    Hey, curious creatives!
    Welcome back!
    Today, I'm using #timholtz Ranger ink in Eggplant, and my trusty #jacquardproducts Pinata brass.
    tools used were:
    ~airbrush
    ~heat tool (like the ones you use for embossing powder)
    ~taklon bristle paint brush (cheap is best - the alcohol will ruin your brushes)
    ~pipettes
    One of the perks of working on sealed ceramic/tile/porcelain, etc, is that the inks won't stain. You can get messy and clean up after. You can erase something you don't love and try as many times as you like until you're happy.
    This will still absolutely need to be sealed to protect the inked surface. I always use Krylon Kamar spray varnish (it doesn't reactivate the inks like most varnishes/fixatives/sealers). After 3 light coats of Kamar, I use Krylon's UV archival spray. I could also resin this (on a slightly modified cup turner), or apply some thin coats of brite tone for extra shine and protection. I had to get this shipped from the US to Australia because at the time of purchase, there were no Aus stockists. I don't know if there is someone yet, sorry!
    I would love to note- there's something to be said for going in without major plans. I went in on this knowing I was decorating a vase, and that's it. I let the inks guide the moves I make a lot of the time. I let my current step decide the next one. If you can embrace this and the knowledge that inks are wild and free, you will be too 😉
    I would love it if you followed along on Instagram: ...

    Yes, I am absolutely wearing a respirator when I create with alcohol inks- please make sure you do too!

    What a wonderful tutorial! I love the tip about using the small brush with alcohol to clean up the edges. Thanks for a great video!

      @@Kimmie978 i pre-dilute my brass into a needle tipped bottle, but the rest, i dilute on my page as i work the inks.

    Very beautiful. Alcohol ink is such a special medium with so many different possible effects.
    It may be difficult with that narrow opening in the vase but I have seen artists use foam and a pipe from a cup turner to hold the vase firmly. They just hold it by the pipe and turn it easily in their hands without touching the vase at all.

      @sherryleggett1612 thank you! I actually tried that with a christmas decoration once, and i just couldn't get it right- it was my best option, but i still struggled to make it feel stable enough. I was using a piece of dowel, though, because it's what i had at the time. I suspect a wider pipe would have been more ideal!

    Hi Bree, this vase is stunning. Do you seal your Alcohol Ink pieces, with a spray varnish, when you’ve completed them?
    Thanks Bree, for a great video ♥️💥🙏💐💐

    Excellent work Bree - as an Aussie can I ask what was the name of the locally produced ink you used?

      @CoolBreezeArtStudio  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Lindsay! It was by funkadelic. Their insta handle is funkadelic.com.au and there's a link to their website which is ceramictilepaper.com
      I don't know if their range has regular dye-based colours or not, i only know of their mica-based ones.

      Absolutely, you can! Alcohol inks (in this particular manner) work on non-pourous items, so if it doesn't absorb, you can work on it! 🥰

      I find a lot of affordable pieces in homeware stores and kmart! (Like this vase, that was a bargain from Kmart). I just give them a clean with isopropyl alcohol before i start inking them. As long as they're smooth and glossy, the inks will run nicely 💖

    The red/pink splotches that you put on there looks like they came straight out of the Ranger bottle. So that’s just straight up alcohol ink not diluted in anyway?

    • @CoolBreezeArtStudio
      @CoolBreezeArtStudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep that's right, the pink was straight out of the bottle for this one. It's not overly concentrated, so i didn't want to pale it out x
