I recently had a chance to play a few rounds of Euchre and was looking for a video to make sure I got the rules correctly. Your video was very clear and informative. Thank you!
I’ve been playing for 30 years. We always play with 3 house rules: Bottoms, Partners Best, & Screw the Dealer. We also score with the 4 & 6 of Hearts & Spades. Don’t know if all that is a Northeast Ohio thing but that’s usually how everyone plays here.
whats the name of the game that only 2 and 9 of spades, 10 of diamonds and all the aces have points and the winner is the team with higher points only 2 of spades have 3 points and the winner is the team who scores 64 points first I am not sure about the 64
Protip #1: it's best to pick a partner who's on the same wavelength as yourself. Ideally someone who can easily pick up on signals on the fly. To be a true euchre grand master you're gonna want to engage in as much surreptitious table talk as possible. The strategy is to have one partner distract your opponents with verbal gymnastics so they don't pick up on your non verbal communication with your partner. Obviously this is generally frowned upon in euchre games but is well worth the effort as it's not only hilarious but also highly effective. Remember, it's never cheating until you get caught. Sure would be nice to see my old euchre partner again. It's been a lot of years since the Table Talk Masters Open Invitational 😉🏴☠️🃏
The idea you should always lead trump is BS if I bid with the high J an Ace and a small card My p leads a trump I'm screwed if I play the J I just made the other J high play the A the next person could take it with the J. My p should lead an off suit A if they have 1 a small card to void if they don't. Anyone can win a hand when you have 2 J and an A. I love it when my opponents lead my trump to me if they take the 1st trick I'm free to run if I take it trey're toast. Play your cards not some formula!
i'd always lead High Off Suit. its very rear that your partner or opponents ever have the same amount of trumps as you. I play 6 hand Euchre and its way fun with 6.
I would only lead with a trump if I was going lone and had both bowers (to drag all all opponents trumps) and a high off suit. Or if all I had was trumps high and ow but if I had a handful of low trumps Id prefer to shake the lead and try to win tricks on trumping with low trump cards.
the two of clubs would not be in the game. But if clubs were trumps then that would beat anything in hearts and diamonds and spades but NOT the Jack of spades
the best way to learn is to play it with people who are patient and can explain your way through it. Euchre is not complicated but has lots of tricky little rules and anomalies that take a while to get familiar with but once you do it all falls into place. The first time someone tried to teach me Euchre I got very stressed and frustrated and gave up and just felt I was making a fool of myself. Then someone else taught me - someone else who was very patient and had a great way of teaching. After that a few games and I became quite pro at it. There are also variations of Euchre - such as Euchre-loo and Club Euchre but I never took to those. Club Euchre is when clubs are always trumps which i boring and Euchre -loo I never really understood an didn't see the point of.
This was the most useful Euchre video I could find for people wanting to pick up the game. Thank you!
THIS GUIDE IS AMAZING, THANK YOU SO MUCH HOLDEN!!!!!!

In addition, defenders who win all five tricks are awarded 4 points.

this is why im only allowed to play with the bridge table dividers now
Why was the Joker made for this game?
I've known it as Rail Road Euchre, meaning the Joker is higher than all the bowels.
So hard to hear....
Get your ears checked!!!
Just play pinochle
Very confusing for the beginner.
Not bad, but you lost me on the scoring with those 5's. Sorry, that didn't make any sense to me.
Holden, you're on mute.

Did not understand this at all
The video does a poor job of explaining how the trump cards work. If trump is clubs and I play the 2 of clubs does that beat an Ace of hearts?
the two of clubs would not be in the game. But if clubs were trumps then that would beat anything in hearts and diamonds and spades but NOT the Jack of spades
What a stupid comment 🤦♀️
I love this game the most popular card game in my culture
Very confusing for the beginner.
