I hope you aren't penniless for long, because you're one of the most accurate card raters I know (also, your system is super cool). Keep it up, man! Edit: Although I disagree with you on Convincing Infiltrator. Everyone's talking about this card, but here's the thing: if you're playing against an aggro deck and need a taunt, this has low stats for its cost (same stats as Stegodon, as you pointed out, which is a weak 4-drop that's been powercreeped several times), and will likely only destroy a small minion. In a lot of cases, against aggro decks, you'd be better off running Fen Creeper. Yeah. If you're playing a heavier deck that runs a lot of large minions, then the 2/6 Taunt won't be that powerful, and you'd often spend 5 mana to essentially freeze a minion and deal 2 damage to it (which your opponent gets to choose) and destroy a random enemy minion, which, again, isn't that good for 5 mana.
I would actually play a 5 mana spell that bundled frostbolt and deadly shot. The perfect blend for removing realistic mid-game turn 5-6 boards which often consist of one or more small minions and no more than one larger minion. And as a minion, Stegodon is not that bad on turn 4 - it's just because it's inflexible, and has little payoff in the late game (hence the Omega Defender powercreep) that makes it not worth putting in your deck. It's a pretty bad thing to top deck on turn 11 in most cases. What makes convincing infiltrator good is its power, but also its flexibility. Its hard removal text keeps it relevant against 6/6 or bigger minions that stegodon is very weak to later on, and is going to be a good 5-drop in 99% of situations by holding off small minions and threatening to kill giant minions, possibly forcing your opponent to trade in a sub-optimal way to protect those large minions by target saturation. So yeah. Convincing infiltrator is gonna be really fucking good.
I feel like you're underestimating Plot twist due to the fact that Augmented Eleik exist. Like you add in the same copy of cards into the deck and draw them based on the number. You also have a slight chance of drawing the same copy from the big elephant. But it's mostly theory crafting atm. So it might be meta but it's a meme right now.
it's gonna be way too slow. it's pretty similar to dead man's hand warrior, which wasn't good at all. only meta it works in is one based mostly on value.
The laziness and poorly-thought-out standards of other people's rating systems were a long-standing irritation when it came to this kind of thing, so it's nice to see someone finally do some actual analysis on how to break these things down properly.
HyP3 Omega Rating system doesn't matter cus ALL streamers predictions are completely wrong, without exception. doing it it's pointless and all system are pointless. And this one is unnecessary complicated so it's even worse than others considering that rating them before release it is pointless.
@@spriestplayer2329 I half agree. I think his system is cumbersome and people are wrong tolaud it for how complicated it is when it's not really more accurate or insightful than anyone else's. Yup. This is one of those cards he's gonna have to make a video to apologise for. He also forgets that this really isn't new design space for hearthstone.
@@pachiroth7848 um, play doll master dorian, play portal, summons 1/1 mechathun, kill dorian with grim rally, then play screech which discards mechathun and kilsl it
If mechathun is strong there's two different cards in neutral that can just kill the combo, the 4 mana 3/8 taunt that summons a minion from the oponents deck and the 6 mana 5/6 that plays a spell on the oponent's hand, I think combo is pretty ded with these cards in basic for a year
Great review, I can appreciate the time you spend on them! I had a thought on your flight master review though, I think it Can be a tech card against resurrect type decks, Which previously was not in a (somewhat realistic) neutral card.
You do a great job of analyzing:-) I opened 130 packs at a fireside gathering Saturday and got 6 legendaries and I’m excited! I’m not lucky obviously but I have tons of dust coming because I don’t plat wild.
I think the plot twist rating is wrong because in control if you have a bad hand (no removals against aggro or only removals against control) you can just swap it (without going more into fatigue) and get a better hand
Think you are underestimating Plot Twist. Sure, the synergies are weak or unreliable, but a control deck being able to get a hand reset to look for answers is undeniably valuable. A warlock who would normally have to tap on turn 6 to look for Hellfire to clear now has as many extra chances as they have cards in their hand.
I think you underrated plot twist. Although I totally agree that portal demons and Betrug won't see much competitive play the redraw your hand effect is much more powerful than what you imply, of course in Control and Combo decks. And since Warlock is a class that plays absurd amount of removal I would think that plot twist will certainly see play.
Hey guys maybe blizzard will just print a card "Whenever you gain armor equal to the amount of turns the card you gained it from stayed in your hand win the game" and then Dr. Boom's scheme will make sense
I think you're greatly underestimating Plot Twist... every other card game in existence has a card with that effect and it is always, always strong. I don't think hearthstone is different enough to change that
Big Ressurect Priest is just going to fucking dominate the Wild Meta they literally got 3 more minions that are perfect for their deck and I am honestly scared for my life.
I must say that twinspell already has been very underrated. Its surprisingly strong on a lot of cards. The Forest's aid is kind of a good example of this. Its one of those cards that is bad on its own but is crazy with Treespeaker and other buffs or mulchmuncher. Your opponent either has to kill the trees or they get buffed/turned into 5/5s or they waste a board clear and it happens again, literally puts them in a catch 22 scenario. Also tess recasting twinspell is so fucking stupid.
For plot twist - have you ever played a control warlock or even a Reno lock? If you haven't let me present you with a scenario. You got unlucky on the mulligan and your opponent is playing aggro. Turn four comes and he's got a fat board and you have nothing. One last desperate tap for defile and then you practically win or lose on the spot. Now switch the 2 mana tap for a 2 mana plot twist. Another example: opponent is slow and so are you. Turn 3 comes and you have enough cards to drop a fat twilight drake or cheap giant. Except you don't have one. BAM! plot twist. Now you have like 8 shots at drawing one of the 4 minions that you want to drop next turn. And like i said - all of this is doubled for Reno decks. Then there's the synergy for combondecks, like the one Kripp featured. Cast Soularium and draw 3. Drew any combo piece that you'd have to discard? Plot twist!
I'm gonna have to disagree on convincing infiltrator, because i think that since it *seems* to be a more control and spell based meta, killing off one minion twice over the course of a game won't matter all that much. The spider bomb worked well because hunter had ways to either a. activate its deathrattle as soon as it was played or b. magnetize it onto a mech that could attack immediately. Priest does have ways of cheating out deathrattle minions, and it got more support this expansion with the 2/2 copier, but overall I think it's only a decent if decent, if that.

faceless rager, that you rated w/ "almost alright, sometimes", i see it mainly being a strong turn 4 or 5 play that leaves some mana on that turn following cards like arcane watcher, twilight drake & mountain giant (& a few wild ones like humongous razorleaf & molten giant), & just sometimes be used as a 3 drop following something like ancient watcher or sunreaver spy (the last one i think it won't be on the same deck but who knows). for that i believe it deserves a "strong in the right deck".
the boom reaver i think it deserves a "stupid unless it isn't" instead of "strong in the right deck" because other cards that would be played in the same deck (like dimentional ripper, that is already bad, or some recruit like card) would not want to pull it.
scargil, that you ratted as "deck defining", i believe it is to slow for a murloc shaman by itself & counter productive since the archtype already keeps the player's hand empty, but when played with the underbelly angler it will be really strong. so i believe it deserves a "strong in the right deck" instead.
forbidden words, that you gave "tech card", i think deserves a "excellent in most metas" for being almost as good as pain, if not as good, against agressive decks but being a lot more flexible.
