back on 9) Have a supportive gf ( hardest thing to get for most guys, so I put it at the bottom). 10) Have 2 huge monitors / 1 ultra wide monitor and a good table for your workspace. Combined 64 inches of screen at 4k helps me to organize things on the screen and focus on multiple things .
1) 7 hours may not be enough for some people. Some people who train 6 times a week may need 10 hours of sleep per night. 2) Drinking water in excess can wash electrolytes out. Cutting down all sugars may not be sustainable for people who are trying to limit their fat intake. 3) For some people, actually cutting their hair may help with their depression and increase energy, by virtue of feeling fresh. 4) Good point. 5) Good point. 6) Good point. 7) Good approach. 8) Good point. 9) Excellent point, really hard in practice. 10) This may make you more prone to getting distracted in some cases. Thanks for your insights.
@@Testtest-zw5mb haha which makes my reply sort of funny and meme-ish then haha. I did not think about the chair height. Imagined you bold slouching around your couch haha

Also, anxiety and depression can cause chronic fatigue, and sometimes people don’t realize they’re suffering from that because they have loads of good ideas and projects they wanna do - maybe feeling motivated too - while their body is actually depleted of energy due to packed up failures and traumas from the past. So, if you’re feeling tired, maybe ask yourself if there are inner unresolved things you put under the mat…. The best advice that has worked for me so far is "don't spend so much time aimlessly scrolling social media." You will feel SO much better after you start using internet 'actively' (less shorts and scrolling without intention). You can find information, watch movies, read books, listen to podcasts, find art etc etc as long as it's something you sought out and have to actually focus on. Not to mention you will have time for other things and hobbies too, which you can do now, as you have more energy left.
Also I realized that the less time I spend on social media (the only one I have left is TH-cam), the more time and energy I have for relationships that really matter to me. I still need to get out there and try to make more friends - not only for me but also for the sake of my couple girlfriends who have to constantly listen to my dumb shower thoughts - but I'm moving in the right direction.
i also strongly recommend quitting yt shorts. shorts algorithms are so weird and it makes you watch toxic things too much, in general shorts seem to have more ''aggressive people''
I had sleep issues for a long time. One thing I agree with him on and made a huge difference for me. I eliminated caffeine. I can't stress how much this has helped not just with sleep but anxiety as well. I don't think people are aware of how much of it they are consuming.

1. Stop misusing caffeine - No caffeine past lunchtime 2. More sleep opportunity - No screen time before bed, make room dark 3. Nasal breathing > mouth breathing 4. Exercise 5. Healthy diet
Tip for everyone not falling asleep due to insomnia: Do not stress about the fact you don't fall asleep. The very nature of stressing (even unconsciously) keeps you from sleeping or staying asleep. Let go. Accept. Emerse yourself into a video, book, audio and forget about sleeping/having to sleep all together. Sleep comes naturally and when the body finally relaxes because your stress is no more, you'll drift off without you even noticing.
@@Shvabicu You have to de-stress about the events taking place one way or another, or else you and your sleep will lack every single time. Try meditating for as long as you can and positive affirmations.

Turns out I’m diabetic, and most likely had been for a long time before being diagnosed after lab work and checking my sugar like a million times a day (at least I feel like it’s a million times). Just a quick recap here that I did, I think the tips are helpful: 1. allocate 40-1 hour before bedtime for the body to fall into slumber 2. try not to use electronic 40-1 hour before bedtime, to prevent brain from thinking it is still daytime. 3. no coffee after 12pm 3. make the bedroom darker 4. use breathe right strips if need to, to practice nasal breathing, for better quality sleep. 5. train the body to be more active each day. the body will get use to this and eventually the body will be able to expend more and more energy each day.
Funny how I am quite the opposite. Whenever I go outside and meet with other people I feel so tired, sleepy and drained. But when i am at home, I feel fine.
About the dark curtain over the windows. Personally I find that a bad idea. I have window roller blinds and I always make sure to open one up before going to sleep, so I can normally wake up the second day. When I wake up at, say, 7 AM, I really don't feel like getting up from my bed if it is all dark and gloomy in the room. But if I see sunlight outside, it gives me motivation and wakes me up easier. I also like to see the moonlight go through my window before going to sleep, rather than a pitch dark room, but that's just my preference. You can always use sleep masks instead, tho.
@Sofia Kangas Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. I guess that in the summer they just have to be used in some countries, unless you don't mind or actually prefer to sleep with sunlight. (like me :D)
In some countries, we have panel shutters. I was actually surprised when traveling abroad to see that in some cultures they're a LOT less common. These type of shutters mean the room is almost pitch black even late in the morning.
@@Sooshee_J In Michigan, the sun doesn't rise until you've been at school for an hour through a good chunk of the winter. Little tip if you’re like me and need complete darkness to sleep and also “sunlight” to wake up… I have one of those alarm clocks that wakes you up with what is trying to mimic natural sunlight. I don’t use sound on it, it starts a gradual “sunrise” 30min before you’re supposed to wake up. I’m in the nordics where winters are dark, I usually use it a little during daytime too just to make sure I don’t develop seasonal depression. More expensive than a normal alarm clock but I’ve had mine for over 5yrs and it’s never even needed a bulb change.
I completely destroy the caffeine situation, in that I have a cup as late as 10PM sometimes. I need to get my act together with always relying on it as a quick fix.
In India we have a character on TH-cam called Vivek Bindra who claims to be motivational speaker but screams at viewers, literally his over the top persona make him look more like a comedian than a motivational speaker 😅
strangely enough, I've felt that opening windows to allow sunlight was pretty good for me. Waking up because of an alarm was really hard but waking up "naturally" with the sun eased this out and I felt much better.
Yessss! I literally moved my bed in a way so the sun rises directly on my face and it makes waking up at 7/7:30 and even 6:30 when sun starts to rise sooner sooo much easier and I don't wake up angry from an alarm 😂

To sleep a full 8 hours, you might need up to 9 hours in bed. 3. Exercise. -There is a link between physiology and psychology. -Improve your posture. -Exercise once per day but sitting down the rest of the day isn't enough. Go for walks (3-5 mins/hr), get a standing desk. 5. Diet.
This guy is a GENIUS. All the things he explains here is every advice you'll get in the hospital. I recommend these things: 1. Move more on a daily basis. If you have a hard time turning off social media set a time limit for those apps. The more energy you use throughout daytime, the less you have at night. 2. No digital screens 2 hours before bed. Blue light breaks down melotonin. I have a pill i take at 8 pm that increases my melotonin.. The hospital gave this to me. My body doesnt make it on time anymore because i completely shifted my wake-sleep-cycle. 3. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. If your currently really struggling with your sleeping cycle, then everyday. If this becomes a habit, then you can maybe shift an hour in the weekends. The whole caffeine thing i didnt even know, neither did i get that teached in the hospital. In tea is also caffeine, so ill just quit drinking dark tea in general. Since caffeine also slows down your metabolism. Meaning it takes longer for your body to transform food into energy. Making you have less energy. Everyone thats currently struggling a lot... you'll get there! Work hard and you'll get results. I wish everyone a well being!

Great ones. A slight addition on exercise: do it in the morning. I've found that the same exercise first thing in the morning (like literrally - get up, get dressed, warm up a little & go for a run) has a much greater impact on my energy levels for 3-4 hours than just doing the very same exercise after diner. Because then I get the baseline bonus from regular exercise PLUS the immediate awekening effect for the rest of the day (or well at least a few hours... I sometimes add lunch yoga/run too).

Really liked the video! I have one comment about 04:58, you can't work off your sleep debt.

@@harrisonjohn4301 Same even i don't have interest in anything, I have lost a lot of friends because I find it difficult to talk to people.
My biggest takeaway is that the more you move, the more energy is generated. And that just boosts your baseline energy

Few things I did
1) Fixing my sleep was big deal, I tried to put in 7 - 8 hours of sleep and helped a lot
2) Cut down the sugar, from liquids and drank a lot more water and Isotonic drinks. ( I live in country with warm weather)
3) Increased the height on my hair ( crazy ) but having it in the lowest height made me lean back more and feel lazy , as if Im slouching on the couch
4) Journaling my work and what I do. I always seem to forget what I did the other day so I write down everything I do related to work
5) Cut distractions and work in a cold environment.
6) Cut down on heavy meals and switch to less heavy ones.
7) Workout 6 times a week and take a off day on sunday to meet friends / play video games to destress
8) Do something competitive , I do Sim racing and also powerlifting/ strongman. Accumilate small wins that you can look back on
9) Have a supportive gf ( hardest thing to get for most guys, so I put it at the bottom).
10) Have 2 huge monitors / 1 ultra wide monitor and a good table for your workspace. Combined 64 inches of screen at 4k helps me to organize things on the screen and focus on multiple things .
on point

It might be hard, but it’s needed to purge your system from all those blocks and toxins that are currently preventing you from actually having all the energy you need 💪🏻

I used to feel sleepy always, until a few days ago. Then I stumbled upon this video and I made some changes in my lifestyle as mentioned in the video. Now I feel much more energetic. Thanks for the video 👍
I was doing all the “right” things but I was still exhausted and felt terrible. Turns out I’m diabetic, and most likely had been for a long time before being diagnosed after lab work and checking my sugar like a million times a day (at least I feel like it’s a million times). Also, my vitamin D level was really low. I’d suggest having labs done also, to make sure there’s not an underlying medical issue.
Do you live a place where no enough sunshine?
@@meganzhao1916 no. I live in Tennessee, a lot of sunshine here. And I spend a lot of time outdoors. Sometimes it doesn’t matter though. Different medical conditions can cause low vitamin D, and sometimes it just gets low for no reason the doc can determine.
How did u get ur diabetes diagnosed ? Does it show up in blood tests ?
@@zoobiedk5442 labs, mostly a HgbA1C and checking my sugar like 5 times a day in the beginning. It was staying around 400.

Just a quick recap here that I did, I think the tips are helpful:
1. allocate 40-1 hour before bedtime for the body to fall into slumber
2. try not to use electronic 40-1 hour before bedtime, to prevent brain from thinking it is still daytime.
3. no coffee after 12pm
3. make the bedroom darker
4. use breathe right strips if need to, to practice nasal breathing, for better quality sleep.
5. train the body to be more active each day. the body will get use to this and eventually the body will be able to expend more and more energy each day.
Thank uuuuuu so much !

I've been noticing lately in the mornings that I'm starting to see the sun again... and I'm really looking forward to the part of the year where the sun wakes up before I do.(:

i'd love to do this... but there is a giant streetlight right outside my window. so that kinda keeps me from sleeping.

SUMMARY:
As cliche as it sounds, it's about Sleep, Diet, and Exercise
1. Stop misusing caffeine.
-HALF of the caffeine is still in your system 5-7 hrs after.
-Don't drink caffeine past lunch time to improve your sleep and energy.
2. Get more sleep opportunity. To sleep a full 8 hours, you might need up to 9 hours in bed.
3. Fix your circadian rhythm.
-No screens before bed to boost melatonin.
-Blackout curtains/"black blanket" to darken your room.
-Breath out of your nose (BreatheRight strips etc.)
4. Exercise.
-There is a link between physiology and psychology.
-Improve your posture.
-Exercise once per day but sitting down the rest of the day isn't enough. Go for walks (3-5 mins/hr), get a standing desk.
5. Diet.
Thank you for this.

@@danuschkanayger6457 stress! Even though we are doing less now maybe, this is a stressful time
This guy is a GENIUS. All the things he explains here is every advice you'll get in the hospital. I recommend these things:
I wish everyone a well being!
caffeine gives you energy and speeds up your metabolism what are you on about
Better Ideas: I don't look at a screen, especially in bed.

Great ones. A slight addition on exercise: do it in the morning.
I've found that the same exercise first thing in the morning (like literrally - get up, get dressed, warm up a little & go for a run) has a much greater impact on my energy levels for 3-4 hours than just doing the very same exercise after diner. @@pirateKaiser Idk man, I get a lot of days off working 12s compared to 8s, and I make a good amount of money in my current job. I can take 2 PTO days and get 9 days off in a row. The sleep does suck, but the payoff is worth it to me.

This society makes me tired. You always have to give your best to bringt it to something in life. Even for just having a job and beeing able to pay your rent. You have to be available at everytime. If you're not on social media you miss a lot. This world makes me tired and sick.
I agree, I’m always tired now because I cut everyone out of my life to be alone and try to focus on myself
It really helps to not care what others think simply by reminding yourself that they often dont think at all. Sticking to the basics and enjoying the small things in life makes it a lot easier and for that you dont have to use social media. Do you 🤙🏻
Realize anything that doesn't directly concern you doesn't actually matter. That helped me cut out all social media. I'm even thinking of limiting TH-cam to 1 day a week.
If you stop using social media today, you will realize just how little you are missing. Best wishes.
Oh this has been me recently. Somehow, I will sleep in until almost one, and still feel exhausted. Throughout the day all I want is naps lol. At times, I'm worried that something is wrong with me. But you're right, I probably should pay more attention to my sleep, nutrition, and exercise. Recently, I've been slacking.
Too much sleep will cause you to be tired, also the hours (time you go to bed and get up)
This happened to me first few months of lockdown. Take care or you gonna lose your good looks
Really liked the video! I have one comment about 04:58, you can't work off your sleep debt. Sleep debt doesn't really work the way most people think in the sense that you have a debt that you can compensate for. There's only a small portion that you can actually "get back" by sleeping more.
If I remember correctly it's about 20-30 of the sleep debt.
