    This is one of your best videos. This video answers so many questions, even down to the pedal choices. I have a 2021 Riese & Müller Charger 3 GT Vario. Absolutely love it. I now find that I ride so much more and enjoy it so much more. These bikes are really a first or second car replacement. Thanks again! Anthony, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

    Such an eye to design details - the cable routing in the downtube aids maintenance access, reducing workshop time and resulting in quicker turnaround maintenance times for customer... everyone is a winner. R&M have really set a high bar in engineering with the latest bike releases for sure.

    This Curry matt color is incredible. It's bright but not too much and it's like if it has a touch of discretion in it. It blend very well with the other colors of the bike.

    I have a two year old dual battery Delite Mountain and am contemplating moving to the new Delite Mountain with the single integrated battery. It is a much cleaner, more "mountain bike style" design, but most of all I like the fact that it retains the potential for dual purpose. What I mean by that is that FWIK the frame can still accept the rack(although that is not made abundantly clear here) and has a stem that can be configured for more of a touring type posture(upright) when I am not wanting to fly down the twisty trails, but instead carry a trail touring load for a great distance. I work in an eBike shop, and I can't wait to see the Chili Matt(with belt and Rohloff) in person! Thanks for the video!

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comments! The new Delite Mountain has many significant changes and I think it’s going to extend the market for it.
      The Chilli Matt is my favorite color for the Delite Mountain.

    Thanks Chris for traveling to Germany and bringing this video to us! This German company is sure setting the bar high for the ebike business, offering some great innovations to this mode of transportation. I would like to have seen the baby/child seats (option) for the rear carrier, which I am interested in for my great grandchildren on these and my ebike. BTW, I like your "subscribe" logo here, with the "electric cord" bike! Keep us up to date on the great new products on the exciting ebike industry, coming here to the USA!

    Great to see the continual improvement. The Delite has changed quite a lot since I got mine February last year. I kind of miss the two tone black and white scheme but certainly in every non-subjective way it’s undeniably better. That surround for the Kiox display looks really interesting as well.
    I guess when I come to replace mine in a few years, it’s going to be really exciting to see how much will have improved by then.

    I have spent so much time looking at your EBR reviews and your Propel reviews and really wanted to thank you for the great transfer of knowledge. I have narrowed down my choice to Riese & Muller and am now sold on why I am paying so much more money. As a heavier rider at 320 pounds its nice knowing there are options for me. I still have some learning to do but I am leaning to the Super Delite (LOVE the color) for commuting and longer rides to the beach (about 20 miles each way). I am also getting my wife a bike and I did not see an option for a low step like in prior years? Its also very hard to find a place to buy these locally in the CA market? The 2020 is the only way to go with the Gen4 Bosch CX and I would like to have these before Christmas if possible.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m happy the videos have been helpful. The Superdelite is a fantastic bike and it’s becoming quite popular. The Nevo, Homage and Culture are low step bikes available this year, but they don’t have the Gen 4 motor. If you shoot me an email or give me a call I think I can help guide you a bit more. I’ll be in the Long Beach shop all day today.

      @@macmovieman1 Did you get the superdelite? I'm was going to buy one myself, but I saw that the maximum rider weight is about 250 pounds. With my 290 pounds I thought I would have to settle for a charger 3 wich is rated for 290 pound riders in its GH configuration.

    Haven’t found a such informative video in German, although the company is German. So thanks.
    Q: Might it be possible to put stuff like raingear into the space where the upper battery is?
    Of course I would need to get the transport cover.
    Thought It’ll be cool, as I only need two batteries on weekend trips.
    Anyway, heading off to the dealer to order a Superdelight Rohloff.
    The Rohloff is very much needed here in steepy Stuttgart.
    My recent Bosch CX motor broke down after three years because the derailer system just couldn’t handle our super steep vinery mountains.

    Wow. Didn't realize how RM solved the framesplit on the Load till I saw this video. Now I understood why they have a belt tensioner instead of splitting the frame. It's a interesting solution, I'm wondering what sort of wear and tear the tensioner will experience.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have used a similar design for several years on the Delite and it seems to have held up really well. Tensioners with a chain tend to get worn a lot easier.

    why change the supercharger colour, i love the blue on my 2019 version, the battery covers are a massive improvement to include the cable routing , as for the new motor, that speaks for itself, the extra bottle holder is welcome, however one should consider mounting their own holders on the bosses , changing the lock place in my opinion sacrifices much needed space which can be utilised to mount larger items on the frame .

      @Propelbikes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotcha! Yes, it’s pretty much unchanged for 2020. At this time we won’t see HS with a belt or a Rohloff. It’s either the Vario version with the CX motor or the HS motor with the derailleur and chain. Now you can also order it with the smartphone hub.

  • @darrenprior6339

    Most touring bikes (Koga for example) have a front rack designed to carry two small panniers either side of the rack. How can this bike carry more than two panniers without such a rack?

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some which can work with the Fox suspension and some which can be added to the SunTour one as well but it’s not as common due to the fork axle and how they mount. I think it depends on how much you want to carry.
      The rack is often called a low rider rack and it’s usually attached to mounting points on the rigid fork. Most suspension forks don’t have this, but you could possibly use a combination of Ubolts and a modified axle to mount it or perhaps a pair of ubolts on both sides. The trouble is you don’t want to add to much weight to adversely impact the suspension or handling.

    • @darrenprior6339
      @darrenprior6339 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Propelbikes Thanks for your reply. in long-haul bike touring it's very common to carry two on the back rack and two on the forks. For a bike costing this much I thought they may have had a better solution than an aftermarket attachment. Maybe I'm missing something here but two large bags on the back just isn't enough luggage capacity for a big trip months away from home

    Hello Chris and Martin,
    Please could i just register one negative comment i find with the Riese Müller Super Delite, also apparent in the Super Charger i had in 2018. I feel that for a brand placed at the high end of manufacturing superb premium ebikes, more attention should be given to details aesthetics. Specifically the awful frame welds which look ‘dog rough’. Surely these can be smoothed, polished and contoured to enhance the finish of the frame design?

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is intentional. The welds are stronger if they aren’t sanded. Sanded welds are inherently weaker and I think they made the right choice in this case.

    I admire the German engineering, but the bikes look too bulky. They should remain what they are--bicycles with a nice look and a little of assist power. People still need to pedal. If they want to have powerful motors, that is fine, but it doesn't make sense anymore.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As they say, different strokes for different folks. They seem to have plenty of demand for their product and many happy customers so I suspect they are onto something. There are plenty of other options on the market if you want something different.

    • @zivkovicable
      @zivkovicable 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I live in a city where rush hour car traffic averages under 5 mph., & even on a non electric bike my commute is cut in half compared to driving, & i can time bike journey times to the minute, while car journey times are more variable due to traffic, I can't drive a Nissan Leaf off road or on trails. A car has added expenses - Fuel, taxes, parking. E-bikes are much more fun than city driving. especially if your stuck in a Leaf. Of course there are much cheaper e-bikes, but this is high end gear with the best available components.

  • @leojonkers3181
    @leojonkers3181 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lots of people do not give the price. You Propel (sorry I do not no your name) never do. Riese & Müller is overpriced, better look at some normal Dutch e-bikes. Now France also have some nice normal priced bikes. Germany, Switzerland, they let you over pay. Really, I am not joking. Those countries are no bike countrys. Once I crossed the border Netherlands/Germany. Till the border I was driving on a bike path. The moment I crossed to germany, I drove on a walking path, people waiting for the bus on the same place I drove my bike. Crazy dangerous. And the most bikes I see on American vlogs are from countries where a bike is not something everybody rides. An e-bike must have a Bosch motor, the slowest motor they offer. A e-bike must still be close to a bike without a motor. That is my opinion.
