Fr I only remember the initial "we know she's fine though!..." video, and how else were kids supposed to interpret Dolan acting flustered and vague, like she went missing. It's almost like your young audience will pick up on that tone and here we are now. If it was framed like "Hey, this is Shima's last video, we loved working with you and wish you the best!" Boom, closure.
Now that I think about it, it wouldn't surprise me if they intentionally framed it in a way that would cause fans to obsess over "OMUHGAH, WHA HAPPUN TO HER??" Additionally, part of the reason I quit watching Planet Dolan was because it rubbed me the wrong way how they kept using the character of Shima even though the real lady clearly wants to get away from all the notoriety. I realize that the character was created by Planet Dolan themselves and thus they own the character, but it was still created to be a representation of the actual person. It's a classic case of "you may have the right to do it, but it's still the wrong thing to do."
@@farribastarfyre So to clarify, yes Planet Dolan owns the character, which is why they continued to use (the character). They just didn't have a voice actor to, well, replace her voice without it being super obvious. So instead they later switched her out for Melissa as the main side character to Dolan after it was clear Shima wasn't reprising her role. Hope that clarifies some things.

20:22; I disagree, I'm still waiting for the day Hellbent to unprivate his old streams with Shima. Those weekly streams were a goldmine for podcast topics, especially when Shima is included.
Bet they left to figure out if weirdos online would become too obsessive about them in the future, it seems they were proven correct and intend to now stay the fuck away. Besides, due to certain art of this persona, this whole thing reminds me of Eddsworld. With fans becoming so engrossed in their own sick fanfiction, they start making so much smut of real life people, it starts effecting their private life. Shimaa Luan might get the fans acting unwise, but it least they themself had the hindsight to not remain anywhere nearby them.
Honestly, I think she just slowly lost interest in doing voice work. It's easy to point fingers at the weirdos but from the looks of it to me, it seemed like a thing she did kinda for fun, but started doing less and less because she lost interest until she just stopped doing it altogether (I pick up hobbies and drop them all the time) It seemed like some side hobby for her anyways, I think alot of people just don't want to admit that Planet Dolan wasn't this huge priority for her and want to blame it on a controversial reason on her being scared off by weirdos because they don't wanna face that she probably just didn't care THAT much about a little cartoon animation online
@@almond3066 I think if she simply just did a farewell video when she lost interest, none of this would've happened and I'm sure at least some fans would've learned to come to peace with it.
@@Ttegegg if she wanted to make an everlasting impression on her fans for years to come, she would’ve stayed in with Planet Dolan. But I think her bigger priority was self-care, hence why it’s regarded as some sort of “mystery” since she ghosted even the Planet Dolan crew not just the public eye
Eh no. Shima didn't care about the nsfw artwork of the character; that was never an issue. This is a known fact that she said herself. Infact, all Dolan crew members are probably well aware that there would inevitiably be, art of them. You kinda have to accept that as an aniamted cartoon content creator and learn to let that roll of your back and not get to your head too much.
Shima has inadvertently irrevocably damaged an entire generation of innocent young men on such a mass scale it would make the Great War blush. The fact that I'm even here, that we're all here, is proof of this.
I didn’t even know the channel went animated. I watched his top ten videos and returned a few years later to see all this animation. I thought it was a completely different channel and that my mind played tricks on me.
Man this brought back memories, I loved watched Danger Dolan videos for the animation, facts, fun characters and great animation. I hope Shima is doing well in life and I wish her the best. I loved seeing seeing Hellbent and hearing his voice, lol. I also loved Melissa because I have pet bird so I'm biased. Overall I hope Danger Dolan crew are doing well and I loved their videos during my time in school. I finished University so seeing their videos felt like a long time ago.

I don’t think people realize how easy it is for you to just go off the grid on the internet. Two of the easiest ways are (assuming you didn’t use your real name and likeness that is) . . . 1) Just delete all of your profiles and replace them with completely unrelated handles and profile pics. or . . . 2) Just browse without signing in. Or if you must sign in, use an old account that people wouldn’t recognize.
Bro I just watched a 20 minute video about something I barely remember only for the conclusion to be “yeah she just kinda quit.” Still it was an intriguing ride seeing how the simplest of conclusions can be swept to the side in favor of a grand mythology of conspiracy
Although I haven’t watched Planet Doland in a long time but I do remember when I watched his channel often, Shima held a special place in my heart since she was there when I watched Planet Doland. Like what another comment stated, although her time was quite short (at least compared to other animated characters like the Owl character) and we may or may not know the exact answer on why she left but honestly. We might never know the answer but regardless, I just hope she’s doing alright.
I LOVE the egg eating reference at the end to that one shitty channel that was like undercover creeps and one dude is just watching a kids room and chomping on some boiled eggs 😭
I dead ass think SHima just went off to draw the thing that rhymes with corn and was satisfied. A lot of artist do this. Separate their styles or outright abandon more wholesome ones to help separate attention.
I had no idea this was happening since I fell out of watching Planet Dolan (actually forgot he was a thing too lmao), kinda was shocked to see this pop up on my recommended and decided to give it a watch, kinda funny to see all those people trying to just get her back through constant bugging or just telling them to straight up invade her house and get her back one way or the other, sad mentality tbh
I just clicked on this video because I was like "oh an internet mystery" and now I have to be burdened with the knowledge that Planet Dolan still exists in 2023.
Honestly, you're right about Shima being more of a mystery than a character at this point. I quit watching Planet Dolan around the time all the extra guests started showing up because I moved on to other interests but Shima was always my favorite character. I was sad that she disappeared but even if Shima were found I don't think it would mean anything at this point. Also I had completely forgotten that Dolan is the reason that the phrase "have a good one" is in my daily vernacular. Was a warm reminder of simpler times.
She was pretty much a small part of my childhood when I started watching, I hope she's doing okay tbh. But I think it would've helped more if Dolan was more direct and clear about it.
Heyo, I'm the dude from the ScareTheather interview. And uh, yea as I said, there's nothing to talk about. She just quit & moved on with life. There was no mystery. I was supprised that Dolan went on to make that new video cuz he went AFK for ~2 years himself, but eh, that's the internet for ya. Great video tho. :)
Thanks for looking at it, cool to see some people involved watch this, I appreciate the feedback because I was kinda afraid of a lot of people thinking this would be too much especially after Dolan made his.
@@chazington1073 Yea, true true. In a way, I think it makes sense cuz like, I think he was trying to go for a "so that's the truth, what's next?" kinda thing.
I always found it odd that Super Planet Dolan was intended for kids, but the animations featuring Shima were heavily sexualized and even some notable furry animators worked with Dolan. It's...uncomfortable, to say the least.
I still haven't forgotten about Shima. She's so much of a legend that I refuse to even allow her to be forgotten. And I won't stop considering her to be Dolan's greatest character
I haven't watched Danger Dolan in so long, I stopped watching their content sometime before the channel redesign so all of this is just absurd to me still, like a Mandela effect just about. I fucking love the Undertale soundtrack, that music at the end caught me off guard, I have basically the musical equivalent of photographic meme; I have dating start stuck in my head right now, my brain is like a music flas drive. I get goosebumps just by the memory alone.
14:03 Fun Fact: This isn't the actual RareKirby, they replied to this comment explaining that it was someone else pretending to be them, mostly likely a troll from one of the two Discord servers that they had beef with.
I've never heard of Planet Dolan before, but decided to watch this because I had seen Shima Luan in a video containing various famous internet cats, and she was the only one I didn't recognize.
I clicked this video thinking that it was going to be about an artist that used to draw for a pet site that used to have the username Shima Luan. I have no idea what Planet Dolan is but I’m now invested in this lol.
My personal theory is she just got bored of the same old content loop and moved on. She can't use the old account because people expect her to be the same predestinated character she was on Planet Dolan, so she just abandoned the Shima persona and just lives a normal life outside of the Plant Dolan side of things. She could literally be here watching this cackling at the speculation, or she could be off doing whatever it is she wanted to do before joining planet Dolan. I do have to say I wouldn't blame her if she quit because of how sexualized she was made from go. Like Dolan adds this girl to the group and immediately makes her like a poster girl, and let's be honest.... They did sexualize her character quite a bit in episodes. Despite her saying she doesn't care about that, I gotta say I'd find it weird if out of the blue someone contacted me to join their channel and then started sexualizing a character they gave me to voice. That being said that could be me looking too deep into it, all I can say for sure is I am certain she dropped the Shima persona but still just vibes on the internet. I don't think she's tucked away in some kinda offline off the grid cabin somewhere. Wherever she is and whatever she's doing though I hope she's enjoying herself, she was an absolute treat on Planet Dolan and deserves the time to herself. Though an update video on her main account would be kinda nice to just be like "Hey this is what's up this is why I left and this is what I am doing now."
She probably also wanted to find more audience that also has some things in common with her (like, how she’s into finding books that aren’t necessarily well known to the public. Or how she usually draws many different kinds.) without them getting the thought of her being the pink cat. That, or she probably moved out somewhere/graduated and would wanna go onwards with life. Also speaking of poster girl, that reminds me of a collaboration podcast that involved her. She would go on to mention how people would continuously mention about furry p*rn by the time she appears and how irritating it kinda gets. While she would usually hang around hellbents streams
I feel like this whole thing could have been avoided if Dolan was more direct with people and just said "unfortunately Shima has decided to pursue other things" or whatever

20:22; I disagree, I'm still waiting for the day Hellbent to unprivate his old streams with Shima. Those weekly streams were a goldmine for podcast topics, especially when Shima is included.
Damn he privated them, I didn’t know that
Bet they left to figure out if weirdos online would become too obsessive about them in the future, it seems they were proven correct and intend to now stay the fuck away.
It's easy to point fingers at the weirdos but from the looks of it to me, it seemed like a thing she did kinda for fun, but started doing less and less because she lost interest until she just stopped doing it altogether (I pick up hobbies and drop them all the time)
It seemed like some side hobby for her anyways, I think alot of people just don't want to admit that Planet Dolan wasn't this huge priority for her and want to blame it on a controversial reason on her being scared off by weirdos because they don't wanna face that she probably just didn't care THAT much about a little cartoon animation online
@@almond3066 I think if she simply just did a farewell video when she lost interest, none of this would've happened and I'm sure at least some fans would've learned to come to peace with it.
@@connorbeith3232 some? Ehhhh if people already got the answer, I think people will be just be welp. Guess she’s gone. And years do make people forget
If you squint while watching these Dolan videos, they take on an almost pornographic quality, which I find to be quite a treat.
Jesse what the fuck are you talking about
Rule 34 and CornHub ruined a whole generation
@@piranhalettuce yes it has,and degenerates are still liking the original post
@@piranhalettuce So fucking true!!
what
I didn’t even know the channel went animated. I watched his top ten videos and returned a few years later to see all this animation. I thought it was a completely different channel and that my mind played tricks on me.
I hope shima's voice actor is ok that is all I have to say.
If the Shima VS Tyler mod ever exists we need a secret Blima song
Honestly she was a fairly good voice actress and was used as a poster character that’s all I need to know and all I’ve needed to know
The most replayed part was about the most replayed parts
Man this brought back memories, I loved watched Danger Dolan videos for the animation, facts, fun characters and great animation. I hope Shima is doing well in life and I wish her the best. I loved seeing seeing Hellbent and hearing his voice, lol. I also loved Melissa because I have pet bird so I'm biased. Overall I hope Danger Dolan crew are doing well and I loved their videos during my time in school. I finished University so seeing their videos felt like a long time ago.
One may imagine her on a beach reflecting on all of her previous actions and thinking "thank god i quit while i was ahead"
I have not seen a planet dolan video in years and I don’t even care about his channel but I watched every planet dolan video you made for seemingly no reason what is wrong with me
its the comedy chaz has
Goddammit man this video made my day, it just seems like something you had a lot of fun making and I was laughing my ass off the whole time. Keep it up man, good shit
Forget about shima we got hellbent back and that's good enough for me
mmm
I don’t think people realize how easy it is for you to just go off the grid on the internet. Two of the easiest ways are (assuming you didn’t use your real name and likeness that is) . . .
1) Just delete all of your profiles and replace them with completely unrelated handles and profile pics.
or . . .
2) Just browse without signing in. Or if you must sign in, use an old account that people wouldn’t recognize.
I just miss Shima, and I wish she would have just said goodbye.
Coming back to Planet Dolan is one of last things I would ever see myself doing
Bro I just watched a 20 minute video about something I barely remember only for the conclusion to be “yeah she just kinda quit.” Still it was an intriguing ride seeing how the simplest of conclusions can be swept to the side in favor of a grand mythology of conspiracy
Because that's not technically true. She didn't "just quit" she f*cking vanished like a Thanos snap. That's not the same as "quitting"
Planet dolan is the hub for kids who had to much Internet access and I love it
That's kinda fucked up
Although I haven’t watched Planet Doland in a long time but I do remember when I watched his channel often, Shima held a special place in my heart since she was there when I watched Planet Doland.
There are very few things in this world I couldn't care less about than Planet Dolan but these videos are amazing I can't get enough
I'm in awe that anyone still cares enough about shit like Plant Dolan and sml to make such sincere videos about it. a new tuber in my top 5
There wasn't really much to say
I always assumed she got put into witness protection, strike that balance of interesting and consistent with what they said about her
This is why I’m scared to do anything with my three eleven year old cat ocs. I feel like I shouldn’t have to worry about that.
What’s up?
Don't worry, no one will care anyway.

this made me Wilhelm Scream
Heyo, I'm the dude from the ScareTheather interview. And uh, yea as I said, there's nothing to talk about. She just quit & moved on with life. There was no mystery.
I was supprised that Dolan went on to make that new video cuz he went AFK for ~2 years himself, but eh, that's the internet for ya. Great video tho. :)
Thanks for looking at it, cool to see some people involved watch this, I appreciate the feedback because I was kinda afraid of a lot of people thinking this would be too much especially after Dolan made his.
@@chazington1073 Nahh, DaftPina did a thing too; if anything I think it just helps wrap up this whole tale with bow. :)
@@jamkat7785 yeah but he mentions Shima for like 3 minutes and the rest is just about the return of Dolan
@@chazington1073 Yea, true true. In a way, I think it makes sense cuz like, I think he was trying to go for a "so that's the truth, what's next?" kinda thing.
1:35 guys, we gotta make this the most viewed
i love how youre a video essay youtuber but dont care too much please keep doing videos
"It's 2 am on a Thursday night, and you're outside Shima's house, eating eggs. Get the fuck out of here" I lost my shit lmao
edited my comment because of a spelling error and it removed the heart from Sir Chazington. :(
i could not follow a single point in this video and i feel like a toddler watching cocomelon
10/10
they replaced an r34 magnet with a new r34 magnet, bravo vince
This is unhinged and i love it
This is genuinely the first time I've thought about Dolan since I was eight years old.
As for the scaretheater thing, his earlier videos mostly covered fictional stuff that isn’t as serious as what he puts out now
i wasn't expecting a that handsome devil reference in a video about the missing cat of Planet Dolan
Well both are of Planet Dolan
22:08 I've seen this video so many times and I've only just noticed this hidden gem of a seatbelt line
I always found it odd that Super Planet Dolan was intended for kids, but the animations featuring Shima were heavily sexualized and even some notable furry animators worked with Dolan. It's...uncomfortable, to say the least.
Was it really intended for kids? Never seemed like it lol
@@AlexEEZ That's how he advertised it before in the channel's premiere trailer.
@@AluminumFusion22 well considering hellbent and others on his discord/streams were groomers... safe to say...
I still haven't forgotten about Shima. She's so much of a legend that I refuse to even allow her to be forgotten.
And I won't stop considering her to be Dolan's greatest character
I'm sorry but it really sounds like you think she's the actual character and not just an amateur voice actor.
@@AnAverageGoblin That's not the message I'm TRYING to get across, but okay
Throughout all of my viewings of your channel I never understood what is with you and planet Dolan
Many thanks for inadvertently introducing me to that handsome devil, I love his shit
a major cloog who was unprepared
Charlie
With the fact that I thought Shima was like.. Dolans #1 co-host, damn right she made an impact
Maybe the shima was the friends we made along the way
“There will not be another planet Dolan related video uploaded to this channel” - chazington 2022
The "That Handsome Devil" reference hit me like a fucking train Jesus Christ.
literally haven't even thought about planet dolan in at least 5 years. thanks for the recommendation youtube
I looked up Shima Luan on DeviantArt, god damn was THAT a mistake!
14:03 Fun Fact: This isn't the actual RareKirby, they replied to this comment explaining that it was someone else pretending to be them, mostly likely a troll from one of the two Discord servers that they had beef with.
I can vouch that this is true. (I'm the guy from the scare theater interview.)
everything will be answered in the Planet Dolan spin off: Slippin’ Shima
bro we already said, the gang ate her bro, people keep fabricating "mysteries" about it
Rich Evans: "I'm GoNnA cUm!"
I was not ready for that clip!
And now the character is back.
Sorta?
Well, kinda with now red eyes and a new british voice
It's not the same. But yeah, she's technically back, in a sense.
I've never heard of Planet Dolan before, but decided to watch this because I had seen Shima Luan in a video containing various famous internet cats, and she was the only one I didn't recognize.
Sometimes I wanna live on that Planet Dolan world
I clicked this video thinking that it was going to be about an artist that used to draw for a pet site that used to have the username Shima Luan. I have no idea what Planet Dolan is but I’m now invested in this lol.
The most pointless mystery about a person simply just quitting, it was interesting at first but overtime there's no reason to it
Babe wake up, chazington posted another video obsessing over a pink cat
Finally the videos are back, my edging streak is saved.
I dont think I have loved a channel as dumb as this in my life. Absolute masterpiece and encapsulates everything I love about the internet.
I'm undoubtedly younger than Chazington, but somehow this channel hits all the nostalgia that I have from elementary school.
Shima's in hiding now, but one day she'll get revenge for being a clickbait cow
Source: Us cats have a group chat Dolan doesn't know about
My personal theory is she just got bored of the same old content loop and moved on.
The Handsome Devil joke took me off guard
