what should I do or what does it mean if the carotene keeps ending up being the last one below? I tried it 2 times and its always the same and im afraid the school lab wont let me do it again and i have to make a lab report about it with my picture in it.. I used spinach leaves btw
Hi, biology student here! From what I know, the Rf value is one of the methods you have to distinguish between the several photosynthetic pigments you can find on a leaf. You can also identify the pigments just by looking at their color. Basically if you have a Rf value close to 1, that means that the pigment moved quite a lot and it was abel to do that since it a polar pigment. If on the contrary you have a low Rf value, that means that the pigment didn't move that much and thus has non polar groups in its constitution. Please correct me if I am wrong
hi chemistry student here. the Rf value is one of the information we use to pinpoint what the pigment might potentially be. chemists around the world do this chromatography on initially known compounds and they share and confirm the Rf values they have obtained in a database (or multiple databases like the one presented at the end of the video) so that future analysts would have a reference when repeating the same chromatography on the same compound. think of it like a pseudo-fingerprint of a certain compound although i believe not all compounds have unique Rf values
It allows you to get a measurement for 5G or 3G radiation frequencies. That way, you can gauge how thick your tinfoil needs to be in order to block those signals
Incredibly detailed. Well done. Thanks for sharing
Helpful video
Must all bsc students watch this before exam❤❤
Absolutely helpful and on the point. Thanks. My lab practical is on it's way. It helped a lot
this helped me a lot in lab mixture separation report
Hi please can I contact you via email ..
but what does the Rf value actually tell you about the pigment?
Well done mam it's really very helpful video for us keep create video for us
Thank you! This is a helpful guide for our Plant physiology laboratory activity

Your welcome
Can someone please explain why acid washed sand and anhydrous MgSO4 are used in the preparation of the extract of this kind of chromatography.
Well my bio teacher said the acid washed sand was just there to make the grinding process easier about the anhydrous MgSO4 idk y it's there.
Excuse me, it is the same procedure for thin layer chromatography right?
Yup:)
Very useful for my experiment tomorrow
your english is too good
Thank you so much! I didn't understand anything given in my lab manual. But this is very clear.
Solvent system which solution use??
Can you please tell me
iso propyl alcohol water mixture
this video helped me alot
Thankyou so much for this video
It really helped
Good job dear👍
Is there any way to improve this method
How much acetone is used for each leaf sample?
not just acetone 5 ml solvent which contain 9 part Petroleum ether and 1 part acetone
@Elijah Tam-od Ok
Instead of ether which solvent can be used?
Can I ask what solvent did she use? Please answer me 🙏
Water

Ms. Webber sends her hellos!
Thank you madam I understand very well
Which solvent used?
I think acetone
5 ml solvent 9 part petroleum and 1 part acetone sis
Instead of ether which solvent can be used?
what are the methods or ways of separating plant pigments?? only TLC and paper chromatography ?? please I need help
u can do through chemical method as well.
What’s the significance and use of Rf value?
After determining Rf, what’s next? Does it end in finding the Rf? Thanks.

RF value is used to identify the pigment

thank you
Plss give me the exact amount of solvent
AND WHAT HAS SHE ADDED???
Thank you it helps
😊 🙏 thanks
Is the eluting solvent polar of non polar?
Thanku so so much❤
Can someone please my lab
Tanks
thanks ..
"a few drops of acetone" 🗿
