Hmmmmm - nice - who doesn't love a Venn diagram?! So many more games I didn't know existed. Currently enjoying Fox in the Forest (2-player only trick-taker). Always exciting when you post a new vid, Adam - thank you.
I suggest that you give Tindahan [from "Filipino Fruit Market" (2009)] a try. It has changing trumps and a second layer game of area control where you can pass your turn to put a token on a trump color to get extra points. It's so much fun, but it's also so hard to find!
Daniel Solis Thanks Daniel! I’ll be covering Trickster in an upcoming video (I’m a fan) Stronghold Games/Indie Boards and Cards are doing well in these videos!!! 😁
Excellent video! I learned a lot, and ended up buying 23, Fuji Flush, Fool! and Fünf gurken based on this video. However, I feel that it is still a bit unclear. Consider for example 23. Since the win condition is fewest penalty chips, and not getting rid of your cards first, I agree that it is not a shedding game. But with rules like "If a player manages to play his last card, he returns up to three penalty chips to the supply", and “If a player drops out they receive 1 penalty chip for each card they still have in their hand” I feel that it is not quite appropriate to describe it as “no shedding”.
Your videos are just great, I learn so much :-) Btw I absolutely recommend the shedding/climbing game KRASS KARIERT (or DEALT!), it is even better than ABLUXXEN...
Kirk Shelley Hi Kirk. The Bottle Imp is a trick taking game (specifically a “point” trick taking game). It has no climbing or shedding elements. Tichu is a climbing/shedding game very similar to Haggis which I used as an example in the video.
It is called Karma or Palace - but it became famous among backpackers and is more widely known as s**thead. I’m sorry to be so mysterious about it!! :) Just keen to keep the channel family friendly.
This truly is one of my favourite videos of ALL TIME!!!!!

Wow, thanks for the detailed breakdown and discussion. I want to play all these games!

Great overview and examples! Must have been hard to find the games that fit into the venn diagram overlaps.

Oh sweet! Glad you got a chance to play since the trick taking video!
Tichu also belongs in the center of your Venn diagram.
I feel like Tichu is more of a true middle of the diagram than vampire queen is, lol. Still good video.

I agree, shedding all your hand may not be the final win condition, but it is certainly the way to win. Something similar happens in L.L.A.M.A. too.

Thanks for the awesome video!
Another great video.... Where do you think The Bottle Imp and Tichu fit into your analysis?
Kirk Shelley Hi Kirk. The Bottle
Imp is a trick taking game (specifically a “point” trick taking game). It has no climbing or shedding elements. Tichu is a climbing/shedding game very similar to Haggis which I used as an example in the video.
Been enjoying Custom Heroes lately.
Would you consider Red7 a climbing game?
Yes, I think it fulfils all the criteria - though it’s a bit of a strange one!
I never get what the censored game is

Isn’t BS a combination of all three?
