Just purchased today a 2023 ZX10R KRT. Its only been home for 3 hours. I went back and forth forever on the R1 vs ZX10R. Thanks for this video. Really helped me out.

As far as the Reg R1, it has a steering dampener, so dont worry about that. Also, the stock suspension on the Reg R1 is actually really good, if you weight 200lbs or less (I went Olhins shock just cuz I weight 230, however I cant out ride the forks yet on the track). They are very easily adjustable to soften your ride on long trips, but that is done manually verses electronically on the M. In fact, the electronic suspension on the M was the reason I chose NOT to get the M. If you track your bike a lot, you generally wont want electronic suspension. Also, some say the R1 has brake fade on the track and it can happen. The fix is swapping to race pads and you are good. Finally the R1 does have a dead spot between 4000 RPM and about 5800ish RPM, but it has nothing to do with gearing. It is a mapping issues and some flashes dont get rid of it. I do my own flashing with FTECU (Flash Tune) and my bike has no dead spot what so ever.
Can i ask you something? I'm planning on trading my Aprilia rsv4 to R1 23", i installed ohlins ttx gp rearshock on the RSV4, can i install it on the R1? I hear it's compatible but needs to change the lower mount base, is that correct?
Almost every bike is sadly going to have that dead spot now the ZX has it as well. It's for Euro emissions and noise regulations. They test the bikes at both idle and 5,500 RPM not sure on the emissions end but know a bike can't exceed 92db during that test.
I have always been an R1 guy but now seeing them together and hearing the pros and cons, I would most probably pick the ZX10R now. Really good looking bike. Color scheme is cool too.

I'm a little over a year in on owning a '23 Black CB650R. Absolutely lovely bike and great for riding around the city, little trips to the gym or whatever. But I'm dying for more power. Clocked about 30,000 KM in the last year and saving up for a ZX10R by March/April 2025. Went to the dealership and looked at a '24 Gray/Green and instantly fell in love. The bike is simply the best value when comparing it to an R1 & GSXR1000. I will admit that I found the GSXR to be way more comfortable but I'm not spending over a grand more for a bike with less features. I will be keeping my CB650R since the insurance on it is around $600 a year and ZX10 be my baby when I want to take trips, do track days and just fuck around on weekends.

The R1 has currently fell behind the other 1k’s for power, brakes, and other things. I don’t believe the bike has 200hp to the wheel. I’ve been seeing 170’s-180’s on a good dyno while the zx10 is 194-200. R1 is no longer as great as everyone makes out. Time to update.

Anyone that complains about the power of certain liter bikes is absolutely delusional, thinking they're going to use that much power. No one but genuine world super bike racers is actually going to make use of that much power. 190hp vs 200hp literally makes no difference, you'll only see it on a spreadsheet and that's it. I've seen guys brag about their Ducatis or GSXR's, then go out onto the track and get overtaken in corners by literal KTM Supermoto's and 300cc sport bikes. Have you had the zx10r on track? Im interested in how well it corners compared to the R1? If it takes more effort considering the difference in geometry and weight, and how well the zx holds a line compared to the R1. Being that the zx weighs more, has a longer wheel base and a slightly increased rake compared to the R1 it seems like it wouldnt corner as well, but would be more stable at speed.
Yes. And it's a lot to handle. R1M is a beast on the track. The CBR FIREBLADE SP is special on the track. I did a DEMO DAY and I ordered one on the Spot with the Honda Rep. Now I have it and it's my FAVORITE bike I've owned.

You are lucky in USA. In Australia the standard R1 and zx10r are just under $29,000 no exhaust or mods. The R1M is just under $39,000 no exhaust or mods. A bmw s1000msport is $37,000 and ducati v4 is around the same. Both which are another league again. All nice bikes by the way. Also I am an R1 fan have a few of them from 98 onwards.

Dude I'm 30 and I've wanted a 600 since I was 17 and I'm finally doing my mod 1 and mod 2 (full bike license in the UK) PLEASE could you do this for the 600 class somehow. I've always wanted an R6 but now I'm a bit older I'm leaning towards the CBR 600RR because a friend rides a naked and I'm getting older so comfort is a bigger factor. I'd love to know from someone who has ridden the R6, ZX6R, GSXR and the CBR600RR how comfortable or workable each of the bikes are in comparison to each other. Obviously the CBR is the most comfortable and ergonomic but could you change clip ons and rear sets on the R6 to make is manageable for say, a 2 hour ride. These are the things I'd love someone to cover if possible
How often do you usually pull your air filter back out to clean it off? I have a Sprint in my ZX10 and hadn't checked it since installing about 5k miles ago.

I'm just now getting into bikes and just watched this for fun i guess cause there's no way in hell I'm starting on a 1k. But was planning on getting a zx6r for a 1st bike kinda. I mean I own a 50cc moped with like 10hp but I don't count that as a bike😭but with the zx6 having low power mode and traction control and stuff I feel like i could control it if I dont just go mach Jesus right away. But thoughts on starting on a 636?
Looking to sell my 2018 s1k soon. I ride my bike preety hard but i also do comute to work every day and wanted to ask you what do you recommend me to buy next between zx10r 2024, s1k 2024, rsv4 2024 and r1 2024. All the bikes come with steering damper just r1 hidden at front off the bike under top yoke yeah the headers on stock bike r1 and r1m cats in them as well that’s why needs full system not part
Faster acceleration (maybe. Clutchless upshifts are super easy tho) But it also decreases stopping distance. Because you can't brake and rev match at the same time without it
Cruise control alone is the major selling point when it comes to the ZX-10R.
It's sooooooooo relaxing when you're traveling long distance. I practically fell asleep leaning on the tank..

I 100% agree and lets not forget zx10r is the best looking superbike …

Well on zx10r no doubt on track its a 6 time straight Wsbk champion most wins in Wsbk.
Godbless all
@@Justfun-gg8xi heavily heavily modified zx10rr's. I'm talking about stock street zx10r's
@@jvillain9946 ohh yeah, Still Good on track But be careful about zx10r issue wobble Can be remedy by gpr stabilizer also read some forums about this solution's
@@CK_RIDESS1000rr or Fireblade?
its just me or both bolts that are suposed to fix the exhaust hanger on R1 are missing?
Great video! Why don’t you run aftermarket rear sets if you are a serious track day guy??
What tank pad is on the zx10r?
Stompgrips
@@CK_RIDES I meant tank protector lol is that the ridge one?
And when you put the exhaust on the 2020 zx10r and take the cat and everything off and if you you flash it it's dam near almost un rideable it's already so so fast
I concur 💯 It’s SCARY fast.
New to bikes. What’s the stands he’s using to hold the bikes??
These are 10 years old. They have no name.
Paddocks stand. I believe
thanks for this. Any reason to get the kawasaki 10rr over the 10r?
See I want be like This TH-camr have multiple bikes unfortunately I only have a 2008 gsxr 600 and buying an r6 2007 this week. But I want a 2024/25 R1 ninja zx10r and bmws1000rr and gsxr 1000 for flashing the bike I don’t have a full exhaust system is it still worth to flash it all I have is a slip on.
You can CKTRADERPRO.com
You are lucky in USA.
In Australia the standard R1 and zx10r are just under $29,000 no exhaust or mods. The R1M is just under $39,000 no exhaust or mods.
A bmw s1000msport is $37,000 and ducati v4 is around the same.
Both which are another league again.
All nice bikes by the way.
Also I am an R1 fan have a few of them from 98 onwards.
I feel your pain.
Just found out your channel. Its great and very informative. U got my subs bro!!!!
Thank you so much for the support.
currently riding a cbr 1000rr 19 model, thinking of upgrading to a new zx10r,is the zx10 r as nimble on tight roads as the cbr, here in UK plenty of tight bends. Keep up the excellent videos mate.
You won’t be disappointed
200 horsepower and 83 torque stock isnt fast enough without a flash ? lol im looking to get a liter bike not sure which brand to get i like all the japan bikes and bmw
Thee flash is more for Fuel Mapping. Bikes come to the states sooooo lean so they can pass emissions. the flash richens up the bike.
@@CK_RIDES my cbr650f has a two brothers full exhaust system on it, i wonder if it was ever flashed? i dont believe it was but am wondering if it would even be worth flashing? i want to get a slightly used bmws1000rr or cbr and i also like the zx10r. but some of these naked bikes look like they are nice as well. im conflicted what i want next. the 650 on the streets is still fast as hell no matter what some may say lol
Question for you ck I’ve been on 2 wheels my whole life racing dirtbikes have rode 600s and baggers I’ve been on the fence over getting zx6r or the zx10r. Disciplined and plan on taking it slow and learning the bike. Lot of windy roads here in wv don’t want to get the 636 and be disappointed. Appreciate some feed back!
If you’ve been riding for a while, don’t be afraid of a ZX 10 R you can handle it
@@CK_RIDES I’ve only rode a couple of my buddy’s 600s and have owned a street glide but already have the basics of riding from racing dirtbikes at a high level I want the zx10r but don’t wanna make the wrong decision with the 1000 only being around 25 pounds heavier is the 1k just as enjoyable on the twisty roads
So I have a zx10r please tell me if I buy an r1m will it be bigger than the Zx10r? (I just want to have a third motorcycle in the garage)
Great video.. first time seeing the channel and I have to sub
Anthony thank you for the support. I only started is a few weeks ago but the work has gotten around and everyone seems to value what I share. Thank you again for the support.
Man I'm literally going to have to flip a coin. I really find it hard to dislike most sportbike brands
They all have their strengths.
Which camera do u use for this video
iPhone.
What about the zx10r Ducati penagali v2 ?
I have a video that I’m editing for that comparison.
I’ll make a video for you.
@@CK_RIDES Thank you sir! I shall subscribe and look out for the video :) Great content!
Awesome video, my friend.... Thank you so much for posting!!!
What kind of front stands are those? I need them
How often do you usually pull your air filter back out to clean it off? I have a Sprint in my ZX10 and hadn't checked it since installing about 5k miles ago.
Once a year.
Late to the party here…looking at these 3 bike right now…mostly for street riding…I’m 6’3 which one would be the best way to go? Plan on test riding all 3, still like to hear your thoughts…appreciate it!
Hands down ZX-10R for your height.
500th like. Great video and love the genuine feedback. Trying to pick between zx10r, R1, and Gsxr 1000
V...I dont think you could go wrong with any of your choices. I will say that I LOVE my R1 and ZX-10R. They are BEASTS!!! And are a joy to ride on the track and on the street.
Casper a 636 is a GREAT place to start. You. Will. Love. It. ❤️
YEAH The ZX10R is my dream bike!!!! Beautiful machine
Tek...it's a MONSTER on two wheels.
@@CK_RIDES Yeah dude
What camera do you use ?!
I shoot all my videos on an Apple iPhone 13 Pro.
How do u flash ur bike
I do have a question, does the zx10r come with a steering damper? Or is that something you buy and/or request? Or is it just the KRT edition?
It DOES come with the steering dampener.
@@CK_RIDES I was Honda all the way but now Kawasaki bro thanks frfr
As far as I'm aware, krt is just a paint job
What is KTR on the Kawi mean? Is it just the color scheme?
Kawasaki racing team. Krt. It's just the green colours type. Purely cosmetic
I CAN DEFINITELY SAY HE ISNT LYING... I LOVE MY 2023 R1M AND ITS AMAZING! BEST BIKE IVE EVER RIDEN CHECK IT OUT!
Thank you Brother.
Looking to sell my 2018 s1k soon.
I ride my bike preety hard but i also do comute to work every day and wanted to ask you what do you recommend me to buy next between zx10r 2024, s1k 2024, rsv4 2024 and r1 2024. I m tired of s1k engine sound (it sound like it would crack the next 10 miles lol) and that would be the main reason to get a japanesse bike, never owned one, only bmw and aprilia.
Thanks and keep up the good work! 🙏🏻
I actually own everyone of those bikes and I can tell you this the BMW S1 KRR is the best bike I’ve ever owned
What bar ends and frame slides do you run on the r1s ? I have done the Moore mafia tune as you recommend and wow that man knows what he’s doing!
Please make a video on the quick shifter, how u fixed it.
That was a process of trial and error. And I will. Stay tuned. 🤓
Thanks to this video I got my ZX10R thanks so much
Zx10r vs s1000rr whice is better ?
S1000RR
In the drain , he has an exhaust of 200 forces , you have another exhaust , how much power is with him ?
They are both strong pulling bikes
great review, greetings from philippines. I've never heard or seen these bikes in person. I would greatly appreciate if I can get your opinion on which one do you think is louder? is it the R1 or ZX10r?
It really depends on your Tune and exhaust choice. Both bikes are super loud in their own special way.
Hey nice bikes! First time seeing your channel. Are you pretty close to the Charleston area? I get my bike done at kws as well! We should ride some time
I live in MYR. Are you ever up this way at the beach?
@@CK_RIDES Not usually. I stick to the greater Charleston area most of the time but will let you know if I head up that way
R1M my dream bike.
LOVE my R1M.
I have a 2022 zx6r i bought last summer with 0 miles. Before getting into an accident a few weeks back and totaling the bike i had 12,300 lol. I wanted to look into getting an rsv4 or r1 but now im worried about how much maintenance will be on those bikes compared to my zx6r that i just ride aorund town and hit rhe twisties with. The zx10 looks to be the better option for reliability as well. Any opinions?
You can’t go wrong with ZX 10 R the bike is a gem.
@@CK_RIDES thanks!
Hey! Any opinions on the r1m vs a Panigale v4 / V4s? Thanks!
I’m going to make a video for you. Deal?
@@CK_RIDES sounds good!
The quick shifter on the zx10 is terrible i was goin from 5th 6th full tuck an gas tank went into my chest knocked the wind of me
It’s a rough shift for sure. Mine even after flashing the ECU multiple times still is very harsh.
@@CK_RIDES hoping to send my ecu out in a few weeks i heard that woolich had a update that helps the quick shifter lag
All the bikes come with steering damper just r1 hidden at front off the bike under top yoke yeah the headers on stock bike r1 and r1m cats in them as well that’s why needs full system not part
Quick shifters in my opinion are, Are for people who does not want to use the clutch you might as well get an automatic.
It’s for people who want to go fast that’s who they’re for
Faster acceleration (maybe. Clutchless upshifts are super easy tho)
But it also decreases stopping distance. Because you can't brake and rev match at the same time without it
You guys that comment this shit about the quick shifter and auto blipper obviously never been on a track lmao
@@HeldIntegralexactly. These guys think they know it all lol
Nice video. Can you please compare these with BMW S1000RR?
Yes. I’m picking up my S1000RR this week.
I like The R1 but the Kawa look really really good and all the compliments you said I would go for the green bike .
Hey great video with interesting insights. I like the no nonsense approach. Looking forward to your thoughts on the S 1000 RR. Cheers. G
It’s coming. Thank you for the support.
Also, your HDR resolution makes your videos look beautiful

10r vs s1000rr best pick ??
S1000rr is the down-payment on a house..
wouldnt it be a fairer comparison to put the r1m vs the zx-10RR?
