Great explanation! I think this rule is missing from the video, so mentioning it in case everyone is learning from it: Haggis & Tatties and Haggis & Neeps are only meant to be played with the "scoring variant", where each captured card is worth 1 point.
I am not a big stickler for card quality, so I may not be the best judge for this. However, I think the quality is quite nice. The cards are 350gsm, IIRC. They have a smooth finish and feel to them.

Does the player that loses the round still add their captured cards to their total score?
Yep, in all 3 game modes, any cards you capture during the round will count towards your score no matter when you go out!
