    This is the first time I've heard of using a pearl medium for cloud mixes honestly. I know Fiona uses it for her flower dips and stuff but I'm really glad you posted these other options, too. I love doing cloud pours but the last few times did NOT turn out like I wanted, so this is definitely worth exploring! Thanks! Your work is lovely, btw. Lol. Like all of it. I'm a stroke survivor and tilting is challenging for me sometimes cuz uhm noodle arm, but the spinning makes sense so may look into that as well. Right now I just have a little 8 inch lazy Susan type deal. Lol. Yay experiments!!

  • @jessicalarson3758

    Ty for all your experimenting Tiff! I think it just all depends on what you actually want with your clouds rather it be "defined" lines, (I was trying to help ya out with that word but ya couldn't hear me lol. gotta love allergy season. I suffer from it as well.) transparency, defined lines AND transparency, softer or faded clouds, ect. All of these are great options. I like 4 AND 5. There are so many more pearlescent mediums and/or paints out there too so maybe 1 of them would work exactly the same. I was thinking of adding something to bulk up the luiqitex Pearl Medium because its so thin... hmm...Gonna try it tomorrow or the next day with something to make it thicker?...then some S.E. maybe if it don't work? Not sure yet? Anyhoo, ty for sharing this gurl. I hope you feel better soon. It sounds like we all may be waiting a bit for the vallejo BUT we made clouds before without it. I think we can all get through this, right? lol. I'm here for ya gurl! I'm laughing trying to make light of it but that stuff was just easy peezy and hit different. Again, TY for all the testing. I went old school MD style last week with specific brands of colors and let my paints sit forever. Just how I remembered it! Super Pretty clouds.:) Just a little... different is all. I'm sure you know what I mean. Plus, the extra ingredients. Like I said, We'll get through this as a community until Vallejo gets there sh*t figured out.;)lol. We'll be fineee. You just provided some great recipes for ppl! Now go relax!;) Hope you have a great week Tiff! Get better soon! xox
    P.s. I've been sitting on an oldschool A.L. flow acrylic bottle for some time now. shh. i've only ever told one other person and that was Tara! It Lets me compare and I'll savor that thing til the last drop! It's like a piece of history! Literally!! lol ;)

    • @WillieBStudios
      @WillieBStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it all totally depends on what each person prefers! As far as other pearl mediums....I had 5 I was trying out! The only one that even came close was the Liquitex Iridescent Medium. All the others made the cloud...grainy. The mica bits in the Vallejo are sooo tiny...whereas the others ( Sargent's, decoart, Windsor and Newton...and I can't remember the last one off hand 🤦‍♀️) were much bigger or it was so dang thick that even thin ing down didn't do great things. That's totally why I widdle it down to the 5. But yes...Mely Ds original recipe is amazing. I just happen to not love thin paints and I wanted more structure! Frigging cloud pours...they get under your skin in the best way....and I just want to chase all the different options lol. Thanks for chiming in and dang....allergy season....I hope you stay free from the stuffy nose and itchy eyes!
      Oh and the Iridescent medium is super reactive....that's why in the first recipe I have just a bit of it with the Amsterdam. Just use it with another tube white. Now, I don't think I tried it with just the satin enamels....I have to go and look in my little book to see what I did. A few of the recipes I tried before getting to the best 5, did split or flocc. Yuck lol

      @@WillieBStudios 😳 wow gurl ok! I didn't realize you were trying SO MANY different ones! Dang! See, I am not a fan of the thinner paints either that is why I am totally on your side with this one! So for me, I want something that's thicker and looks pretty much the same as the old school cloud pour but with more structure as well. So I keep looking at the old school ones I have thinking ok, what can I do to get it like that but how "I" want it 🤔... If that makes sense. Lol. Yeah you get it!❤️
