    I own this same bike, in white. Love the bike. Couldn't agree more with this review. I'm an every day rider and it's totally possible to ride it every day, no problem. For taller people your knees might hurt a bit after a few hours of riding it.

    For me I would derestrict the bike, then Do a sprocket change to add lower end torque for the cities. Cause I'm not going to be cranking out 140mph on this bike. If I want to go fast I'll just use my other bike.

    The current incarnation CBR650R is the _only_ inline-4 "street oriented" middle weight sportsbike available in the USA now, so while it's peaky, it's the only choice. I assume that means it's going to disappear soon, so I bought the latest gen one that now revs to a lovely 13,000 rpms. Otherwise, you can only buy the 636 / GSXR600 which are considerably more powerful and you can't really play with the whole bike on the street without going too dang fast, and totally committed ergos. Since 2018, Honda added 5 hp, trimmed 14 lbs off the ABS model, and the display is much nicer plus gear indicator. The stock clutch lever is truly way too far out, I immediately swapped it out for an adjustable Puig 3.0 lever. If you want torque and comfort get the Ninja 650 + a Corbin seat, but it's no sportsbike only looks like it and sounds like a thumper.

      @@ByronWWW I put the torque to use on the Ninja with +1 / -1 sprockets, sadly you'll need the trim at the front sprocket area, they left no room. +2 is physically impossible up front. I grabbed a zx4rr since then ...

    What are the shortcomings of riding it like a sports bike? I was hoping to hear that but the ride ended abruptly.

      It's not a sport bike. Plain and simple. If you try to push it, you will find it's limits very quickly.

    What kind of RAM mount you used for this bike?

  • @kellyjudd1078
    @kellyjudd1078 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hay I have the same bike 2015 CBR650f with ABS in Candy Blue and I love it!! But what kind of go pro mount are you using on the handle bars?? I have my stem mount but want more of a view behind/side like I could get with your set up.
    So please let me know.thanks

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kelly, I use RAM Mounts, they are light weight, strong and easy to use and mount on to the bike. The base is RAM Tough-Claw, that mounts to the handle bar of the bike, then usually a RAM Short Arm and then there are literally hundreds of choices to go from there that they make. Just go to Amazon and put in "ram mount motorcycle" and you will pull up hundreds of options to chose from.
      Ride safe, Scott

      Sure but today with dealers discounting because of low sales (corona) & OEM kick backs, you could probably negotiate a little bit more. Good luck!

    How does the torque in the lower range compare to the ninja 650? Do you get more real power in the ninja?

    True, Horn & Indicators are upside down! & also Headlight Pass button is extremely annoyingly placed. But Honda like other big companies is arrogant, won't correct it.
