this isnt really related to reviewing a camera but maybe you could help me out ive recently started using the sony cameras for video, but is there a away to make it match my canons skin tones in camera? i got pretty close messing about with the custom white balance values built into the camera, but still i look ill in my videos lol, if you could make a video on mastering sony skin tones for video that would be awesome!! sorry bit of an off subject question i know

Totally agree about the swivel touch screen. It's a deal breaker for my photography now if any camera is without it. Touch to focus is a game changer and I can get so many more shots in unique angles, down low, overhead, over water, upside-down, etc. Thanks for the review as I'm torn between the gh5 and this.

Yes, you CAN make high quality videos with the Olympus E-M1 mk2. And yes, it might not be a "monster" for low light, but I have never had a problem shooting in a dark venue with a 4/3 sensor in my life. My first ever 4/3 DSLR was the Olympus E-300 and noise was an issue above ISO 800, and yet, I managed to take pictures with very good results, specially when I upgraded to the Olympus E-3. Today, with fast primes you can shoot without flash at ISO 6400 with no problem with a m43 sensor. I have even "dared" to shoot a few frames at ISO 12,800 with very good results. Although you will notice the noise on screen, you won't notice the noise on your prints, hint hint ; )
It is all on how you expose, if you shoot without care thinking everything can be fixed on post, then there is your first problem. Get it right on camera and enhance your image on post, rather than fixing it. Makes a load of difference for any camera or system.

have you tried using metabones speedbooster? basically it could help to give you narrower depth of field, and speeds-up the lens by 1 full stop.
I currently own this camera, bought it last year, along with a couple pro lenses, I shoot as an amateur, and also do motovlogs on my motorcycle. I would like to include using this camera in my videos, while not on the bike of course. I am planning a trip later this year, and would like to up my game, however, other than using a gopro for video, I have very little experience. You spoke about settings in the camera, that would be similar to a flat or log format. What would be the best settings to accomplish this?
Interested to see what you think about the G85/8- and the GH5, whether that's in comparison to each other or to the E-M1 II, either would be good

I'm really struggling with focus. Would you find it worth it to use canon/sony for the amazing af, or stick with olympus for that awesome ibis? An thoughts on 12-40 f2.8 versus 12-100 f.4. I already own the 12.40 f2.8, and am wondering if I should add the 12-100 f4.
I am using Olympus OM-D's cameras and I can say they are some amazing cameras and a joy to use. They are small and light and perfect for a traveller. The EM-1 II is in my opinion the perfect camera for travelling light. As far as I know the wobble effect appears when you're using the electronic stabilisation. If you turn that off and use only the camera + lens stabilisation the wobble is gone.
Yea great camera! The wobble isnt because of the digital stabilization but it comes from the in body sensor stabilization. Its just the nature of the beast. but apparently if you turn on the digital stabilization it helps with the wobble a bit

I would say the 4k image is better then the gh4. The sony has better color science and is nice cause of the full frame sensor. But image stabilization is not even close. plus its way more expensive

I agree that this camera is amazing. I own one and use it all the time.
I think this camera gets the wrong treatment when breaking down the variable bitrate specs.
Sure it's a con, but consider what you get in return: the amazing versatile stabilization! With enough practice you can approximate so many types of camera moves without the need for a specialized rig!
Think time and space savings. For me this is my primary go to for projects that need photo and video within a tight schedule.
But it also works great as a specialized trick camera when you need to go small but still want big results.
During the car scene in the beginning it looked slightly blurred, but fixed itself at the end. I thought it was bitrate at first, but could that have been an issue with auto tracking?

I'm an Olympus user so I know that someone is bull shiting when they say that Olympus menus are easy to understand. Also, great that the 4k is 230mbs! The problem is that it's VBR. I mean, it's ok when brands pay you, just be honest about it.
The olympus em1 mark 2 IS NOT A DSLR.
Update: Firmware 3.0 includes OM Log400 video format.
