- Here's a link to one of the modern version of the scanner shown in the video:

The version we have is over five years old so you would have to hunt down a used one if you want the same one. The new ones though have some better features, and work the same way.

Don is yet again very generous with sharing actionable information. He is spot on with the features of this piece of equipment. When he discussed this subject a while ago, we did our own research on top of what Don shared. I went out and purchased one and have never looked back with regret. Thanks again !!
I'd probably refrain from using it on TCG and sports cards without clear penny sleeves and test it out on some throwaway cards. Some prefer to remove the top roller. Also cards with foil/holo/chrome on the surfaces may appear flat as opposed to a camera or phone photo.
I've noticed that the DS scanners don't show the flaws very well. The pictures look better than the reality. Do you take photos of your items when this happens to how the flaws better or don't bother with it?
I don't want to damage my cards so I won't try it
Don, you have 2 uploads of the same video. OK, I see that the other video packed up halfway through. Epson DS scanner isn't something I need as I hardly ever use my printer only when I sell and that's not that often. DS scanners should be the first and only scanners you should have for any small business. My brother has the DS-860 version and it works brilliantly, he swears by the scanner so much and he has had it a couple of years now. Charles in the UK.
What is the largest size that the scanner can scan? For example, can it take ads out of a life magazine by chance?
Don, I always listen when you're teaching!
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience... do u use it to scan vintage photographs? I used to scan photographs using such scanner but I noticed flatbed scanners do better job in terms of quality but it's time consuming
TLDW: a scanner, the Epson DS510
12:15 Fujitsu double sided scanner I recommended to my accountant top pick for law offices for speed & volume but for auctions I don’t know just an FYI
too bad comics are so sensitive - that'd be a god send otherwise.
I recently went to a double sided scanner, a nice new Epson, quick but within a few loads of postcards I had a couple damaged postcards, so it may be best to use a flatbed for valuable pieces of paper.
Saving on scan time is great but researching is what really takes the most time. That's why we see dummies selling postcards for 5 cents and free shipping, they dont want to take time to research the products.
Thanx for the vid.
That was my concern. I don't want to cause damage to my ephemera docs. My flatbed scanner takes horrible pictures though.
I have over 200 pieces of ephemera that I need to take pictures of before posting them online for sale. Would a scanner like this cause any damage to the documents if I used one of these units on them? The majority of items are between 125-250 years old, and are full-page sized.
Is that particular scanner good for scanning comic books? My Canon printer has a built-in scanner but it's not capable of scanning that quickly.
I changed my business model to primarily post cards and purchased a refurbished unit directly from Epson. There is no way I could have continued reselling without it.
Genius advice as per your usual. Will it scan trading cards without damaging them? Wish you showed next step of where they scan to and what scan looks like. With film scanners do u just upload certain key scenes or stills of scenes? Slide scanner recommendation wud help too! Thanks again!
I use it in my trade cards all the time. Works great
It can damage the cards, when you get a jam the paper is stuck and the rollers roll on the stuck paper, so it might be best to think about the value of the cards and scan those rare or expensive ones with a flatbed.
Great information. Would this be suitable for postcards or trading cards with a plastic protector on it?
Based on your recommendation I got the DS-510 a year or more ago. I love it. I plan to scan my personal photos soon.
I purchased one a couple years ago when you made a video on the scanner. Never was able to get it operational. Seems like my operating systems were too new and no drivers available .time to try again.
Does this scanner work well with sports cards ? Thanks!
Good information, as always. Thank you.
Excellent points, Don! Thanks!
How do I find your store on eBay?
Good for comic books?
Thank you Don. :)
working okay
First✨
Hi, will it scan trading cards please?
Yes. However you will find that the chrome or reflective cards end up with a scan line on the image. It doesn't damage the card though.
Can the epson scanner do sports cards?
Yes. However you will find that the chrome or reflective cards end up with a scan line on the image. It doesn't damage the card though.
