    Thank you CycleCruza for the review of this baby. I have been eyeing this bike since I first laid my eyes on it... I wanted the super sport 600 RR but I find this bike more practical and still awesome looking baby.

    If you have absolutely no experience of riding a motorcycle, or you have recently passed your test and want to jump on a big bike, the 650 would be the more sensible choice or even the 500r, but the 500r is a hasn't got too much grunt. If you have been riding a 125cc or 250cc for about 7-8 months, it is likely that you would be used to how a bike handles and therefore if you really want by all means go for the 600rr. This being said both are great bikes and anyone with patients, road awareness and self control should be able to ride most motorcycles.

    • @nutnfan1
      @nutnfan1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AEparanormal 600rr is what the model is called, 600cc is how big the engine is. "cc" means cubic centimeters, and that is how engine size is measured.

    i like the 650f for beginners, a bit heavier can be good for wind less power is not as touchy doesn't need as much skill rider... i had a Yamaha fz6 just long enough to get my license, it was used with in months upgraded to the ninja 1000. could have gone with the Honda interceptor, the ninja and the interceptor are both very cool in my opinion.

    Your review is right on spot. I have a CBR650F and the insurance is cheaper and for long distance is great. The bike top speed suppose to be 140 MPH but I don't see myself going that fast anytime soon. The fastest I have take it has been 116 mph and it was early in the morning in route to work when there were nobody on the road. The quality of Honda is what I like and after watching your videos it reaffirm my opinion about the CBR650F. Great job on your review!! What would you think would be good accessories for the bike? What rear view mirrors would look good on the bike?

    I was thinking about getting the 650f as my next bike, but after looking around the Yamaha FZ-09 is cheaper and comes with twenty more horse's. I think the 650 looks better though, and seems like a more refined chassis. However, most of my riding is done in straight line cruising and I think that's where the FZ would be a better bike for me. I'm still undecided about it though, and haven't ridden them yet.

    I have the CBR650F with ABS and I add the Full Exhaust Tarmac From Two Brothers Plus Power Commander and I am keeping this bike. Saying that I want to get an additional motorcycle. I have a question which would be a better choice the CBR1000RR or the Suzuki GSX1000? I as because the Honda is more expensive than the competition and has less power. What do you guys think? I am keeping the CBR650F is almost like the Interceptor in the sense that is comfortable for long distance rides.

    I bought one (2014 matte black cbr650f) four months ago. Is there anything to do to it to be able to be identical to the 600rr as far as power and such? I just don't get how the cbr600rr has more power and is quicker when the cbr650f is obviously a 650 etc..etc.. however having said that, for my first bike and a beginner rider, this bike is amazing, truly forgiving, flickable and loves to take and handle corners

    Happy Holidays CycleCruza ... You want that clean look on your exhaust you should check out taylormade exhausts, by the way i'm not spamming or anything like that, i love that clean look it gives, however they don't have a model for my 2013 zx6r 636 such a deal breaker but if you go to taylormade webpage you'll fins one for that mean cbr1000rr ...

      johnjuice507 Yeah I know about the taylor made exhaust but you have to get a power commander or you will end up with idling issues. I wanted to avoid and keep the bike as stock as possible. The hyperflo pipe that I have was specifically designed for the 08+ cbr1000rr to replace the stock pipe without the need for a pc.

    yo cycle! very nice and quick review of the 650f. do you think it is suitable for beginners? I was recently at the honda shop heading for a cbr 500r just for quick testing how it feels sitting on it. just next to the 500r was a 650f and I gotta say: I am about 6 foot 3 and I immediately felt more comfortable on the 650f than the 500r. I am worried though about the power of the 650f since most biker advise to start on a low bike, learn to properly drive and then work up their way to bigger bikes. what do you think is the best for a "big" rider in this situation?
    greetings from germany

    • @HipsterNgariman
      @HipsterNgariman 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Treat your motorcycle with respect and humility, then you can ride pretty much everything you want to. It only depends on what you're looking for. I'm 20yo and considering this bike as my first bike because I don't have a car and will be bounded to long rides. I'm not really worried about the power, I'll be 35kw restricted...
      If I rather wanted to have fun on the twisties, I'd have an easily flickable 300cc, cheap and light, you can get out the most of it on the road.

  • @trinimedia19
    @trinimedia19 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    In terms of cost and efficiency you are right the 650f is the better bike overall. I can't see the 600rr being an advantage unless you're a track rider. Lets face it do we even need all that top end for everyday driving?

    If I could have just one bike, I would probably have the CBR650F.
    Against all the other Sport 600s, including nakeds, it would probably be my 2nd choice only to the FZ07, which is a tremendous value. I don't know how they priced it so low.
    I have the Suzuki SFV650 (Gladius) now, and it was the most fun to ride in the category back in 2009. Based on the current crop of bikes, it is probably 2nd only to the FZ07. I have not ridden the FZ07, but I have ridden the CBR650F, so I can say that it is not quite as fun to ride as the polarizing Suzuki SFV650. It's a bit heavier, though the fairings and wind protection are a welcome change.
    The CBR650F is a great all-arounder though, and it's hard to argue against that.
    On another note, it is my experience also that Japanese bike dealerships are lacking in terms of test rides. Contrast that to the two dealerships around me that sell Ducati, Aprilia, MV Agusta, Moto Guzzi, Triumph, BMW, and KTM--test rides even if you are not serious about buying--so long as you rode in on a motorcycle and have a valid license. They know that as soon as you ride the exotic metal that you will be hooked, even if it costs quite a bit more.

    • @cagednm69
      @cagednm69 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      they priced it low because it misses the fairings, a cylinder and has shitty suspension?

    • @enthused7591
      @enthused7591 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honda had a great opportunity here. The style of the wheels, exhaust, frame, swingarm, and etc. would lead you to assume that this bike weighs about 420 lbs wet. 465 lbs is relatively heavy for an 87hp inline 4 bike priced at $9,000. In comparison, I have a 2006 Honda CBR600F (Hornet 599) that weighs 440 wet and makes nearly 100hp stock. Additionally, the CB600F has higher-quality, inverted 41mm HMAS forks. In 2014, I feel like Honda could have done more, since they chose a 650cc motor, and have the technology and experience.
      For anyone who doesn't mind a naked bike (and I love naked bikes more than any other type), Yamaha is really making moves that no other manufacturer is matching. FZ-07 and FZ-09 are by far the most exciting bikes on the market for road use, and deliver the best bang for your money.

    • @cagednm69
      @cagednm69 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      $9000 in 2006 = $14000 today. Material price does not stay constant. Its difficult to give everyone a bang for buck motorcycle. The 600F was eating out the RR sales because there was hardly a difference minus the small time differences between the two. Look at Yamaha, cut costs everywhere and gave you a bike with the nicest torquey motor, but shitty frame and suspensions and fuelling issues leading to a choppy experience. Cutting costs is Suzuki's forte since they are still redesigning old stocks.and selling them cheap. Didn't expect Yamaha to go that way by cost cutting on an all new product. One Would have to be crazy to drop $2k more on aftermarket suspension to make it right.

      Find a bike junkyard or go to any bike site search older bikes. motorcyclespecs.com website lists most manufacturers for years with pics. Find a set off another bike you like hunt them down on ebay or web and get cheap cool mirrors. I have done this for many extrenal things like blinkers mirrors etc. May need a bit of modification but you get want you want and see no were else. I did this once to make custom seat, bought a used one and cut it up to make a seat I liked for a cafe project.

    I sat on one yesterday and it was very comfortable. I'm having a hard time choosing between this and the Yamaha FZ6R. I got a price quote of 6100 OTD on a new 2013 Fz6r. Can you tell me any real differences between them? I know the 650f is 9 lbs lighter, and has 50 more cc's. But its 8400 msrp, anything to justify that? Thanks for your review CycleCruza . I found a fairly local 09 ninja 650r with 5700 miles on it for 3900 otd, only little cosmetic things. If I drop it, I won't feel as bad and it'll give me time to find out what I really want in a bike. I will say that the cbr 650 did feel very comfortable though. Maybe I'll get a late model or lightly used one in a couple years.

      I do like the sound of an inline 4 but sound wasn't too high on my list of reasons to get a certain bike. Comfort, condition, and price were all higher on the list.

    I am a 5 7 135 lb guy I want 100 hp no more than 400 lb 500cc or 600 cc four. My 85 ninja weighed a bit less with 10 less hp back in 85. Straight line performance about equal to this 9 grand bike. Guess I could get another 85 ninja, update wheels and suspension and beat hell out of this for half the cost LOL Can none of the manufacturers make a 100 hp 400 pound bike for us smaller guys who like a bike that is easier to flick around? I would love a 500 twin to be a four so it had some balls. HONDA KAWASAKI all the rest you listening? Give us a true middle WEIGHT with some balls, I do not need the CBR600RR or ZX6R full power fold me like a pretzel sportbike. Is 100 hp and 400 pounds in a sporty bike so damn hard?

    These bikes are not selling at the dealers. HONDA recently knocked $1,000 off the pricetag to help move them. I would say the Yamaha FZ-07 is one of the reasons. I don't like the single headlight, makes it look like a Gixxer from the front. The mirrors don't bother me, they work okay, but some people like integrated turn-signals in the mirrors. The 650f has fairings, where the FZ-07 doesn't, but I would choose the FZ-07. FZ-07 is cheaper, and more fun to ride. Cruza, you wouldn't keep the stock exhaust on this bike either. It's just as quiet as the stock exhaust on your Fireblade. Have you heard the FZ-07 with the Yoshimura exhaust? It sounds sweet.

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheCyberMantis yeah the price is too steep, should be more in line with the FZ-07 or close to it. Integrated turn signals are much better for safety purposes. I'm more about utility and safety over looks. All stock exhausts suck but I love the look of this stock exhaust, very sleek. You are right I probably would hate the stock sound but I'm sure there will aftermarket support fro this bike eventually and keep the exhaust sleek. As far as the FZ-07/ FZ-09, I'll be doing a video on those bikes soon, on how I feel about the rider position and feel of the bike sitting on it. I'm sure the engine is sick, wish I could test ride one. I'm not a big fan of the FZ bikes as far as riding position though but I'll get into that in a future video.

    • @TheCyberMantis
      @TheCyberMantis 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sat on a new FZ-07 at the dealer, and I wanted to take it home on the spot. I thought it was great. I'm glad they didn't have a demo model to test ride! LoL
      Salesguy said they are selling almost as fast as they get them in.

    • @dougelick8397
      @dougelick8397 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sat on an FZ-07 when they came out. Compared to anything I own, it felt like a supermoto - so light and small. The seat looked like a slab, but was way comfortable. Can't tell much on the showroom floor, but it did feel great. I wanted to test ride it so bad, but wasn't in a position to buy, so it didn't feel right to ask. For the record, I don't like bikes to look like insects - I'm kind of fond of my beat to shit '93 Nighhawk 750, but the FZ-07 floated my boat big time. FWIW, $1500-$2000 + a little elbow grease'll get ya a Honda like this:
      i5.photobucket.com/albums/y194/phreon/IMAG0725_zpsad82adfc.jpg
      Fugly, but good for 0-60 in 3.8, reliable as a hammer and ya wan't cry too much if it gets dropped.

    • @csc-photo
      @csc-photo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 650F is more in line with the FZ-09 - comparing a 650F (inline 4) to an FZ-07 (twin) is a bit of a stretch for me. That said, I agree that the FZ-07 is likely pulling sales away from the 650F. The FZ-07 and FZ-09 are phenomenal bikes for the money.

      Most states get a bike license and you are good to go, that is why so many new riders crash and or die fast, we set beginners loose on 150 hp missiles and let them go become organ donors. I have ridden for 40 plus yrs, thank god I rode dirt bikes from age 6 and first street bike was 125 cc honda xl street trail bike. I knew how to ride before I got the first fast bike on the street. My first street bike was used honda 400 four super sport, then first yr ninja 600 1985. It was funny at 20 on my 600 none of my 20 something buds could ride worth a damn yet all had latest interceptors or ninjas. Most crashed them and totaled them in the first yr. 2 guys the ninja 600 was first bike they ever rode and thenon a street with traffic, neither made it to 5000 miles before being totalled, sold mine yrs later with 60,000 miles, looked and ran as good as day I picked it up. payed 3200 bucks sold it for 2000 bucks. Guy totalled it less than a yr later.

    Im 19 debating on even getting a motorcycle. i want the 2015 honda cbr650f. Im just gettign sick of the used car buisness, you get a car, it starts breaking down and its expensive as hell to buy all those new parts and install them. motorcycles, they look fantastic, great gas mileage, insurance (full coverage on motorcycle) will run me only 350 a year, vs 125 (liability) a month for a p.o.s used car ( it must be owned i cant afford full coverage and a car payment for a new or used car). basically financing a car period is out of the question. I can deal with 250 a month for a bike payment and 30 full coverage. but it is however more dangerous, and i understand that, its..sacrificing safety for more money, good looks, better gas milege, and it will last a long time (if its taken care of, and i dont get hit) It would be for school, work and back. a daily commute that will be on the highway 75% of the time. so..can i hear peoples opinions.

    Older video, and I just want to reprise my comment from earlier. I own an original SFV650 Gladius, and don't regret the decision to this day, now going on year 6 of ownership. If I could only have one bike and was on a budget, probably would still get the Honda. However, the Suzuki is still a better bike in every respect. The FZ07 is a screaming deal, but without the lighter weight, and the low price tag, I would still pick the Suzuki--I have now ridden every bike in this class. The shootout above says it better than I ever could.

      No! this has 87hp and it is all at the bottom. compared to the cbr600rr this things a monster. Why do I say that? unlike the cbr600rr where the power is all at the top above 5k rpms. This bike makes a lot of torque at lower rpms. By saying this i mean if you pop the clutch to early, the bike would slide under your butt.

      Honda doesn't always make the prettiest designs, although I think this cbr650f looks great, but you can always count on getting a reliable well-built bike when you buy a honda. I hate working on a motorcycle, rather be riding, and honda motorcycles always keep me riding.
