    My favorite forced perspective trick is the one they use to make Tom Cruise look taller. The other trick I like is how he acts like a normal human on film

    I remember watching several actors on a talk show who had stared in a movie but never met. One of the scenes of them together over dinner was shown. What was odd was all said they had scheduling conflicts, and had filmed the dinner scenes months apart. It LOOKED like everyone was there, but a stand in actor was used for all of the other actors on different takes on multiple datesdates. The end result was seamless! I was floored!

    5:51 Well, props to the production for trying to use a practical and only resorting to a CGI eyepatch b/c of issues with the real one. (As part of the implosive situation with production and losses in the industry currently, I expect we could - if fortunate - see a reduction in costly CGI and an emphasis on the masterful artistry of practical FX. Yes, I know...but I'm hoping I'm correct in the long run.)

    a trap set by the Dark Seekers? Is that what we're supposed to think in I Am Legend? I always thought that the character has set so many traps that he's lost track

    • @themusicplug2033
      @themusicplug2033 ปีที่แล้ว

      No because he was talking to Fred in the store the day before, so it let us know that something was off, and then the head move sold it to us. We were thinking like wills character that Fred moved himself

    • @DoubleJDoubleU
      @DoubleJDoubleU ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. That only gives me more questions however. Like, so the Darkseekers are intelligent enough to set traps? and why would they be motivated to capture him? surely they just want to kill him.
      The Will Smith character is the one motivated to capture subjects. And he's slowly going crazy from the isolation and forgetting where he set traps. I feel like the name 'Fred' he uses for numerous mannequin friends he set up around the city.
      Is this a take you get from the book or something? because I just don't see the dark seekers in the film as intelligent enough to set complex traps.@@themusicplug2033

    I've got one, but it's not a film trick... It's a story telling trick. In The Usual Suspects, the lawyer Kobayashi hands out dossiers from a briefcase. He hands them out in the order the people die. This makes sense as the movie is from Verbal's perspective and he is making the story up as he goes along... So this is the viewer getting a peak into him formulating what's going to happen as he tells the lie. That's just one of many subtle moments in that movie that trick the audience or foreshadow something.
