  • Friday August 11 2017 at 16.18. After a fault with the crossing was checked, the 15.50 Broomhill to Aviemore(16.23) train pulled by 46512 which was built in 1952, a great year. This is the Strathspey Railway a 10 mile long single track heritage railway with 3 stations and one level crossing. Note that it is possible for men to work on a crossing without being dressed head to toe in orange. In 2005 a steam engine hit a car here. In 2011 a report said that barriers should be installed if 93 new homes were built nearby. The cost "could be upwards of £150,000". Somewhat different to the millions Network Rail says it costs. The road is Dalfaber Drive and some call the crossing that although its the only crossing in or near Aviemore. It does look as if the alarm should come on earlier and finish earlier. The cyclist stopped by the track and checked that there wasn't another train coming.
