Thank you Nick, I recently went out to shoot a waterfall, forgot filter adapter and polariser filter, and brought wrong lenses. To see a legend like yourself forgets things and makes the same mistakes as us makes me feel a little better about the day.

As someone who has shot with Nick, he ain't kidding!! Nothing more scary (and funny after the fact) than seeing Nick run after his camera bag floating on top of a rogue wave but able to grab it and thankfully the quality outer construction kept things dry and nice!! SOME fun times on that trip!!

Nick, I have been checking out your videos over the past couple days and I am loving it. This video was close to my heart. My grandparents owned a beach cabin in Pacific City and as such, I spent most of my youth on the coast....every weekend and every summer. We used to fish off the Capes. We would bring back burlap sacks full of fish. We didn't wear clamps on our shoes, we were barefoot. LOL.... of course this was in the late 50s. You were at my most favorite place on the planet. I took my mothers ashes out to Haystack Rock, same with my sisters. My son will take my ashes out to the same place. In my 20s I owned a Dory....loved the sea, the fish, smells, sounds, sights, love it all.
I could fill a book with my memories of the coast, especially my most favorite beach that you so wonderfully captured. You made my day with this video..thank you.
    Dan

This was a great vlog! It's nice to know you are human, and not always super Nick. :) My fav photo of the set was the wave curl, and great find on the waterfall. I am glad I'm not the only one that is not where I am supposed to be when Epic skies happen!! lol Oh, and Happy Birthday! :)

It was fun to see you out exploring my neck of the woods. Although you are braver than I at Cape Kiwanda! I had the same experience at Munson Falls, crawled way down and had to go for a different view. A side note, my German Shepherd started howling when she heard the coyotes in your last scene. Thanks for sharing the real side 😊

Nick, great vlog, it is good to see that someone else has those "shit happen's" day's. It does happen and there isn't a great deal that you can do with it, except roll with the punches and keep shooting. Fantastic images from the beach mate, love your waterfall images too, well done.

I nearly lost my life on those rocks by the water, I had NO idea a wave could come up that high, after I left my location a huge wave covered where I was standing and would have surely swept me into the ocean. I'm glad you mentioned the safely issue more than once, anyone watching listen to this man and be safe foremost.

Such a great video. I appreciate....1) The B-role. This one was unparalleled, the aerial shots of your vehicle are awesome. 2) The self-deprecation is inviting. We all fail...a lot...and to see it from you is refreshing. 3) Thank you for being responsive. My wife emailed you inquiring about a trip to Iceland and unfortunately my timing won't line up with your workshop. I'm happy to say I am going in June and have just purchased the NRS socks. Thank you for the work you put into your job. You're images are incredible, and the work you put in to help fellow photographers is much appreciated.

Thanks as always, Nick for sharing your advice and perspective. It would serve me well to be more deliberate about timing/location. You are correct. The year has not been a good one. Most of our travel has been cancelled or postponed. But we have managed to come through in good health. I am fortunate to live on the Outer Banks of NC so have been able to photograph extensively around my home area. In November a friend and I did a photo trip through southern Utah and Arizona. Enjoy your videos for your input on technique and also showing areas to consider for future trips. Would love to return to the Palouse. If I am fortunate enough to be selected for a bag the Explorer 40 would best suit my purposes.

Well from my point of view the vlog was pretty awesome, some really awesome images I especially liked the backlit wave image, it really accentuated the green of the ocean. We all screw up from time to time but to see a real pro screw up makes the rest of us mere mortals feel a better when we do the same, it also show what a humble and genuine person you are, well it does in my opinion anyway. Looking forward to you next vlog with great anticipation!!! Oh and I totally agree with Kim and Candice that J turn on the sand was awesome!!🚙🚙
