    I used to be a RM80k C200 guy 6 years ago. Bought W204 CGI. Ada gaya mahh. Gaya comes with a cost whereby i fix until my mother also cannot recognise. 5 years of ownership, total cost to replace the parts surpass RM30k. Only the fking TCM spoil twice within 2 years cost me RM6.2k to replace new each time.. Now i bought a fortuner. No need to worry about breakdown as i always outstation. Buying conti cars are like a timebomb, anytime the car can breakdown out of nowhere…..

      @@MrHTCfan Yes. But currently the car still have problem. Total cost to replace all parts est RM10k. Diagnosis: Fuel pressure not enough, need to change fuel pump RM2k. Sprocket Cam gear round 2 to change cost RM6.5k for original, 5 years ago changed once with taiwan parts lasted only around 100k mileage. Additionally, Engine water pipe leaking and engine minor misfire due to ECU almost kong. At present, my w204 just park inside house only with just cold start every morning. Even i want to sell RM35k below market also no people want.. So you think above problems are reasonable?😂

      @@praba991ify Mileage just 248000km. Surpass RM30k just for part change and that is not including normal and gearbox oil change which cost RM550 and RM700 each time. The thing that is Most frustrated is that i need to go in workshop every few months to put down the car for few days to check. Also the same part breakdown twice. TCM - transmission control module i changed once in 2020 and another in dec 2022 which breakdown in Thailand. Now i just park inside the house because another 10k needed to fork out to fix the sprocket cam gear which is second time this round, fuel pump, and ECU. Just clock 248000km from 80000km from i bought during 2018 and always have problem. I think BMW is better, just do top overhaul, engine oil seal casket change to solve the oil leaking problem only.. Gearbox and cam gear of bmw more tahan lasak even which higher hp and torque.. Many foremen told me BMW at least can last 400000km for the cam gear & tcm before the problem i face in my merc..

    I did an excel spreadsheet to compare overall cost after 5 yrs. You don’t actually save much by buying used. New car = Depreciation only. Used car = Depreciation + Repairs + Higher loan interest (albeit absolute amount may be lower). And depending on the car, there’s often still a lot of room for used car to further depreciate in value. Nevertheless, I ended up with used car, twice. Cuz firstly it gives me access to more different cars, 2ndly the car price is lower hence psychologically doesnt feel so painful. 3rdly, there’s a chance for repair costs to be lower than forecasted (my forecast quite conservative).

    • @chanclass5720
      @chanclass5720 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Repair cost can be vary, example used F30 below RM100k, water leaking issue either reservoir or unknown hose issue. You will get knock by mechanic for RM1k per job until the job done maybe you got wrack until 4th job until get it done or you get part online and get someone you really close to and repair it and get below RM1k but conti car mechanic.....you very hard to get a very nice person. Engine oil leak, pulley loose, lose power, after you buy the 2nd conti car and so many issue, you will rather buy the new car with 5 years free service or extended warranty package.

    • @PrimeV88
      @PrimeV88 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I guess it depends on the type of used car one gets. Conti cars are not expensive to buy but they’re more expensive to maintain compared to a Japanese or even a newer Korean car. If you get a good used car that gives you trouble free motoring for several years then that’s a bargain.

    Common guys. Today’s world business trend, every CEO is answerable to shareholders on profitability.
    How to boost sales ?
    By having product intentionally designed with short life span to boost re purchase, renewal or repair.
    Typically conti car parts are designed to last the first 5 years only. But due to different usage and climate and other factors. Some parts deteriorate faster than expected ( less than 5 years ).
    But manufacturer are “happy” to replace it for free during this warranty period, knowing they will make more money later on, regardless who own this car subsequently.
    They will squeeze the juice out of you anyway as long as someone is holding on to this car.
    So, do not become the SOHAI !
    On another note, there is nothing to brag anyway. Cars like these are everywhere 😂

    I think buying a second hand car is not much of an issue. The main concern for me is to get a reliable mechanic who is able to service and repair the car especially continental car. I had an experience with my car that was virtually damaged by the mechanic as he was not competent. Challenges are always when the car is old and warranty period over when you seek to send the car to outside the official authorised service centre.

      I have seen many F10 520 diesel still running on original engine and gearbox. My w212 e200 has done more than 200k km before I sold it off with original engine, gb and ECU. Frankly speaking, most of the repairs done was on wear and tear items. Absorbers still original piece from factory when I sold it off

    U cant say use the interest paying for a new civic to pay for the merc repairs. Interest we pay over many years. If this Merc something kong, u need to fork out cash upfront. If absorber kong, u need to pay 10k upfront . This C200 is not that great to be honest. Interior looks dated, and it doesnt even drive that well. Just get a used Lexus for a peace of mind

    If you’re rich enough to own a Mercedes or BMW, always buy new 1. Otherwise, don’t even consider to buy 1 especially used Merc, BMW or Audi. Anyone who own these before knows that it’s a perfect car when it’s new, problem start to arise and won’t go away after 5 years. Merc and BMW got face mah but come with extremely high cost if you want to buy used 1. No big head, don’t wear big helmet.

    All boil down to our National Automobile Policy is distorted, to overseas the cost of a bear Axia costing about RM30K you can buy BMW 3series, since national car manufacturers have foreigners ownership in fact government should open the car industry without any protection as well as get rid of AP permit to level playing field so you and me can enjoy cheaper cars irrespective brands and petrol price is slightly more.
