  • Incredible drama at the Boleyn Ground with the Irons coming from 2-4 down to eventually triumph. As well as Shaka Hislop's broken leg and the introduction of an 18 year old Stephen Bywater the match is famous for Paolo Di Canio practically begging Harry Redknapp to substitute him! Breathtaking stuff!

I went on my first trip overseas to London in February of 2000 and had three possible choices for which match I wanted to see. First choice was Arsenal v Liverpool - sold out. Second choice was Chelsea v Wimbeldon - sold out. I saw this match and thought "Well, at least I can say I've been to a top flight English match". I didn't expect THIS. When Bradford went up 4-2 in the second half, I was expecting to hear "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from the stands. When it got to 5-4 West Ham, even I was singing to the Bradford supporters "You're not singing anymore". They may as well have been playing at Wembley at that point because it got that loud! What an unforgettable day!

The only reason those penalties weren't given was because of revenge after the Alcot incident. The ref had an agenda against Di Canio
