This is not what the normal British siren sounds like, this is just a typical crossing that has not upgraded it's bells from the traditional wooden crossing barriers yet. The normal crossing sounds like "Wee-waw Wee-waw", but interesting level crossing anyway!
Ok. Think i better clear a few things up here. The crossing is owner maintained by Highland Council. The cost of upgrading our crossing is in the region of £250000, wich the councill will not put up, so we have to make do with what we have at present. As for HSTScotsman coment, no we were not being taken to court. The crossing has a number of CCTV cameras with come on when the loco hits the treddles in the track witch activate the crossing. Anything that moves it cought on camera.
The train is nearly as long as the Strathspey Rly itself. You can't beat a good old fashioned Signal box and traditional level crossing gates (as at Blue Anchor on the West Somerset) far more civilised.
I watched this when I was young and it used to scare the crap outta me
Same when I was young.

Muito bom. eu também tenho alguns filmes (movie) ou (peliculas) de trens no youtube. para assisti-los é só digitar (clicar) FARINA e TREM. Obrigado.
Heheh...you'll be lucky.
They really ought to just install some safety barriers on the crossing lights, been so many near misses it's a wonder why they havn't already done so.
because its history.
Im suprised with all the warnings about level crossings that there are no barriers on this one. Nice film though.
