- Fresh from showing us the new Iriz, Proton now previews the facelifted 2019 Persona.
Externally, the car gets new design touches that makes it look far better proportioned than before.
Interior gets quality improvements and new "Hi Proton" infotainment for Premium spec.
Executive spec gets more equipment that brings it almost on par with the previous Premium model.

Review ini agak special sebab Saudara Kon memiliki Persona dan perbincangan perbandingan facelift dgn versi yg lama mmg terbaik.
Bab tayar pula, saya agak pelik sebab Persona tahun 2017/2018 dilengkapi dgn tayar Goodyear. Pelik jugak Proton patah balik kepada Silverstone. Saya guna Iriz pun dah tak patah balik ke Silverstone.

It look better but I still don't like the overall design..... Still prefer the C class segment persona of the previous gen. But again the quality does feel much better. great job Kon.

I having a 2017 persona, the seat really gives a super rigid support..... very comfortable!

For your information, that Silverstone kruizzer developed by toyo tyre team which is better material and comfort, not like the older one(silverstone synergy m3 tyre) that developed by s.stone team itself ..

Imo, the centre console should be dark colour because that area easy to get dirty plus dark colour looks better
Silverstone tyre wet grip will become super poor after a year or two... Used the Synergy M3 series b4..
Kena twice 180° slide in rain on a corner...not too fast, abs system did its best still can't recover from the slide, luckily didn't hit anything...😨

As a first generation Iriz owner, they really suck... Noise level tahap dewa, little to no grip, don't even need to discuss the wet grip, better off changing when you buy it immediately!

if it still makes tht keyless alert sound from outside....im really really dissapoint with.......THE HORN SOUND FREAKS ME OUT!!!......i dont like when it alerts for keyless is not in operating area by using horn on outside......i like the design though....with 2018 premium rims of course......
agreed proportion looks more refined. took out the edges that looks weird. not the best styling hues kinda reminds me of when perodua did a facelift of the Bezza's rear side.

Persona is supposed to have a more matured styling while iriz is a bit more sporty for younger audiences. Tbh, all they couldve done is just fixed the grill abit or remove it entirely from the iriz. would've looked better.
@@firyxx New Iriz doesn't look very sporty to me... Especially the front... The old front looked a lot "angrier". Now it looks very mellow. And at the back, that extended bumper and huge black strip looks like overkill. Looks very childish.
Proton try to focus their Iriz selling point to the students and for the first-time car owner. The back is good but the front is awkward looking. The chrome imo is too long..

Out of the 3 model proton released back in 2016, persona is the best. It got the handling of iriz, more power than first gen iriz and saga (1.6), The seat for passenger are more comfortable than the other smaller sibling, iriz's more upright position on the rear. Though i wish they use Iriz's rear passenger seat with adjustable headrest.

Only 2.5 years since the Persona VVT first launched in 2016. Hopefully this will not be a repeate of history. Timely facelift followed by delayed new generation.

Geely designer has much better sense of design.
Nobody mention about the Hot Pressing Foam (HPF) technology brought forward from the beginning.
Not sure this technology is in the new Iriz and Persona
This is literally the same car as before with updated looks and features. An all new model doesn't even exist yet.

@@zulrashamrahmat7266 it is a B segment car space are just enough , but overall interior quality is good , many new feature included in this 2019 Persona the enhance safety are the best in its class. I have seen and have a sit inaide this car at Autoshow Serdang Mardi last week

when customers complain about lousy silverstone and goodyear tyres, but they still insist of using it . it prove that proton do not listen to customer needs. why a customer need to buy a car waste money to change to a better tyres.

Hmm... you might want to hit up the Roda Pusing team on that. Their Persona runs on 16s and they'll be able to give you a size recommendation. PS4 at 16 inches, may not have size for all widths.

No market value
Spare parts expensive like hell. Drove a 308T (1st gen in Malaysia) before. Shared many internal parts with Citroen. Spent about 30k in the final 2 years because everything started breaking down. Cannot tahan have to give it up and sold it. Highway long journey very save minyak if you are constantly driving around 120 km/h (1 full tank KL - Penang - KL toll to toll). Handling is superb and steering feels solid and brakes very strong. Tested a Citroen ds4 before and it's feels the same with with the driving experience with my old 308t so I feel it probably has a lot of the same issues too

I wonder why the wheel size has to be so out of proportion. Increasing wheel size from 15 to 17 or even 18 will not effect FC by 99999%, the difference is negligible. Car cosmetic and reliability goes hand in hand. Give this car a good CVT and more research on industrial design and it will sell more. The price is ok already. JUST MAKE IT LOOK MORE DESIRABLE.
I think the wheel arches won't fit anything larger than 16 inches, but I do agree that they are out of proportion. I think Theophilus Chin did a render by putting all the Persona's design cues on a Preve-sized body and it created a rather handsome looking car.

The X70 maybe up there with the levels of conti cars but cars designed and developed by Malaysia like the iriz , persona etc are not comparable to them yet. In terms of refinement, comfort, technology, performance proton still have a long way to go.
No doubt proton has improved significantly but please come back to earth and think reality for a moment.
