You’re smart for getting a tractor. Now with a failer mower on the front and a grapple. You can clear up that property in maybe one summer. What a great adventure your family is on. Good luck. Later
@@OffGridWithGinaThiyup! We would get 2 or 3 boxes for our trailer and strew them about like it was a fryer sheet party, every fall when we closed our trailer. Never had mice! Put one on every shelf in every cupboard, in the fridge, the stove, on the beds, under the beds, hang them from the ceiling! Bonus is that the trailer smells good when you open it up in the spring! 🤣
You should have where your { IP, Iron Pegs White posts } are. To find them then you know how things lay? As well to burn I see the stumps and that before you have no burning season. Get a small chain saw for making trails, small burn piles as you go. Small tree tops, branches as a way of removing them.

You definitely have your work cut out for you but you will get there, one step at a time. We have some challenges with our water and what we do is minimal filtering for the house and a Berkey filter for drinking and cooking. Outside water is unfiltered. Very simple and works great.
Don't use spray foam they will eat it. Use steel wool. Also, check the rock and tree trunks for the moss. It should be thicker on the north side of them. If you ever get lost, look at the moss.
Agree with mothballs. Scent last longer. We drilled holes in small containers and placed them strategically in areas around our vehicles engine, inside and under car. We took them out when we needed to drive one of them. I suggest you do the same for your tractor engine compartment and wherever wires are located,. Wouldn’t hurt for under your trailer or inside battery room too. So excited to see your family taking needed steps to live off-grid. God bless!
Something you may want to be sure of is that your still on your own land. Would be the pitts if you built your house and found out your not on your land. Keep in mind you bought 40 acres not 400. Also I have watched you walk through the woods there and I have noticed not a lot of large trees as well as a lot that seem to be uprooted I would deffinatly dig down a bit to make sure your not in real wet area. Just a thought
If I can offer some advice, from a guy that has built a house by himself. You need to clean up and get organized. It's incredibly challenging to your mental health to have so many things in disarray. Design your builds for twenty plus years of duty cycle so nothing is temporary, but you can add on as money and time permits. Good luck
Yes we mentioned in this video that we are going to clean up... we are actually already doing that! We can't build like this. We just got back on the land, so we are cleaning everything up before any building happens... there's so way to build like this. Thanks for advice and watching! Appreciate it!
Hi Chris! Yeah, we had algae form last year and learned the hard way... we aren't using the totes anymore. Our water is connected straight to the trailer. We are going to wash that one and then cover it up like you said and use for emergency only.
You really need to turn that music down and your videos. They’re too loud. You got good stuff going on, but it’s hard to understand with the loud music. . Just saying.
Have you seen the electric ones recently? Charge in 30 minutes. Took down 4 trees in one morning with power left over. Don't have to pay to run it. We have both diesel and electric but prefer the electric one ❤
@runningfromabear8354 nothing wrong with electric especially if it gets the job done well and it's good to have different options. As you can see our cheaper electric one got the job done great... thanks for sharing this!

Great video
Excited to see your future projects!
Dryer sheets work really well at keeping mice away. We used to put them in our antique car that we stored away for the winter.
Really?! We've never heard of that! They tried getting into our smaller car too. Going to try it out. Thanks for sharing Brenda!

@LADHP love that... just bought a bunch to put in our other trailers that we use for storage!
Those and bars of Irish Spring soap that's what we throw in our little tent camper in the fall.

Yes... we are learning so much everyday! Lol
The small bird on the road at 11:18 is called a Woodcock.
Love the channel, seems like you can never get caught up.
Hi there you should try to put dark cover over and around your tote to help prevent legionella bacteria growing in it.
That's a good idea. Thank you for sharing!

I used a combination of hardware cloths first and then spray foam. Thanks for the tip about the moss! We didn't know that!
old fashion way is using mothballs also for when possessions are stored
We might try that. Thanks.

What is the name of the plumbing fitting that attaches at water exit of tote?
Thanks for watching. The fitting is listed on amazon as "IBC tote adapter/fitting" this is the one I got:

Just get two fixed cats
No more mice
You need two dogs as well
