  • I visit St. Roch Cemetery in New Orleans. In the cemetery, there is a chapel with hands, feet, and other interesting things hanging from the wall.

The ghost dog isn't an uncommon haunt in many cemeteries. There's a belief that the first soul interred in a cemetery remains there to guide the other souls over. A dog would often be buried before the first person was buried, in order for that person to not become trapped and forced to guide the other souls buried there to the afterlife for all eternity.

I used to live a couple of blocks from St. Roch Cemetery and photographed everything as well. The last time I went the rooms were open so I was able to get photographs without the bars as well. Saint Roch has always been a place of miracles. It's one of the places I really miss about New Orleans, I had left in 2010. One true story I will leave you with: One day, I spoke to a woman who grew up in the neighborhood. She told me that the two angels at the entrance had wings at one time. Then there was a bad storm one night and the angels lost their wings...

    • @NOLADEEJ

so beautiful and so sad to think it was at one time all under water.. I just cry every time I really see something or think about Katrina, I was in AZ living at the time it happened and what I do remember is watching people on an overpass wanting water.. and a lady jumped to her death from there .. all I could think at the time was "How can i get to New Orleans and help them out"....it was so sad and still is .... but I fell in love with Louisiana and here I now reside....

    Praying to evil idols....
Repent and call on the one and only true God, through his only begotten Son Yeshua Hamashiach. To have Salvation. It is a free gift for eternal life, free of all fear and death. Only love remains... John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
